MS Flight will be out roughly (maybe) about the same time Windows 8 comes out, and we all know that windows 8 utilizes the use of touch screens (tablet and desktop) more details to be announced during September BUILD conference, would you think that it's a good idea to have MS Flight supporting this new trend in computer interface by allowing control of most of the switches directly on the screen?

AVSIM Publisher Tom Allensworth and the staff of AVSIM Online interview Joshua Howard, Team Lead for MS' FLIGHT, their next generation flight simulator. Tom Allensworth begins the interview with; "Joshua, we met in December when you and your team were gracious enough to invite a number of organizations in the Flight Simulation Community to Seattle to discuss the next product in the MS Flight Simulation genre; FLIGHT. Since then FLIGHT has been launched and the anticipation that had built up over many months has been addressed.". You can read the full interview with Joshua here.

Hi, All,Does anyone notice the instrument in the cockpit? They actually have Nav Radio, Altimeter tune and trim etc. Also, the legends of the map show available VOR, NDB and ILS, and the airport gives the radio frequency info.So I guess the interface of modeling instruments and other details has already built in the game. Can anyone confirm if this MS flight is a framework or not? That means the API can be invoked by third-party addons, or MS studio could release an SDK for further extension. Can someone explain? If MS Flight is completely like what currently has, I could say that's too disappoint for simmers, and it is a definitely childlish game.If MS Flight currently is a demo or beta test, and will provide the API and SDK in next several months, I would say this is a great aviation simulation framework. All could expect more and more third-party addons to add the complexity and realism. That's truely great! Because the current multi-core optimization and graphic effect is far better than FSX.Does anyone get in-depth into MS Flight and research this?I hope we could hear some office announcement to confirm the position of this product.Thanks.

I would like those who are enjoying MS Flight to consider trying Flight Simulator X, or FSX, the previous generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator.Available as different versions, most notably the original Flight Simulator X and Flight Simulator X Deluxe, but now available as FSX Gold which includes the Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition and FSX Acceleration Expansion Pack, FSX is the best bang-for-your-buck when it comes to flight simulators and flight games. FSX Gold is available from online retailers and brick and mortar stores worldwide.FSX Gold comes packed with 27 individual flyable aircraft:This is not a complete list but just a sample of what is available!General Aviation- Piper J-3 Cub- Cessna 172 Skyhawk- Cessna 208 Caravan- Beechcraft Baron 58Classics- DC-3- P-51D - Grumman G-21 Goose AmphibianCommercial Aircraft- Airbus A321- CRJ-700 Regional Jet- Boeing 737- Boeing 747 Jumbo JetHelicopters- Bell 206 Jetranger - Robinson R-22FSX Gold is also packed with scenery that spans the entire globe! Many of these missions include complete voiceovers and range from simple landings in the beautiful Carribean, to delivering workers to the secretive Area-51 from Las Vegas in a Boeing 737! (watch out for an occasional UFO...)After you've flown all of the included aircraft and missions to your heart's content, why not visit the file library here at Avsim.com, or at Flightsim.com and Simviation.com or the other hundreds of Flight Simulator websites and try some of the excellent free content that has been created by the Flight Simulator Community? Free additions include new aircraft and helicopters, photo-real scenery, other scenery enhancements, or new and exciting missions! The single greatest thing about FSX is that for no more than the cost of the base software, which is anywhere from $29.99 to $39.99 USD, an entire world of possibilites opens up without having to purchase any additional content!A Third-Party Development scene is also very active for Flight Simulator X! Hi Guys,Im new here in the forum and Im new in flight simulators too, but I have alot of experience in play online with Xbox and I would like to share my knowledge about this. I searched here in the forum but didnt find any topic about this subject.MS Flight use the same network that Xbox to play online with Game for Windows Live and so the same rules to play in Xbox apply to play online with MS Flight. You need to open some ports in your Router to use Live in the best way, if you don't open this ports you still play online but with some limitations, for example: if your NAT is moderate you connect to others games but no one connects to you your game even if your game is public; some times if two players have NAT moderate they can not hear each other; and some times others players cant hear you. You need to know a little about your router to enable Port Forward, one of the best sites to find information is www.portforward.comThe ports to open are: Port 88 (UDP)Port 3074 (UDP e TCP) <--- this is the most important port to open.If in the future MS Flight will have Kinect support and you like to use Kinect to talk, you will probably need to open this port too:Port 1863 (UDP e TCP) but in the moment you don't need to worry about.Thats it!PS.: Sorry about the bad english.
