  1. Please read carefully! Due some testing I´ve did, I´ve found some strange differences between the new volumetricclouds.cfg file, LM delivered with P3D V5.2, and my prior files which I´ve got during BETA testing and even had before with 5.1. 12th Jun 2021 12:00 AM (German time): As I see this, at the moment and without having a feedback from LM yet, there are some missing lines in the config. At least this COULD be the PARTLY the cause some of you are having strange looking clouds! I´ve informed LM about this and will provide you feedback as soon as I know if my assumptions are correct or not. 12th Jun 2021 01:47 PM (German time): LM has confirmed that the volumetriccloud.cfg is correct and the changes are also correct! Conclusion: Gerards changes have a positive influence on the overall look of clouds. If you give Gerard (The Autor of this file) and me (positive enough) feedback here, I will parse the file to LM and ask them politely to use this and make it "the standard". How to proceed: Download his file here: Link to Volumetricclouds.cfg by GSalden provided Head to the directory: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 and find the file called: VolumetricClouds.CFG Rename this file in VolumetricClouds.CFG.OFF (This makes sure you don´t loose the original file) Copy and Paste GSalden file at the directory as named at 2 Delete your Shaders at: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5 Run P3D and test please (First without ASP3D or any other weather injector! Then test with ASP3D Provide screenshots and feedback in this thread please These Sceenshots I´ve made while using @GSalden his recently posted volumetriclouds.cfg and I find it really excellent work he did! I know how many hours it takes to change and tests in small incremental steps. I will do some further testing to make sure, visuals and performance are in balance (this seems to be the case with this cfg. file). First Two shots with GSalden his profile: FL 400 Volumetricclouds slider at MEDIUM 3 layers OC 1st Picture 2 layer OC 2nd picture Less waffles (not 100% eliminated but better) Enlarge the Pictures for full resolution please (Click on it)
  2. As I'd been thinking about trying a clean P3D install to let me use some of those old favourite aircraft that I miss in MSFS, when I saw that there was an update I grabbed it and went ahead. Complete removal of my unused 5.1 system and full fresh install of 5.2. Kept the folders from 5.1 in case I want to stick much of the scenery back on, but so far I've only bothered with the global Orbx stuff and TE Washington. Been very impressed, in the sense that all the stutters and pauses I was getting with 5.1 seem to have gone, and I'm getting smooth 30fps (capped) with everything maxed out in the settings and with EA and volumetric clouds on high. What's interesting (ish) is that I can see my cpu is hitting maybe 70% utilisation, with all 32 threads in use, but my Titan is cruising at maybe 20% and using only 5-6gb vram. Feels like LM have done some major work internally, and gets me all buzzed up about how MSFS might be once it goes to DX12. I can even wander around maxed out over London in TE GB without it being a slide show, but it looks so bad in comparison to the other sims that I have no desire to. Still way below MSFS in terms of looks, as far as I'm concerned, but at least I now feel it's worth getting it set up with all the aircraft I want to preserve for that environment. It's still #3 on my sim preference list though, after both MSFS and XP. Over Seattle in TE Washington Heading south from KHQM EA on (as in the above two shots) - and the same shot with EA off - I guess with a bit of tweaking it might become quite reasonable, but like I say, the main thing for me is having a usable platform for a whole currently idle hangar full of aircraft. If you've got room for it and you have a P3D license, even if you've given up on it, I'd recommend giving it a go. cheers, Andy

  4. Fantastic Airport, fantastic Aircraft, fantastic ... ESMS Malmö
  5. Having an issue with the sky texture. When flying at high altitude there is a perfect circle separating the sky, in realityt this circle looks more like a band around the sky. Appreciate any feedbackif this has a solution. https://mega.nz/file/jioAQaIa#ZrEZzDyjDtUwoX6wtynD4v3AzEzwCbeHcPztI9ESLjk
