  1. Honestly, I haven't played fsx in a long time, specifically since It started crashing due to the compatibility of Windows 10 with the game. I tried to fix it, such as reinstalling the .dll that supposedly caused the problem (although with the steam edition nothing bad should happen), installing windows 7 on another computer but it was too weak, or even installing it inside my computer as dual boot, but my computer apparently is too new for windows 7. Nothing I have tried to do has worked, and I would like to know if there is a specific version (22Hsomething) in which these crashes do not occur. If someone asks what type of crash it is: it is when you change the view a lot or sometimes it closes by itself. Maybe someone knows about it. Greetings.
  2. Folks, I just want to let you know that Word Not Allowed has volunteered to be the moderator of the hardware forums, and we have accepted his application. Please give him a high five at the next opportunity. Thanks Word Not Allowed!
  3. Hi guys I have just ordered a rig to build (specs in the signature) and i would like to know what kind of FPS do you get with these types of hardware. I have seen FSX vids of builds with components like mine with decent FPS in the 30s on highest settings and i want to do that to set all the settings on there maximum with a frame rate intensive plane and really intensive scenery is this possible with this build? Also i have bought a hybird SSD along with a 1TB Samsung F3 (Currently the fastest HDD in the market) what would the best way about doing things with this be because the Hybird is actually slower then the F3 but is it also, Do i install the OS and FSX on the Hybird as the boot drive or do i just use the Hybird for storage and run the games and OS off the F3. Thanks in advance for your help guysHeliguy
  4. So looking at what it would take to ramp up my scenery experience CPU GPU Power Memory?? Currently I have 3600X 2x 8GB DDR4 2060Super 500W
  5. Hi all, this is a very specific question about the use of multiple monitors in FSX. It is not about how to set them up, but about two alternative ways to use them in a cockpit configuration. When you have multiple monitors (three for me) and an Nvidia graphic card (GTX 650 for me), my understanding is that you can configure one of the following: FSX run "windowed" (=not in full view), and each monitor will display a different "viewpoint" of the virtual cockpit. You can fine tune the viewpoints and their relative position on each monitor to simulate a surrounding effect of the virtual cockpit. Use Nvidia surround mode to link the three monitors into a single screen; run FSX as full view on this single long screen so that a single virtual cockpit fills all three monitors. No individual viewpoints are necessary in this case. I would like to know: a) Is there a major difference in performance between (1) and (2)? b) can I use TrackIR in both configs? c) can I see the instrument panel of the virtual cockpit in both configs? d) If I had a fourth monitor, could I put on it a 2D panel for instruments and use (1) or (2) only for the outside scenery? Please answer what you know or have experienced, but also give me your opinion on all this. Is there a config that is obviously much better than the rest? Am I making it too complicated? For reference, I am running Windows 10 and I have a bunch of physical controls (yoke, pedals, TPM, trim wheel, radio stack, autopilot, light switches, etc), but not single instrument panels (altimeter, VOR, etc) so it is a bit of a hybrid. I am not sure if giving up the virtual cockpit completely and switching to a 2D instrument panel to complement my hardware. This is related to the topic, because it depends how well (1) or (2) perform and give me extra "juice" to run a 4th monitor. Thank you for your time!
