For this example im select departure KRNO/ RNAVX 34L/trans. PIDIC/. RNAVX 34L approach procedure start from PIDIC as IAF, continue to JUKNU as IF and finished in KARME as FAF. In this article i focuse my intenttion on the Flight Managment Announciations, whitch are displeyd on the PFD during RNAVX approach whith IAN approach capability. For particular phase of IAN approach is importent to know that: IAF - Pidic, IF - JUKNU, FAF - KARME.1) In the FMC, App index page select KRNO/ RNAVX 34L/ trans PIDIC. 2) When the plane pass the fix ORUKE, press APP on the MCP (arm autopilot approach mode). In this time on the PFD (left upper corner) appear the "approach data block" in this format:RNAV 34LX/344 - this line show you the name of RNAV procedure (RNAV 34LX) and final app course 344RW 34L/27 - this line show you the runway 34L and distance to RW 34L - 27nmLNAV/VNAV - this line show you the deviation scale ID (LNAV/VNAV - becourse APP mode in this phase is only ARM. FMA (upper line on the PFD) show you -FMC SPD LNAV VNAV PTH)3) When the plane approach to IAF PIDIC - FMA (upper line on PFD) change roll mode from LNAV to FAC (final approach course). Pitch mode stay in VNAV PTH. In this phase of flight "approach data block" change:RNAV 34LX/344RW 34L/23FAC/VNAVCMD status change to CH single4) When the plane approach to FAF KARME - FMA (upper line on PFD) change pitch mode from VNAV PTH to G/S. Now FMA show FMC SPD FAC G/S. In this phase of flight "approach data block" change:RNAV 34LX/344RW34L/10FMC - FMC transmit IAN deviations to the autopilot and dispaly system.I open this topic for other sim pilots, to talk whith you about yours IFR experience whit boeing 737NGX.
