This is for you @Will Fly For Cheese. ๐ I was literally about to hit the post button replying to @leprechaunlive about a pic in celebration of the Mooney fix. Here what I was going to say as well: I know right? Hehe....he's a one shot wonder! ๐ Phenomenal shots and composition...just light on the volume of shots per thread. ๐ Ok...in my best filou copycat....Just pulled her out on to the ramp. Forgot my glasses so this is really what it looked like to me! ๐คฃ My passion for screenshots is a parallel to the passion I have for the sim. In a job where I look at text all day long...seeing beautiful aircraft...from short and stubby quick singles to "twins" that, based on the number of them, and ( . )Y( . ) on the youtube circuit these days....I much prefer seeing the occasional pic of "them" hehe vs a description of them. ๐

@Gregg_Seipp - You'll have to account for my less than ideal AA settings (and lack of 4k) in these pic :-

The first leg of my journey across the United States was a short ride from Tacoma Washington to Portland International. The flight plan was straightforward with a direct course to HELNS and arriving via the HELNS6 arrival. I avoided the clouds during the middle of my climb to 9,000 feet; the air temperature was conducive to icing, and I don't have a TKS anti-ice system! I burned nine gallons of fuel on the 53 minute trip. Getting ready to leave on the ramp at KTIW Cruising above the clouds A blinding approach into Portland

Leg two of my trip across the U.S. was slightly more eventful. I departed Portland at 5:46 A.M. with clear skies and a beautiful sunrise. Clouds continued to build enroute to Santa Barbara, and the METAR for KSBA showed a ceiling of 600 feet! Luckily, I broke out of the soup at a bit over 1,000 feet AGL on ILS runway 7. The flight duration from wheels up to touchdown was 3:58. KPDX/10L CASCD2 DSD DCT LMT DCT KAGYE V25 GARSA T261 MOVDD DCT PXN T329 MQO DCT GVO KSBA/GVO.I07

msfs $300 Hamburger (Trip to Elizabeth Field)
ryanbatc posted a topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
A somewhat short flight from Turners Falls 0B5 to Elizabeth Field 0B8 (with touch and goes at Goodspeed 42B and Chester Co KSNC). Haven't taken the Mooney in a long time. It's a very capable aircraft - mine is turbocharged for mountain flying - here in the flatland of the East Coast of the USA it's good for carrying more and operating in hot and humid weather. 2300 ft is the longest runway at 0B8 - I took RY 25 for the headwind today and it's quite short at 1800 ft. A little tight for the Mooney but as long as you stay just above stall speed with the power in (till short final) it's easy to stop in time. I had no issues today. I didn't take any photos leaving Turners but it was a nice area with this large winding river and what appeared to be a quaint town. I mostly followed the river down to 42B, performed a touch and go and headed west towards Chester, then departed and turned east towards Elizabeth. You can see Block Island State (KBID) across the sound. Beyond Block Island is Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket - there's plenty of freeware and payware here in the New England/Cape Cod area of the USA. Please Enjoy! The last 3 or 4 Carenado and Alabeo purchases for me, have resulted in regrets. This one hasn't. I like it. It's immersive and atmospheric. Those expecting a shiny new Mooney with 0 hours on the Hobbs will be disappointed. This is an older aircraft. Not 70s older but perhaps 90s I'd guess? It's just nicely worn in, in the right places. Luckily this is exactly how I like my aircraft addons. :) Texturing is the usual high quality Alabeo job. Hard to fault in any area. In an unusual move, Alabeo offer two complete seperate aircraft installations - one standard and one 'lite'. I mean completely different aircraft folder, and you need to (for example) activate the GTN750 in both. Not sure why they've take this approach - guess there must be a benefit. This is the lite model, as I've afraid P3Dv4 doesn't perform great with my modest system. Engine sounds themselves are nice - very nice to me - throaty!! BUT...... Alabeo have been lazy and are definitely reusing a starter and cut sound from another aircraft. I recognise it (I think it's the Saratoga IITC) and the starter / cut sounds just don't blend in with the main engine sounds. Took it for a quick circuit - I have zero knowledge, experience or authority with Mooneys but all I can say is that it flies nicely, feels convincing and immersive. There are enough Mooney oddities to make things interesting in the aircraft and not just like 'every other Alabeo'. Eg... The fuel pump switch is under a plastic guard that must be flipped. Other cockpit controls are in unusual places and well, it's clear this isn't a Cessna or Piper. It's immersive and I think most simmers will enjoy it. I think that the 'lite' model shown in these pics, uses 1024 textures in the VC. I'd guess the 'full' version uses 4096 as per Alabeo/Carenado standards. Don't forget you'll have to tweak the VC_Texture setting in the Prepar3d.cfg to get VC textures above 1024 !! (Click on each pic to see it full size).

A great shot of the morning walkaround before a flight out of Catalina...with my flashlight in hand! One thing I REALLY like about the Mooney...and maybe all CA aircraft, that I'm sure is a bug (that I hope they dont fix!!!)...you can move outside the cockpit in cockpit view...which...like in no other airplane, allows you to do a virtual walkaround WITH YOUR FLASHLIGHT! ๐ Pretty handy at night or when the sun is just coming up. ๐ I hope they never fix this "bug".
