I'm installing another copy of MSFS store version on a second PC. After the install, it was clear this was the Xbox version. Instructions on using an Xbox controller were shown, and the final set part was different from what I've seen before, I've installed MSFS twice before on PC's. I assumed I messed up the install, I do remember being asked if I was it for Xbox or PC, maybe I messed up there. So I uninstalled, and tried again, being careful to select the PC version when asked, but I've still got the Xbox version! Any ideas why I'm not getting the PC version? Thanks Eugene

Hello I've installed FS2020 and have purchased a single copy from the MS store. In future when I buy a new PC will it be easy to move and reinstall the software on another machine? What exactly does a single digital licence allow? Can you for example have the program installed on more than one PC as long as you only run one copy at a time? Thanks for your advice Robin

I have been Running FSX and FSX SE side by side on the same Harddrive on 2 Computers for a long time, With No Problem . After a Hardrive Problem, requiring a reInstlall, I find that FSX SE will Not create the App Data Files Properly ? FSX-SE does create a FSX file in both App Data Roaming and Local. but will NOT open a FSX SE file ? FSX and FSX SE will both run Seemingly normal, but are operating out of the same FSX file in the Appdata Folder ? When I Completly Uninstall FSX, and run only FSX SE, FSX SE will continue to create the FSX Entries, but will NOT create a FSX SE entry in the App Data Folder ?? I suspect a Registry Error, but have NO Idea how to find it ?? HAAAAAAALPP !! - Johnman

Dear PMDG, I would like to know if you are able to tell us if we are going to have to install the new addon with anti-virus protections switched off ! Sound slighty daft but a few of my old addons required this, as there were a fair amount of gauges which with it on use to corrupt on download and installation,. Many thanks Steve

After many trials, tribulations and reinstalls it is now clear that the basic problem is that the fresh install download stops at a bit over one GB. I've tried using both Microsoft Store and the XBox app. In the XBox App, the download shows 152 GB at first. But it always completes at about 1 GB. I've tried both wireless and Ethernet. Windows 1909 is up to date. I've made sure all MSFS related files are removed after each uninstall. I cannot install on C drive (since it has FSX on it, among other things), so I try to install on D (which has plenty of room). I succeeded with the initial installation and previous update. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks to pjs37 and HiFlyer for earlier help on related issues. But it is now clear that I need to be able to download the full file.

I have the MSFS2020 Steam edition and when installing the Fenix A320 (C: disk) it doesnt show up under «Aircrafts» in the MSFS 2020 Aircraft list. What do I wrong? The Fenix team have looked into my ticket submit and escalating the ticket not giving back a response after 4 weeks after submit . Help!

Hey all, I downloaded the ZIP file from simMarket, installed the software from the installer, but now I can't see the aircraft in FSX. Where am I supposed to install the aircraft to? I've downloaded it to 3 different places. The Load Manager works, but can't access the aircraft in FSX. Cheers! Ben H.

Hello, yesterday (23.10.17) everything worked fine with ChasePlane but today, it didnt Startup anymore for some reason. I have made the decision to uninstall and install ChasePlane again, now ChasePlane doesnt install in VFXCentral after a view minutes i am getting an Error here it is: Installation Error: System.Exception: cpDownloadError at A.B.A(Boolean ) at VFXCentral.MainWindow.A(Object , DoWorkEventArgs ) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnDoWork(DoWorkEventArgs e) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.WorkerThreadStart(Object argument) here is also an Screenshot of it: http://prntscr.com/h1j05f Also the Webside of FSFX is loading extremely long for me. (I uninstalled VFXCentral and installed it again aswell) But at downloading VFXCental i needed to use my Phone's Hotspot, otherwise VFXCentral.zip wouldnt have downloaded. Hi, I'm using the latest Version of DX10 Scenery Fixer. When I will install DX10CloudShadows160 it comes to an failure. If i press OK, the Addon Menu is appearing in DX10 Scenery Fixer, but i can not see "Shade with Metars". What goes wrong? Thanks for your help.

Hello I purchased FS2020 on DVD because although I have a 38Mbps internet connect I thought the DVD install might be quicker and I wanted the printed manual too. Possibly this was correct since I managed to install it from DVD in about 3 hours. I then went to the MS Store and registered the product and attempted to download the remaining software, presumably the game loader. This appears to be only about 1GB in total. However this small download failed with MS telling me I needed to have 127GB free on my hard drive, but I only had 80GB left available. The 127GB sounds like what you would need if you were downloading the entire package, but of course I had aleady installed that from DVD. Does this sound like a bug to you, or am I missing something? I have now ordered a larger hard drive which hopefully will enable me to get around this problem! Thanks for your feedback Robin

Hi Guys, would love if someone can assist me with the installation of Pilot2ATC for xplane 11. I have followed the installation guidelines in the manual, and everything has installed perfectly. As soon as you startup Pilot2ATC it gets to +- 5% loading, and after 5minutes or so gives a long complex error message regarding the programing Unable to initialize Database, with various sql errors. Do I need to install any sql server products et cetera for Pilot2Atc to run, or am I missing something ? Please help.

Since my Gaming Services app in in an install loop, and my free Game Pass subscription ends tomorrow, I will have to try a Windows Reset before installing the Premium Deluxe version for which I have bought a code from Amazon (i.e. I have not bought an upgrade through the Game Pass version). I've been on Windows version 1909 without problems until now but I will try upgrading to version 2004 before the reset, just in case that solves my issues (which include a number of previous system updates failing to re-install after I tried a System Restore). So, what is the best procedure? 1) What should I back up? So far: Community Folder, Flight Plans. Anything else? 2) What will happen to my progress/game save? MSFS is linked to the user's MS account, but will a fresh install link to my current installation's profile/game save or only start a new profile, losing my 198hrs logged time and achievements? 3) What should be my workflow? Obviously, backing up what I can from #1 above before anything else. Then probably resetting Windows and hopefully finding I can still access current MSFS installation again (Perhaps having to re-install it, depending on what the Windows reset does to it). But what then? Do I completely uninstall the Game Pass game, and does it prompt me to keep my saved progress? And will I then be able to link my new install to that save? My main concern is retaining my progress, I don't think it will be too hard to sort out my settings as I haven't made dramatic alterations since installation. Best advice from anyone who has taken that route from Game Pass version to full (non-Game Pass) version would be appreciated. No 'best guesses' please.🙂 Thank you. Hi I have a licensed DVD from Aerosoft which proved difficult to install onto my Win7 64bit system. The DVD just spun in the drive and refused to install to my 1TB HDD. Eventually I got it onto a 100GB SSD where it worked in the same PC system, but with no room for all the other things I use in FSX. Then I could not uninstall (same DVD problem as before). After many (>20) tries it uninstalled, but when I install it to my HDD there is no training flight. The MD-11 will load into FSX but engines are running with no panels lit, no PMDG in the drop-down menu and the yoke hard to port. Loading liveries is hit and miss; some do and some don't. Any ideas, please - as at the moment I seem to have a very expensive coaster in my hangar? Thanks Linden Crundall

Everytime when I try to install FSX on Windows 10(64-bit) the installation is almost finished. But when it says "Registrating Modules", an error occures and the setup aborts the installation. I need hlp, because I alreay re-installed Win10 and I actually just want to test my freshly bought PMDG 777&737 and Airbus A320/321!

Hi, i bought the DHC-2 on the flash sale as my first Milviz aircraft. Now my normal installation procedure (in times of v4) is to first install sceneries or aircraft to a dummy folder with just an prepar3d.exe in it. Then i move the folders to my preferred custom directories, copy the effects to my main custom effects and so on, generate my xml's and whatever. Business as usual in the meantime and generally working flawlessly afterwards. After the Beaver installation i immediately thought i maybe will run into some difficulties this time because of the MVAMS directory with its files or maybe the xmltools.dll. Anyway, i moved the folders to my preferred custom locations and started the sim (P3Dv4). Okay, first problem when i loaded the Beaver was a lot of tiny windows each telling me a specific sound file wasn't found in ..panel\mvsounds. Afterwards i saw there was no ...panel\mvsounds folder at all, but a DHC-2 Beaver Milviz\DHC-2_XML_Sounds folder containing all these missing sound files. Just for the fun of it i created a ..panel\mvsounds folder and copied the sound files into it. Next time loading the aircraft i had no more messages of missing sound files and i could hear (probably) the correct sounds. But yes, it just didn't feel like a correct installation to me... And yes, it was me doing this. And even more the MVAMS tool seems not to work. For example, directly after the installation and BEFORE moving any folders i choosed the GTN750 but then, after moving my folders and loading the aircraft the first time there were only the standard avionics. Again, after manually adding the panel=GTN750 in the aircraft.cfg the GTN was there and working. So the bottom line is, is it somehow possible to install the aircraft into a directory outside the main sim folder and without having to manually editing or moving files afterwards? BTW i don't even know if everything is working properly now as i didn't spend much time in the aircraft so far and, as i said, it definitely "feels" like a weird patchwork what i did. If everything will work as it should now, i maybe would keep my installation (and never touch it again..) but i would always wonder if i could have had it in a more straightforward installation. And some problems still resist anyway like the other options in the MVAMS because the tool doesn't work with my installation. Any clarification appreciated! Thanks.

Hey folks, after trying to sign up and create a bug report on the "official" MSFS forums and realizing I'll have to wait a certain time there, I signed up here. In the recent days (!), I've been installing City Update I. Days, because once you click update, you can't abort it any more, and if you haven't maxed out your download bandwith in the settings, you're out of luck. However, after the update was finally installed today, I noticed that it wiped my whole community folder clean. Not even the community folder, it basically completely reset the whole simulator. All Microsoft-Asobo content, world updates, Maverick update etc, everything was removed. Does anyone have an explanation for this? I'll have to redownload all world updates now, so PSA, always backup your Community folder and downloaded world updates before installing anything new from the Marketplace from Microsoft. Maybe this will help save at least someone from this utter chaos.

Title says it all. I just went to install an addon plane and the install package directed me to my C drive - my HDD. I thought it was a mistake, that it was just assuming that's where my v5 install was. But no, that's where I installed it. Questions: How bad is it vs. having it installed on my SSD? I'm assuming performance is better on the SSD (not to mention the fact that the whole reason I have an SSD is for gaming). If I want to get it on my D drive (SSD), can I just copy and paste the whole P3Dv5 folder over? I'm assuming the answer to that is no. Which means that I have to uninstall and re-install the whole thing, correct? It wouldn't really be that big a deal, I still have the download and I haven't installed any addons.. Advice appreciated.
