  1. So I'm flying the beta version of the a320V2 and when I start the gsx boarding, it just boards one passenger and then stops the boarding.(even when simbrief is loaded) Anyone know a fix?
  2. Hi, I got the beta version of the inibuilds a320 V2 but I noticed that when I want to pushback with gsx it just doesn't work. It keeps saying release parking brakes, but when I release them, nothing. Also the passengers don't show during boarding. Ps: I downloaded a gsx profile from flightsim.to but I don't know if this may be the cause
  3. I'm getting some strange cockpit "shaking" when GSX is performing pushback. This camera shake was previously fixed by changing a line in cameras.cfg (MomentumEffect=No), but this fix no longer works and the camera shaking is back. 5. Here’s a quick guide explaining how to run GSX and PMDG’s ground vehicles side by side with all its glory, quirks and limitations. This will give you GSX’ fully animated ULD/pallet and catering loading, including realistic vehicle and container logos based on airline/airport, while retaining PMDG’s additional vehicles like cabin services, maintenance van and any extra cargo loaders which won’t be possible when running GSX exclusively as it still only supports a maximum of two catering trucks and two cargo loaders. This will see the Queen being surrounded by an appropriate number of servants, exactly how it should be ;) First things first: Update GSX to the most recent major version (1.9.9.11 or newer) as this will prevent GSX from removing any PMDG ground vehicles and it adds the PMDG 747v3 to its internal database to provide some basic compatibility. Put my customized GSX Aircraft files into the respective folder as per included readme.txt. More details at the bottom of this post. Although the most recent GSX update adds the PMDG 747 variants to its internal database, galley services (catering) are still being done through doors 1R and 5R, which isn’t very realistic on a B744 as there’s usually no galley in the tail section. I customized the GSX profile to ensure catering is being loaded through 1R and 2R. The AFT galleys will actually be supplied through door 4L on the opposite side. This door will still be serviced by a PMDG vehicle as GSX doesn’t allow more than two catering trucks. I also disabled door 5L to prevent GSX to place stairs at this door, as PMDG uses 5L for the cabin services truck (cleaners). Please note that this only hides the door for GSX, it will still be fully functional in the sim. I also disabled door checks for 1L in case of single jetway boarding. Also, please be aware that the aircraft diagram in the GSX -> Customize Aircraft menu won’t reflect the changes visually, its just a static image, so it will still show the 2nd catering door as being at the back. Just ignore this, the coordinates and open/close checks are set for Door 2R. Now we just need to hide some of the PDMG vehicles as they will be replaced by their GSX counterparts: Go to the FMC menu -> PMDG SETUP -> SIMULATION -> Page 10/10 and set the following: GROUND SERVICE OBJECTS = SHOW SELECTED GROUND SERVICE OBJECTS -> SELECT TO SHOW Then hide the following objects: FWD GALLEY MID GALLEY FWD CARGO AFT CARGO STAIRS 1L* STAIRS 2L* STAIRS 5L (* if parking stand has a jetway) Note: You could also hide the PMDG fuel truck and use the GSX truck instead. This will give you the choice between GSX traditional tanker-truck and PMDGs more modern, large airport hydrant-dispenser-truck. However, there’s a catch when using the GSX truck with AUTO GROUND OPS, which I will explain further below Now after everything is set up, let’s look into the actual turnaround process. You can either go for manual ground ops which gives you full manual control over timings for PMDG ground vehicles and door handling or you opt for AUTO GROUND OPS for realistic turnaround sequencing with little flexibility. In order to activate AUTO GROUND OPS just hit LSK3 on the GROUND OPERATIONS page to cycle through the available turnaround lengths (short, long and custom). For this guide I use the short turnaround time of 60 minutes. For a single leg flight or first flight of the day (no de-boarding): First check your fuel load. A 747 will usually have more than 30’000lbs (~16’000 kgs) remaining fuel, as landing with anything below can cause the fuel pumps to overheat. However, for most long haul flights, the airplane will be pre-fueled already before the turnaround starts, close to the actual plan fuel. Once dispatch has calculated the final fuel numbers, the refueler will just add the remaining amount to match the OFP numbers. As AUTO GROUND OPS uses realistic fuel flow values, it’s important to ensure that refueling doesn’t take too long (incl hook up time) as you might run out of time on a 1 hour turnaround, this will be indicated by a warning message on the FMC. If in doubt just make sure you add enough fuel before starting the turnaround timer. Now start AUTO GROUND OPS by selecting a turnaround time with LSK3 key, this should start the countdown timer. I won’t be going too much into detail about the timing, just play around and get a feeling for it. If you want more details about typical and realistic 747 turnaround timing, please refer to the official 747 Airport Planning document from Boeing. The timings PMDG used for auto ground services appear to be identical to the timeline diagram shown in this document. (Chapter 5.0 Terminal Servicing / PDF Page 120 or Document page 114) http://www.boeing.com/assets/pdf/commercial/airports/acaps/747_4.pdf BTW; the document mentions a boarding rate of 25 PAX per minute and 40 PAX per minute for de-boarding. Make sure you adjust your GSX settings accordingly After 4 minutes, Doors R1 and R2 will open which will start the catering resupply. Make sure you call GSX’ catering early enough to ensure that the trucks are in position when the doors are opening at T-4min. Note about GSX fueling: Should you opt to use GSX progressive, simulated fueling, you need to be aware that you won’t be able to start catering before fueling has been completed due to a GSX limitation. This could throw the entire timing off, that’s why I suggest to use PMDG refueling as this will allow you start boarding while refueling is still ongoing, just make sure you keep that fasten seatbelt sign off until refueling is completed to comply with real world procedures. The rest of the turnaround sequence is more or less self-explanatory. Keep in mind that you can override door control, so you can close certain doors earlier than AUTO GROUND OPS would normally do. For a multi-leg flight: I advise to complete GSX de-boarding phase before you start a new turnaround timer, otherwise AUTO GROUND OPS will start catering before de-boarding is completed. Not a big deal if you don’t mind open doors without anything attached to it ;) Once de-boarding is completed just follow the single leg procedure outlined above. Free tip of the day (especially interesting for the freight-dogs among us): By default, GSX will use the ground handlers logo for the cargo ULDs. On airports with dedicated (non-airline) ground handling this looks a bit strange as you might load Lufthansa ULD’s at departure and unload Menzies ULD’s at your destination. If you add the following line to the respective livery section of your aircraft.cfg, GSX will always use the airline logo for containers (or whatever valid 3 letter ICAO code you put in) atc_parkingcodes=XXX (replace XXX with the 3 letter ICAO code of your airline) So lets say you add ‘CPA’ as parkingcode for your Cathay Pacific livery and park your plane at VHHH, this would give you ground handling by ‘Hongkong Airport Services’ (HAS), catering by ‘Cathay Pacific Catering’ and the containers will bear the Cathay Pacific logo, just as in real life. I might be doing a quick time-lapse video showing a 60 min turnaround using both types of vehicles. Hope I’ll be able to complete it sometime this weekend. Note: I’ve attached two GSX aircraft config files, one for the 747-400 and one for the 747-400F. The PAX version will have the 2nd catering truck moved to door R2 (from R5) as described above and the freighter version will enable the main/side cargo door for GSX Hi-Loader including proper door checks for. This means that FWD cargo and Side/Main cargo will be served by GSX while AFT cargo is being done by PDMG vehicle. Make sure you change the show/hide config in your FMC accordingly. Download GSX configs I’ll add config files for all the other variants later.
  6. Hello, I am using ADE right now and am wondering what the "x" stands for after the airline code (ex, UALX, AALX). Could somebody tell me what this means? I don't know if it's a preferred symbol or regional symbol, or something completely different. Thanks!
  7. Hello. As many of you may have experienced when you use gsx at FlyTampa's EHAM the docking systems dissapear. This is very unrealistic and disturbing. I decided to create a fix. It still is a WIP. By selecting the "all runways open" in the configurator after installing this fix you will get them back. IRL the docking systems are normally the 1st Safegate model and AGNIS/PAPA but since these either don't exist/are tricky to set into place I decided to set the good old safegate T2-9 that come with the Add-on initially. link:https://mega.nz/#!5OgQwCII!AVU0lZAcxTqKo9pW-b-Kk_9LDLC7f1sWVWcO8_2yv1M Charly
  8. Hi, I've been experiencing this weird problem with gsx on P3Dv4.2 wherein every time i ask GSX to deboard, refuel, cater etc. and when everything's done I cant open the GSX menu again. I tried restarting the airport cache but i still cant open the menu. Whats causing this problem and is there a fix for this? I already sent an email to FSdreamteam but still no reponse. Thanks, Francis
  9. Sorry to bother you all.. but could someone help me with GSX? Just did a clean (1st) install on my system and no matter if I try to load into a addon or default airport it says: "There are no parkings available at this airport" when trying to open the in-game menu - which just says that it's loading and to please wait... Any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate the help 🙂 My game install is fresh and I don't have many mods: PMDG, Navigraph, two addon airports, FSRealistic Pro and that's about it. All installed within the last week.
  10. I'm a big fan of GSX, and was curious how others handled this situation. I notice that even though I connect the jetway, the back stairs always still come up to the craft, even though they are not needed. Is anyone actually using that back staircase, when the jetway is already connected? Do those back stairs even work when the jetway is connected? I probably have a wrong setting 🙂
  11. Hey guys hoping everyone is having a good day. I am on P3D V4 and when i land at airports with GSX level 2 jetways i get stutters which last 2 to 3 seconds when the GSX level 2 jetways load. Does anyone know how to make the jetways load earlier or to completely remove the stutters from the loading jetways before landing? I've tried disabling GSX and then enabling it again but when i click enable GSX after landing it takes a very long time to become available again. Thanks
  12. Hello, Recently GSX has been acting really strange. Whenever I open the parking configuration tool in the GSX menu and click the customize vehicle location option, the entire sim shutters and the the aircraft will zip around the map for a good couple seconds and then it will come to a stop in some random spot. If I press the F1 key to switch to another vehicle GSX brings me back to the gate but all of the ramp objects are either under the ground or completely invisible. If I repeat the process GSX crashes and will refuse to work until I restart the sim. The issue is not specific to any airport or aircraft. Any advice? Thanks! -Derek
  13. I'm running P3D v3.4. Today I bought TropicalSim's MDPC and added an entry to scenery.cfg as advised. Loaded up P3D and positioned Concorde (a heavy) at a heavy gate. I then brought up the GSX menu but the gate entries bore no resemblance to the actual gates. On further investigation I found that GSX is using the MyTraffic BGL for this airport, not the supplied AFCAD. I ran Simple Airport Scanner (SAS) by ScruffyDuck but it reported no duplicate. Why not? I then realised MyTraffic doesn't have an entry in scenery.cfg. It's now treated as an addon and is loaded by a separate process. So how can SAS detect duplicate AFCADs because this surely is the problem? Now I might have the answer but it's a bit messy and all due to the way scenery is now handled in P3D v3.3 onwards. Lorby has given us Addon Organizer and one of its features is the ability to generate a scenery.cfg from both the actual one and addons such as FSDT and FB airports but crucially also now including MyTraffic Pro. This scenery.cfg is only created temporarily for programs such as MakeRunways and EFB. But it seems to me SAS also needs to use it to correctly detect duplicate AFCADs. It would then allow me to disable the MyTraffic one for MDPC thereby forcing everything else to use the one supplied with the TropicalSim MDPC. Anyone any thoughts on this? First time I've had this problem with GSX and P3D and I have a fair bit of 3rd party scenery.
  14. Am interested in GSX, but notice on Web purchase page says "for P3D and FSX". I know it is also for MSFX , but just wanted to be sure. Dave
  15. Hi all, i have the pmdg 747 v3 and have GSX. However, I can't use gsx. When I use the keys to pop up the menu screen it doesn't pop up. Also when I go the add on list, I can't see gsx. But when I'm using the pmdg 737 and 777, this works. Does anybody know why I can't use gsx with the 747 and how do I fix this? thx for ur help in advance
  16. Late last year, as some of you may recall, I purchased a scenery which used the Virtuali installer. It was not a positive experience at the time and I pretty much vented my frustrations out here in the forum. I gave up on ever installing that scenery and swore I would never ever buy anything that required Virtuali.Fast forward to day before yesterday... I installed the demo of GSX that night and it didn't work. Nothing. On Thursday morning, I spent a couple of hours doing everything I could do to get it to work. Finally, I gave up again, but made the bright move (Duh!) of contacting Umberto. Once again I told Umberto that I would not go down this path again, and asked if there was any less complicated way to install an add-on.Umberto responded and responded and responded. He responded throughout the evening his time on Thursday, well into the night. He was also answering questions, giving guidance and obviously participating here while he patiently put up with yours truly. To make a long story short, and to register this as a "lesson learned", he made GSX work for me.I don't consider myself a slouch at PC's and trouble shooting programs, however this one flummoxed me. Umberto, after having walked through a number of possibilities, asked a simple question; "Virtuali is not in your Internet Explorer's Untrusted Publishers list is it?".... Sure enough, Virtuali was labeled an Untrusted Publisher and no matter how many uninstalls and re-installs I did, or how much time I spent rearranging the registry... simply put, GSX was not going to work! The system would not allow GSX to install at all! I removed Virtuali from the Untrusted Publishers list and viola, GSX installed flawlessly and worked like a charm. How Virtuali made it to my Untrusted Publishers list is beyond me. I didn't put it there! Maybe someday someone can explain that to me.So I would like to publicly state that Virtuali works and Umberto did a fantastic job of putting up with me and going beyond the limit to see that we got GSX to work. Thanks Umberto; that was quite a demonstration of customer support you provided yesterday beyond measure. As for GSX; what a difference!
  17. I've had a problem with GSX in P3DV3.4(Ground Services X) it was running as normal until it try to get the menu up, in game (CTRL + SHIFT + F12) i tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it as demo still no luck, GSX is in the Add-ons bar and everything is there, i tried restarting couatl and regenerate airport cache and tried again, still nothing. Any Help would really mean alot
  18. The PMDG NGX -700 and GSX make a great combo. Linked images are 1600 x 900.
  19. Hot off the press. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV0CCowUeDk&ab_channel=UmbertoColapicchioni
  20. Hello all, How would I be able to install GSX level 1 without the level 2 content since there is no separate download file on GSX's website? Thanks!
  21. Hello, I am using some modified AFCAD files made by Ray Smith/Robert Catherall which can be found on avsim for some P3D airports. I am using P3D v4.2. It looks like the sim is correctly reading the files as they modify the airports (gates, taxiways, ...). However, it seems that GSX does not manage to use the modified AFCAD and still uses the default AFCAD. As a result, when I am loading a flight at a gate, GSX does not recognize the gate the plane is at. When I open the GSX context menu, it does not recognize the gate and I have to manually select it. Once the gate is selected in GSX, it moves the plane to a slightly different place. Looking at the GSX menu, it looks like GSX is reading the AFCAD which is located in the Prepar3D\scenery\... folder whereas my modified AFCAD files are located in a folder outside Prepar3D. I also use some payware airports GSX works perfectly with them (it reads the modified AFCAD). I would like to know if some of you are using modified AFCAD with GSX and how to make it recognize the modified AFCAD. Louis DAVID
  22. Hey there, So I have this problem with gsx in FlyTampa YSSY. Whenever I land, pretty much only the intl terminal gates are available in the gsx menu. I was thinking I may be an outdated file or something (in which case where could I get a newer version?), but it's quite annoying when I'm not flying intl. Also, when I want to load up in Sydney, I can access all the airport positions from the P3D menu, so I'm pretty sure the problem isn't with the FlyTampa scenery. I've only got the base GSX, and the scenery is working wih OrbX FTX Global. Thanks for your help !
  23. Good evening Recently I have bought GSX and I have downloaded the installer. Everything was running fine until I started P3D. I loaded the simulator and either GSX and Couatl were on the "Addons" bar. The problem is when I try to do Shift+Ctrl+F12 to open GSX's menu. It won't open even if I assign other keys. Hope you can help me :) Thanks in advance, Carlos
  24. Hi everyone so when I had just factory reset my PC and reinstalled FSX, but i get these weird glitches that I can't explain. My first thought it Could of been GSX cause some of GSX objects go invisible but with it disable the glitches still appear no matter if its a freeware, payware or default scenery or aircraft. here video link hopefully someone can Identify the issue. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iKvPob_-D0F1mR0Dl2Q08QjS4MLdGb-v/view?usp=sharing
