  1. A short trek from O85 (outside of Redding, CA) to Eureka, CA KEKA. I planned a higher cruise but clouds enroute kept me at 12,500. It became gloomy approaching EKA with raindrops falling on my wings on final. 3. Hi! I made a quick and dirty integration of RXP GTN 750 into Carenado C208B Grand Caravan EX (glass cockpit). This fix is based on another fix for F1 GTN by Jeff Smith (but does not require it). What is working: - almost everything (most knobs, DTO button, autopilot integration, transponder, etc) (note for FSX users: if touch screen isn't working, disable "Instrument reflections" from the aircraft menu SHIFT+3) What is NOT working: - "Menu" button. I don't know which code Carenado using for this event. Someone more tech-savvy, like Ryan, might be able to fix this in a minute. Original Carenado GNS is still accessible by clicking on "Garmin" title on the bezel. How to install: extract archive and copy RealityXP.GTN.ini and "panel" folder into "\SimObjects\Airplanes\Carenado C208B_Grand_Caravan_EX" Download
  4. Hi, This message to let you know we are working on our next XPlane and FltSim updates which are going to be offered as RC (release candidates) soon. What is addresses so far: - GNS V2 and GTN: added working IDENT mode. It overrides the NAV1/2 audio panel while active, while still permitting to change NAV1/2 audio selection in the GTN. It also work with GTN+GNS V2 on the same panel! - GNS V2: avionics bus / battery bus problem introduced in the last update. - GTN: XPDR reverting to 1200 during takeoff. - GTN FltSim: make popleft= working with the SHIFT key (left click = touchscreen, SHIFT+left click = popleft) We're also looking at way to mitigate the FltSim full screen window minimizing when opening the settings panel or the aircraft assistant. Should you think of any other thing we've missed in the list, please feel free to discuss and remind us!

  7. Hi Jean-Luc, Trying to make a case for your products on A2A - you may want to reach out to them as it seems they might be working on installers now... RXP GTN 750 http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=474565#p474565 Regards, Scott
  8. This isn't my work, a user at x plane dot org has created a nice mod for the GTN 750 in Aerobask Panthera. I'm trying to contact him to make sure it's ok to post his work. But screenshots! I think there may be a way to get the GTN 650 working and I have been playing with some values but no luck so far. If you don't have the Panthera I highly recommend it - super plane! edit: I've just now taken what I learned from that user and made a GTN 750 mod for the Aerobask Eclipse 550 v2! pantheraGTN2 by ryan b, on Flickr pantheraGTN by ryan b, on Flickr eclipseGTNRXP2 by ryan b, on Flickr eclipseGTNRXP by ryan b, on Flickr
  9. Hi! I purchased the superb GTN 750 addon a few days ago and since then I've been trying to get it in the default Cessna 172 from Laminar Research for XP 11.10b5. I also have the Reality Expansion Pack for the C172, but it's not compatible with the latest v11.10 yet. As you may know, there was a compatibility mod for the C172 including two GTN 750 in the cockpit. I managed to adapt it to XP 11.10b5 and decided it should be interesting to update the GTN 3D model and textures. I heavily tweaked a base model (from a payware) and created my own textures and effects. The result you can see on the pictures below is a new model with accurate dimensions for the GTN, with custom textures and UV map (1024x1024) including night lighting, a PBR screen surface with reflections and subtle "dirt", but I had to ditch the master selection button from the original mod as I'm not familiar with the animation and logics process for the interactive elements. The original buttons remain functional (knobs, DTO, home). I just wish it would have been easier, as editing the cockpit interactive elements can be very tricky. Unfortunately, I can't afford the time to get into that level of details - so I kept the original layout with two GTN units. The current result with the default 172 is fantastic, and I'm really grateful we have the opportunity to use such an in-depth GTN device in X-Plane. Thanks to Reality XP and Jean-Luc! Mille mercis pour cette superbe réalisation !
  10. So with all these mods everyone's 3d VC buttons like Dto, the inner and outer knobs, and the HOME buttons work? I don't mean on the rxp popup gauges but the VC gauges?
  11. Watched most of these yesterday and today, and found a few independent videos as well. I saw somewhere in your information that the RXP GTN 750 uses Garmin GTN trainer v6.41. There are some touted features of that Garmin GTN software update that I did not find in their tutorial videos and do not clearly see them called out in your product information. So wondering if they are in your implementation of the GTN 750 based on trainer v6.41. Examples are the ability to add ad hoc holds (unpublished) at any fix; approach guidance for visual approaches; LNAV +V approaches without WAAS. Find those to be enhancements of interest. Then is there an iPad app yet that can connect to the RXP GTN in FSX. My iPad is the only touch screen device I have for use with flight simulation.
  12. The GTN Tutorial videos at the Garmin website are covering all there is to know to get started with the GTN with ease. I recommend you tour the features in a hands-on approach here: Garmin GTN Learning Center
  13. Hi, I created a set of checklists for the GTN using the Garmin ACE. They're based on the Just Flight PA-28 Arrow III manual and the Pilot's Operating Handbook from Piper. The file is attached to that post in the X-Plane.org forum. If you spot a typo, error or anything else, feel free to fix it using the checklist editor (link in the aforementioned post) and share it.
  14. Hey, Just purchased the product, and installed it, but I'm having a bit of trouble accessing it. It says in the manual that configuration appears under the "add-ons" tab, but I'm not seeing any Reality-XP or GTN options there. I thought I had the product installed, but so far no go. Now, I to have the GNS 430 installed on many aircraft. Does this new product conflict with the 430? Are there additional steps I need to perform in order to install this into FSX?
  15. I followed Nirgal's instructions for the 182 and ended up with a system that displays correctly; however, the autopilot in the 182 fails to follow the GPS guidance. It just turns the plane north to a track of ~005 and locks it there. I've tried this at several locations and I get the same results.
  16. Hi, quick note to let you know v2.4.8 is now live! You can now use the Settings Panel | Check Updates button, and get the release notes and download the installer. New: Added support for the latest GTN Trainer v6.41 We're now working on the next update with support for pop-out windows on XP11!

  18. Hi, The GTN is nearly ready for release, and in the meantime, I've decided to open the curtain on different aspects, while at the same time, debunking some myth about FS and performance! Here is a modest screenshot of 4 GTN unit1 at 2560x1418 pixels in P3D3. NB: It is slightly reduced to save bandwidth (75%), but it illustrates a couple points nonetheless. First myth: to save performance, display 1 gauge at a time only. Most often than not, you read you can't have a popup gauge displaying the same content as the VC at the same time, and this is a 'design' decision to 'save frame rate'... Why end up with half of your gauge, instead of getting the complete picture all around? This screenshot shows one GTN 750 Unit1 (1 gauge, not 2) displaying 4 different instances of the gauge in different sizes at the same at the same time, at 60 FPS locked. This is massive amount of gauge pixels to refresh, and believe me, using the mouse wheel on the screen (which simulate screen pinch in/out) there is no stutter at all and this refreshes at native GTN speed. Second myth: you can't display images with gradients because of colour banding... Well, I'm sorry to prove this is wrong (see the area within the yellow circle), but thanks to our unique technology capable of rendering 32bits images in FS gauges, in real time, you really get THE complete GTN screen picture only with the Reality XP GTN Touch. Third myth: this is just a gauge which bridge the Garmin trainer, what's so special about this? Can't everyone do the same frankly? It might look the same on the surface, but it is more than just 'bridging' flight sim and the Garmin trainer. Suffice to say, if this was easy, there would be a lot of Garmin trainer based products on the market! First, once done the bezel, the screen, and start/stop the Garmin trainer in the background, which a lot of developers could manage to do, there are key differences in how you put and how you get data to/from the sim and the trainer. Implementing the technology to grab the screen in a highly efficient way, and then displaying it in FS in a highly efficient way, and in 32 bits colours, it something which is much harder to do than it may seem. Then, the scope of input/output to the trainer is paramount to a sound simulation, especially for our professional customers using our technologies everyday for training. For example, our TAWS-A implementation in the GTN takes in account the actual flaps and gear position, which have a dramatic impact on the TAWS algorithm, and the alerts it returns. Speaking of this, I've recently read on avsim someone saying there is no way to 'inhibit' the TAWS because, well... In fact, not all GTN are born equal and the Reality XP GTN Touch offers the 'TAWS Inhibit' input, in addition to the OBS and the CDI toggle inputs. I could write a lot more about all this, but enough said for now, time for the screenshot: NB: this is running on an old 3.4Ghz Intel I5 (2013) and an Nvidia GTX 775M with 2GB, more specifically a Late 2013 iMac in bootcamp, which is our average test reference computer.
  19. Greetings. I've been scouring these threads trying to find a solution to a vexing problem re the use of the 750. Expert help greatly appreciated a this point after far too much trial and error! Had it running fine, then installed Carenado Baron + REP. Found need to start tweaking and something is now clearly out of whack. Issues/questions as I identify them: 1. Does the plug-in for the Carenado install to its own folder or should it work off the X-Plane 'general' one in root folder. I use latest ver. of XP11. 2. How do I completely uninstall the RXP GTN 750 prior to a re-install? Is it more than delete ProgramData folder plus the plug-in? 3. I had the same issue as many others with the installer 'needing to update files for the Trainer', but I think that's now sorted. 4. I see I have TWO GTN 750's available. I imagine this is normal. If needing only one, which one should I use? Does it matter? Is their potential for conflicts? I mark just one unit as 'Master' and assume the other is therefore inactive? 5. Should the GTN 750 lock th default Garmin units in the Carenado Baron, B58, C172? Sometimes I can toggle the frequencies from these units (to check capture) sometimes not. Cutting to the chase ... The 750 lets me use all GPS features except capture LOC or GS, so that precision approaches via the 750 even with VLOC selected currently not available. I will happily send the Xplane.log or whatever else you might need. Regards Gareth
  20. With the Flight 1 GTN 750 installed, is it possible to make the click point to bring the GTN out of it's bezel on the left side, where it is larger footprint to click on,instead of on the top.I find when flying in turbulence it's difficult to find the small footprint of the click spot. Thanks Steve.
  21. Hadn't seen it posted anywhere so thought I'd put it here. It's $20 for both if you have either the 650 or 750 already.
  22. Hello, I actually wanted to buy the Mindstar GNS530/430. However, I realized I will buy a new, fast computer in a few months. I just wanted the Mindstar because it's very lightweight. But when I buy my new PC, I can also use heavier things. So why should I now buy a lightweight, old GNS 530 without "Bells ans Whistles", when I can have an awesome touchscreen GPS for the same. But there is still some time between now and the purchase of my new computer. And I finally want to get a new GPS to fly IFR. The minimum requirements of the Flight1 GTN 750 say: CPU: Intel core i5/i7 quad-core or equivalent RAM: 8GB GPU: Nvidia GTX 500 series or equivalent with at least 1GB memory OS: 64 bit Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista or XP My current system looks like that: CPU: 2.1 GhZ Intel Duo Core RAM: 4GB GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4500 with 512 MB memory OS: 64 Bit Windows 10 SIM: FSX: Steam Edition Is there any chance my sim will run with FPS other than 5 FPS? At the moment I am used to around 16 Frames per second. In flight sim this looks so smooth. So: Does it need lots of resources what maked the whole computer laggy? I just would like to bridge the gap between now and my pc purchase. Thanks!
  23. Hello and thank you for your effort. I have just bought the GTN 650 and installed it in XPL 10. I installed the 2.4.0.0 version from the official RXP store, not the release candidate from this forum. During installation I got the trainer install error, but I continued the installation. After finishing the RXP installation I manually unzipped and installed the trainer which the installed downloaded. I did not change any paths, and this is the only Garmin trainer installed. In ProgramData/Reality XP I see foru .dll and one .rxp file. My rxpGTN.xpl.log contains only 17/04/15 18:52:38.748 08836 - ] # win.xpl version 2.4.0.0 My rxpGtnSim.dll.log contains only 17/04/15 18:52:43.370 08836 - ] # rxpGtnSim64.dll version 2.4.0.0 Windows 7, latest X Plane 10 version here. After loading my Carenado C172 in the X-Plane at LOWI, I was able to show both of the GTN units. They powered up. I see the home page, and buttons Traffix, Default NAV, Flight Plan, PROC and Nearest were tested and work (subsequent menus appear, I was able to start a simple LOWI DCT LKPR flightplan and even Review it in the Flight Plan menu. The problem is that when I click either Map or Terrain, the unit freezes. No chance to use anything else than until Xplane restart. The Map button remains blue after clicking it, the Terrain button not. Tested twice with XPL restart, both units same behavior. Any ideas? If you need any testing or debugging, let me know. Pavel
  24. Dear all, I purchased the GTN 750 for Xplane today and everytime I try to use it, the COM panel is red and message "No GPS Position" appear on the map.
