  1. I purchased this aircraft knowing mostly what would work (and what wouldn't). The price is okay for a addon of this category (I'd say a light-medium). It says for P3D v4.4 and up....though I'm not certain why... I don't see any PBR textures unless I'm missing something obvious. If you are considering it I suggest waiting for the first SP. Reason being, at the moment, neither the Flight1 or RXP GTN integration works very well. The autopilot will not follow the GTN's track. NAV mode cannot even be engaged with the GTN present in the cockpit. Also the clickspots weren't working by default for the RXP but that's an easy fix by setting the RXP GTN to "use simulator gps commands." That aside, I was happy they decided to place the GTN on the main panel, and not where the FMS usually goes. Note that I am NOT using the FMS, but they say it's Navigraph compatible etc etc. I did some brief hand flying low and up and altitude and it's not bad. It's what I would expect from one of their addons. The FADEC system does appear to be at least basically modeled. Essentially, you put the throttles in certain detents, depending on your phase of flight and the FADEC adjusts power for that detent/phase of flight. (That's my basic answer hah). I have yet to do a cold n dark startup. I did read some users were having issues starting the APU. Apparently it should just start with the switch but in this sim version you need to turn on the right boost pump first. There are plenty of interior switch sounds/ambient noises associated with this addon, which is nice. The gauges are mostly legible, the center MFD is a bit hard to read (but it appears to be a re-skinned version of the default GNS). There are some quirky bugs I filed with Carenado like the wind direction on the EHSI is backwards (the arrow points to the direction the wind is coming from - should be 180 degrees off that). Sometimes when changing ASEL, it is not possible to scroll through 1000's (have to select altitude in 100's which takes a while - the tooltip says a right click will activate 1000's but INOP for me). Aside from the GTN NAV autopilot issues above, the AP does work just fine. For once FLC mode seems to work properly. I initially climbed out at 250 kias, then I used around mach .70 for a cruise climb. I think a value of .60 would be more appropriate as MMO is .75 (this yields around 420 ktas in optimal conditions - I did about 400 ktas at FL410). I guess that's why they call it a Slowtation. Visually, it's Carenado, but again no PBR that I can see. I was a little disappointed by that. Their models are very (overly) shiny...and this one is no different. Though in my shots I'm using ENVTEX/SHADE which can sometimes make highlights brighter. Once they iron out the NAV issue, I'll be happier. It does appear that the GTN is interfacing with the FMS HSI correctly....so you can still hand fly it, and even RNAV (GPS) approaches with LPV minimums show the glide slope on the PFD. If you're on the fence about a bizjet, the Flysimware Lear 35 is a better purchase. 12. Hi Everyone, I had to do a reinstall of P3D v3, and the picture shows how so the American midwest and heartland are covered with all of these brown farms with ORBX FTX +OpenLC North America. This wasn't like that before, everything was nice and green, and this is not a seasonal thing because the textures are the same in spring and summer. I don't remember there being so much brown everywhere, and I'm wondering if it's a problem related to the new installer and updated files. I also don't have any other landclass or mesh products installed, and as far as I know, the order in the scenery library is exactly as it was before. One thing that I thought would be the problem was installing ENVTEX grass, but the problem remained after I undid that and reinstalled everything again. So, I'm stuck. I was using v3.4 for 6 months with beautiful green until yesterday when this started showing up, and for the life of me I can't figure this out. Anyone have any ideas? And, yes, I did post this in the ORBX forum, but I thought I'd throw it in here to see if anyone else encountered this difference. This screenshot is from p3d v3, just south of Chicago...but this patchwork seems to be around the region. Thanks, John
  13. Hello, only tested it in P3D v4 and the PMDG 777 and 747 (CP version 0.3.0), but the issue is with both planes: when in cinematic mode in 1 out of 5 new views (when it automatically switches the view) the airplane is not inside the frame. Thanks for any help, Jan
  14. A few weeks ago, I found out that the website that publishes European photoscenery for free, now has also all of New Zealand on offer (also for free). I have downloaded all 16 files (size: 1 GB each), combined them to a single folder and installed them in my sim. They can be used for FSX, FSX-SE and all versions of P3D. I have stored all my photoscenery on an external 5 TB hard drive (standard HDD, no SSD). Within the flightsimulator, the scenery sits on top of my ORBX entries. The files come with their own autogen and in case you have ORBX NZNI and NZSI installed on your system, all ORBX airports plus all POI will show up. Next to ORBX, I have also installed payware from Godzone (Auckland and Tauranga). As you will see, all of this blends well with the photoscenery. This first part shows the North Island, the second part concentrates on the South Island. I have chosen as weather “clear skies”, so that the scenery is better visible. Here we are at the most northern tip of NZ: We follow the western shore to reach the 90 mile-beach Having crossed over to the east side in order to get a closer look at the Bay of Islands Now it’s on to Auckland, the city of sails North of Tauranga Further in the south of NZ’s North Island. Taking off from Wellington Intern. The autogen that is visible here is from ORBX Thanks for viewing. I have to admit that the scenery looks more impressive on my (larger) computer screen. If you are interested in downloading the scenery, here is the link: http://italyphotoreal.weebly.com/download.html You have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the NZ scenery. Btw, it has also scenery for the UK!
  15. We depart from the famous Red Bull “Hangar 7” in Salzburg, which does not only house some perfectly restored vintage planes, but also an excellent restaurant The scenery is from Austria Professional and the plane is the superb Ultralight Mitchell Wing U2, which is available free from the Aerosoft website: https://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/55526-get-your-free-mitchell-wing-v101-here/ Thanks for viewing
  16. I have the iFly GPS App on my mobile device for use in the real world, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience or knows how to connect this app to Prepar3D like you could with the Garmin Pilot app. Thanks, Caleb

  19. 20. I've owned the Flysimware Learjet 35A for quite some time. Recently the aircraft received an extensive texture/sound/PBR and overall upgrade. If you don't like reading reviews but you enjoy quality addons, I'd go to the Flysimware store and purchase this right away! It supports a myriad of addon avionics units (I'm running dual Reality XP GTN 750's). Other options are both Flight1 and RXP GNS430/530 units along with F1 GTN as well. There is also a standard "default" GNS from Flysimware. I've read there is a "Pro" version of the Lear coming later with FMS and perhaps a EHSI/PFD. If I'm not mistaken the FMS will have VNAV. I believe it's based around the Universal FMS 3000. Another huge improvement over the old version is the switch sounds, engine sounds, startup/shutdown and many other smaller sounds. I used headphones for my short flight and it sounded great! Perhaps the largest upgrade is the new incredible textures done by @Wickedbacon92. PBR has been added to the Lear's exterior and the interior is vastly improved, especially when viewed from the cabin. There are some cosmetic changes that the astute pilots will notice such as window shape and engine/fuel tank angles and sizes. Finally the flight modelling as been tuned and feels lovely while hand flying! There may some minor items remaining but response from the developer has always been positive. I would expect any outstanding issues to be addressed with a small service pack. This is a quick flight from my old place of work to my current location. Routing is KDLH AGUDE AGUDE5 KFCM. As I approach the Minneapolis area, the M98 tracon will vector aircraft directly over the MSP airport then descend them towards FCM. There is a very narrow "corridor" for this operation and they do a great job in real life! Enjoy!
