A FEW SHOTS!

I have no idea when it will be released, but they released the paint kit to the Beta Team painters (and I happen to be one) ๐ This one will be ready for your hangar when they release it (Trust me...I have no clue when that will be...I'm not on the team that has that info...and even if I were...you know I can't tell ya!) ๐

Not the plastic surgery kind..the painting planes in flightsim kind...hehe. This is some of the detailed work that goes into paints....(one's having all these items) Starting with one of the hardest things a painter has to deal with..... painting TEXT near the tip of the nose. With KLM....you have a double-whammy because they paint A330-300 under the nose cone and the last letters of the reg (in my case KF) above the cockpit. To get a good idea of what painters have to deal with painting on a 2d map that gets wrapped around a 3d model...in this case a cylindrical tube that tapers at the end (i.e. nose)...try this: Get a balloon and a Sharpie With the balloon deflated, write your name on it. Blow up the balloon. See how distorted your name is? Get another deflated balloon and try to write your name so it will be perfectly straight and not warped in any axis once it's blown up. ๐ Also worth noting is that these areas are right against part boarders....one pixel too far and the texture goes off into the land of lost pixels ๐ Its a lot of trial and error to get it looking somewhat right...moving text one pixel at a time and seeing how it looks in the sim. A lot of work but in the end the results can be great! Other tidbits I added you see noted by the yellow arrows.... The cockpit frame is not painted (On KLM it's not...on others it is...) The red paint extends down the panel line on the "No Tow" paint on the nose gear door. The sensor has a gray/metallic color inside the red The array of sensors near the bottom...on KLM...has an extra set of "seal before washing" brackets The rain gutters are 3d on this plane...thus have corresponding 3d parts on the 2d map that have to be painted...1st you gotta find them on the map hehe...then remember to paint them. They stick out like sore thumbs when you have a non-white top fuse. You'd be surprised how many paints are missing this detail. I hope to have this one ready soon for you crazy simmers to blast out of Schiphol with. ๐
