  1. Hi, This is my first post on the forum so if this is the wrong way to ask these sort of questions then please do let me know. When I try to load my P3D v4.1 it hangs on the splash screen permantely. But if I turn off my PC and the power-supply switch and wait a while, after turning it all back on it apears to load. I wouldnt know if this is a system issue or a P3D issue itself. If any more info regarding addons or more system specs let me know and I'll be happy to provide it to you all :) Specs: CPU: i7 7700K 16GB RAM GPU: AMD R9 380

  3. Hi Bryan, I am loving your product for the PMDG 747, but I am having an issue which I would like to share with you. I have been experiencing for some time P3D V4.1 CTD when closing the Sim every time I use the PMDG 747. This is on a fresh Win10 Home and P3D V4.1 install and started to happen after a few flights. Every other addon aircraft is OK, it is only the 747 which is causing this problem. I have followed every indication I have found on the forums, but I was not able to fix the problem. Then I started looking at the latest addons I had installed before the problem showed up and what I have found is that if I remove FS2Crew QOTS II the problem disappears. I have no idea what can be the rationale behind this, as it happens on a very clean system and during the flight it works flawlessly, yet the simple fact is that if I install FS2Crew and load the PMDG 747 then the Sim crashes on exit. I have also FS2Crew for the T7 and the NGX and they don't have this problem. This is the typical report I have: Description Faulting Application Path: C:\Prepar3D V4\Prepar3D.exe Problem signature Problem Event Name: BEX64 Application Name: Prepar3D.exe Application Version: 4.1.7.22841 Application Timestamp: 59d67e95 Fault Module Name: ucrtbase.dll Fault Module Version: 10.0.16299.214 Fault Module Timestamp: e71e5dfe Exception Offset: 000000000006b79e Exception Code: c0000409 Exception Data: 0000000000000007 OS Version: 10.0.16299.2.0.0.768.101 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 8a08 Additional Information 2: 8a08f4d9b67b1d85799277666db9a645 Additional Information 3: a315 Additional Information 4: a31580dea7ba6cd4caf8a010e50c91c7 The Fault Module Name (ucrtbase.dll), according to the CTD guide on the forum, would seem to indicate a problem related to Microsoft Visual Studio C++ installation, but on my system I have all versions (both 32 and 64b) up to the latest update. I would like your opinion on the above Thanks and best regards Ciao Ezio
  4. Hi! Can anyone help me? I have been bothered and struggling with this issue for a period of time. All of a sudden, all add-ons of P3D v4.1 stopped working, including FSUIPC, GSX, Chaseplane, and all other add-ons, etc. No matter which aircraft I load, default or Custom aircraft, after I start the flight, I would find that all the programs in the Add-ons tab. stopped working, including those not listed in the tab, like Chaseplane. What can I do? Thanks! I haven't installed any add-ons before this happened. It happened all of a sudden. My system: Windows 10 pro. 64 bit, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD
  5. Hi everyone I've recently started to use PSXseecon along with RealTraffic but I have a rather peculiar problem. The pair work great at most airports but at certain airports (EDDF for example) the PSXseecon injects all the parked aircraft, but no live traffic, and after a few seconds the PSXseecon client crashes with no warning or error and all the parked traffic disappear too. If I run the pair on a networked PC basically the same thing happens with the difference being PSXseecon client freezes and causes the entire client system to freeze too and I have to restart the client PC. Any help or assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks
  6. Is anyone working on the conversion of the 32 Bit $F18_A_GAUGES1.dds and FA_18.dll to 64 Bit? I used the Migration Tool program to move all my FSX AC into P3D V4.1 and everything made it over with the exception of the F-18. I even tried moving the AC and gauges over manually: no joy. There are now just hollow spaces where the PFD/MFD used to be. I've searched the web and forums extensively: no joy. I've downloaded and installed all available freeware F-18: no joy. And yes, I have C++ 2005 and the FSX SDK: still no joy. It appears the only V4.1 compatible F-18 is the VRS Superbug for $60. Normally this would not bother me but I had already purchased the FSX version some time ago for $50 and their web site states the FSX version will "break" if moved to P3D. Now they want you to pay full boat for the P3D V4.1 without any discounts for your prior purchase. Now, if you are upgrading from a previous version of P3D there is a small discount. If you are an FSX user you can pay their $7.95 maintenance fee for access to find out that all you'll get is the latest FSX version and no way to upgrade to P3D V4.1. I fully understand that VRS should be compensated for their work but for them to pocket a total of my investment of $118 seems a little excessive. Inquires to VRS have fallen on deaf ears. I digress; is anyone currently working on a conversion or am I just not savvy enough to figure this out after ten years of simming? Please advise if able.
  7. Good morning, Bryan, I'm experiencing the issues that I have explained in other PMDG thread. Turns out that FS2Crew generates some P3D CTDs without mentioning a module to blame. Clicking on both radio stacks and right PFD generates these CTD. Also, automatic fuel management in-flight creates the same sort of errors. Meanwhile, flying without FS2Crew generates zero crashes and CTDs. Please see the initial thread Also, in order to start the troubleshooting, here is my panel cfg. Your help would be much appreciated // (DO NOT REMOVE) VFXCentral Version #1507822137# ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // // // PMDG 777 // 8. Hello all, I have a problem with p3d v4.1 and PMDG 747! I used this bird P3d v 3.4 no any problem until "child window error" After this problem, I start to use V4.1urged by necessity. Now I don't see range ring on ND! How can I eliminate this issue, Any idea? Regards. Serhan
  9. Been out for a while with my real world flying (getting to grips with the 777! I must say the PMDG 777 prepared me very well). Anyway, here are some shots recently to get my mind off the "big jets". Cheers images for upload
  10. Trouble installing B747 on P3d v4.1

Hi, I just recently installed Prepar3d v4.1 on my computer. However when I tried to install the B747, it said that an old version of Prepar3d was detected. I had already uninstalled the old version. I even formatted the hard drive that it had been previously installed on ut it still sais the same thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. BTW the old version v4 worked fine. Thanks.
  11. Morse code sounds for LOC?

I have moved on to P3D v4.1 and have the NGX installed. I do not use the default ATC in P3D. Since flying the NGX, I keep hearing the Morse code for the Localizer ( I guess) when I am starting my approach. I don't remember having that previously and was wondering if I can mute it? Thanks
  12. Hi all... I’ve started getting the following messages when tried to launch MCE on P3D V4 "Could not start Splash Screen" followed by "Application already running time copilot definitely aboard, just look around, if the some reason you cannot see the window all the tray icon etc.. Please use Kill tool process tool provided" Basically although it says program is running, and processes is running in the background (viewed in TASK manager) but no icon or menu box etc I have tried the follow, as per instructions but still getting the same problem, any ideas on what could be causing this... any support you can offer would be fantastic 1. killed and restarted program 2. reinstalled MCE (with up to date program) 3. Re-run Set Up Wizard
  13. Hello! I have never done one of these benchmark style write ups so I apologize if my method is extremely crude and not at all scientific. I just wanted to give an idea of performance. I have been using a computer that has had 8GB of RAM, a GTX 1080 ti, a 2700k OCed to 4.8GHZ on air and conventional hard drives for the past 6 years. I finally decided to build a whole new computer to take advantage of the hype surrounding the 8700k. Here is my experience! Rig: NZXT S340 ELITE case Gigabyte Auros Z370 Gaming 7 motherbaord i7-8700k Oced to 5.0 GHz @ 1.305v Kraken x62 AIO GTX 1080 ti @4k Corsair Vengance RGB 16GB @3000MHz CL15 Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 SSD 500GB (P3d v4.1 and W10 64-bit boot drive) Samsung 850 EVO SATAIII 250GB storage drive Corsair CX 850w PSU I have always found that the KSFO area has always been the place that taxes my sim the most. I know most agree that KSEA is the place but for me, its always been KSFO. I decided to do my testing with the weather theme "Heavy Thunderstorms" in order to put clouds and precip in the mix. I also went with night time as the time and day in order to test Dynamic Lighting performance. I used PMDG 747 QOTSII and two airports. FlightBeam's KSFOHD v2 (airport Dynamic Lighting OFF) and FlightBeam's KDENv2 (airport Dynamic Lighting ON). I used different Dynamic Lighting settings for these 2 airports to show the performance hit when having that option selected. I decided to go with these P3d.cfg tweaks. [TERRAIN] TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=9 TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=10 was awesome to see but I noticed that autogen was pooping up in large square chunks about 10-12 miles in front of me and looked really bad. IT also slowed down loading times significantly. During my use of level 10 of this tweak, I noticed VRAM usage hovering around 8 GB. I do have the NORCAL ORBX region installed at the moment as well. I deselected all the options that have a "Larger impact" on performance in the ORBX configurator. These included wind farms, Oakland bay area ships and cranes as well as docks and marinas. In most situations, the hardest time our sim has is when there is bad weather and while we are at a detailed add-on airport; as well when we are on final to said airports. With the introduction of Dynamic Lighting, that has thrown in a variable that cripples performance in most situations. All this being said, I did 8 scenarios...(weather theme of "Heavy Thunderstorms" and Night time) on runway 28L @ KSFO with all light OFF and then with all lights ON on final to runway 28L @ KSFO with all lights OFF and then with all lights ON On runway 26 @ KDEN with all lights OFF and then with all lights ON On final to runway 35L @ KDEN with all lights off and then with all lights ON Here are my settings I used in P3D v4.1 Here are pictures of the First two scenarios. (the FPS counter is on the top left) Lights OFF... Lights ON... Lights ON...looking away from the main terminal buildings and having Lights out of view... Spot Plane with Lights ON... Here are pictures of the second two scenarios. (FPS counter on top Left) Lights OFF... Lights ON... Here are pictures of Third two scenarios. (FPS Top Left) Lights OFF... Lights ON... Lights ON...looking away from main terminal buildings and having Lights out of view... Spot plane with Lights OFF... Here are pictures of the Fourth two scenarios. (FPS top left) Lights OFF... Lights ON... I topped out at around 8.2 GB of RAM and I saw VRAM usage hover around 3.8 GB. (VRAM usage was a lot lower than I expected it to be.) CPU temps hovered around high 60s and at times, crept into low 70s. CPU usage stayed around 70-90% I decided to show the difference in performance between two different airports with two different Dynamic Lighting settings in order to show how the lights hurt performance. What surprised me was that at KDEN, I barely noticed a performance hit with both the airport and the airplane having Dynamic Lights on. However, at KSFO, I noticed a big performance hit with ONLY AIRCRAFT Dynamic Lighting on. I also noticed that having KSFO airport Dynamic lighting on brought my FPS down to 15fps with all aircraft lights ON and it hovered around 20 FPS with all aircraft lighting OFF. As a side note, I did not notice a performance hit at all with all aircraft lights ON at LatinVFR's KSNA while using all PMDG airplanes. It seems as if the performance hit from the Dynamic lights depends on how the airport was developed???? Who knows. That's all I have for now. I'm sorry that this was such a rough test but I just wanted to show what the 8700k does fro P3d v4.1 as well as show those of you who have a 2xxxk i7 what the upgrade will bring if you do decide to upgrade to an 8700k.
  14. Dear fellow pilots, after upgrading to P3D v4.1, I downloaded the latest PMDG737-800/900 pack (V1.20.8465) and installed it under Win10 with Administrative privileges. Now, whenever I start P3D (as Administrator !), select the 737 in the scenario setup and hit OK, I always get a warning: "PMDG Debug: Warning: the PMDG product was unable to create its work files. Please make sure that you are running Prepar3D as administrator." and P3D quits. Everything is already running as Administrator. I am stuck and really appreciate any suggestions !!! Thank you very much in advance !!! Holger Schneider
  15. Friction bug?

I started having an odd issue yesterday. Aircraft seems to take a lot more thrust to get moving and stay moving. For example I loaded the default scenario with the F-22 and i had to spool the engines up to 60% to get moving and stay moving. I've tried other aircraft and it continues to happen. It's almost as if the aircraft is stuck in mud. I've changed the weight to see if that would help but, it still seems like the aircraft is stuck in mud. I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of p3d and it didn't change. I figured it may be a calibration issue but, my controllers check out. I also reset the key mapping to default to insure there was no conflicts with brakes and my rudder pedals but, again no change. My computer specs are i7-7700, 16gb ram, gtx 1060, win 10. I do not use fsuicp because I've never felt the need to. I have addons but, this was an issue with a clean version of 4.1. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. - Sigmund Horn
  16. Post your PTA Presets Here. No off Topic Thank you. Please add Pictures and any Links of a location of the Preset. This is a Comunity guide only, and a proper place for all our Presets with personal opinions and recommendations thank you. Hope you agree that it would be helpful to have a place for our community presets without going off topic, Thanks. Will kick off with a preset I'm currently using and happy with until my own is ready. Thank you. Just took a quick flight across England East-West starting at EGNM.Pilot Pete PTA Preset More recent than the last one I found from his youtube channel, must say really like this one. My PC ain't the best but until I upgrade will do for now and looks pretty good with his Preset, which he seems to upgrade regularly so sure after PTA for 4.1 he's probably working on a new one. Like most, I'm working on my own too, but this one is Topline IMO, realistic look. Of course everyone to there own choices, but hey he certainly knows his stuff, respect man. Used with FTX Global Base Pack, open LC Europe, ORBX England, AS, and Rex
  17. Hi all, I'm glad to announce that PTA v2.60 is now available via your order page on the https://www.simtweaks.com website - feel free to download and try it out. Some new features are: - P3D v4.1 Compatibility - No popcorn tweak has been completely rewritten. The old algorithm which worked in v3 doesn't render correctly in v4 resulting in grey clouds within a close proximity to your viewpoint - Alternate tone map tweak has been improved - this basically stops clouds from being too bright when you have bloom set using HDR - Separate lighting adjustments for aircraft externally and internally - now you can adjust the lights for the VC separately to the external model - Added an adjustable parameter to reduce cloud brightness at varying stages of the 24hr day cycle (dawn/day/dusk/night) - Added a new tweak which allows separate adjustment of HDR bloom during the 24hr day cycle (dawn/day/dusk/night) All presets from PTA 2.5X are compatible The old values of the "Aircraft lighting & saturation" tweak now appear in the "Aircraft lighting & saturation" tweak. If you used only the VC adjustments, please use the new tweak, "Aircraft VC lighting & saturation". How to update: PTA v2.60 requires a fresh install in separate directory Please backup your presets and delete any old versions of PTA 2.50(-2.52). Install PTA v2.60 and then activate it. If you have any issues regarding this update, please post below or send an email to matt.davies@projectfly.co.uk Thanks for your patience & continued support. Matt.
  18. Flytampa Install

They say corfu does not need anything! I have it installed within v3.4 Can I XML them into v4.1? / link them from were there installed within 3.4. Or just install straight into 4.1?
  19. Mega Airport Barcelona professional is out. Or better to say Simwings Barcelona is out. I am Download now. 5.4GB Simwings, So hopefully good. UK2000 Airports installed using the way LM wanted Aerosoft call they v4 "professional" because there for P3d v4 and they install into the main folder. Unreal in more ways than one.
