msfs PILOT'S Cedar Key Airport (KCDK) For MSFS Released
PILOT'S posted a topic in PILOT'S General Forum
Ever wanted to challenge your landing skills on a short, carrier-deck type runway? Here is your chance! PILOT'S is proud to announce the release of their very first scenery add-on for MSFS, Cedar Key Airport (KCDK), which is officially on record for having the shortest paved public runway in the state of Florida. If you have never been to this part of the world, you are in for a real treat! Cedar Key has some of the most stunning sunrises and sunsets you have ever seen, as you can see on the screenshots below. Cedar Key Airport, officially known as George T. Lewis Airport, is uniquely located on a small island at Daughtry Bajou, on Florida’s North-Eastern Gulf Coast, and is connected to the mainland via the main Airport Road bridge, popularly called the Fishing Bridge. The airport is situated roughly halfway between Tallahassee and Tampa, and about 1 nautical mile west of Cedar Key’s central business district (CBD), in Levy County, Florida, United States. Cedar Key Airport has one main 718 x 30 meter (2355 by 100 feet) paved asphalt runway designated RWY 5 / RWY 23, with a displaced threshold on both sides, as well as one concrete helipad that is used by EMS and other rotary-wing aircraft. Some of the Cedar Key Airport for MSFS features are: ● 4K resolution textures ● Accurate representation of the 2020/2021 Cedar Key Airport layout ● Practice landing on the very challenging approach to the shortest paved public runway in Florida ● The runway features a displaced threshold on both ends ● No margin for error, there is water in the immediate proximity of both runway ends ● 64+ square kilometers custom crafted photoreal imagery ● Moving boat traffic featuring yachts and other watercraft ● 3D grass/trees custom vegation ● Realistic shadow rendition ● Special night light shadows textures ● Zeit-Dynamic scenery features create a unique and ever-changing airport environment ● Detailed water-masking for the airport vicinity ● Custom buildings for surrounding areas and lots of custom objects ● Fully optimized design for great performance and high frame rates -

Subsequent to the issues reported after last week's release, we're pleased to announce the availability of a HF1 patch! HF1 of the B314 addresses the following: Fixed: - comm radios tuning from mouse correctly - fuel transfer working correctly when driven from the handpump - all fuel transfer and handpump action ceases if the sim is paused - wrong normal map showing under the Passenger signal switches (FO's kneepad) - VC gyropilot heading tooltip - fuel pressure drops to 6psi at idle (950 - 1000 rpm) and goes to 7psi when the engines are throttled up Added: - mooring buoy behaviour changed so that aircraft no longer drifts when moored - if the mooring buoys are drawn in, any open doors are closed - weather station check for thunderstorms. If a storm is detected, the RDF needles will behave erratically

It's been a while since I fired up P3Dv4, I took a short flight on Monday from Zurich Kloten (LSZH) to the very interesting new Almeria Airport (LEAM) in Spain with the awesome Xtreme Prototypes Learjet 25D. Due to it's coastal proximity, LEAM is sure to offer any skilled pilot a real challenge, there were pretty strong 25 kt gusts on my arrival! The Reality XP GTN 750 and 650 did a great job in depicting the surrounding high terrain, it really is a combo that works superbly in the Lear 25D. For those that own the GTN 750, Almeria Airport offers full RNAV (GNSS) approaches with LNAV / VNAV guidance for both RWY 05 and RWY 25!

P3Dv4 PILOT'S FS Global Real Weather + Alaska
jzimmermann posted a topic in The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Just the one shot taking off in the Citation with PILOT'S FS Global Real Weather doing a great job in depicting the low clouds with very interesting lighting. It's definitely a great advantage having a weather engine that works with both P3Dv4 and XP11! -
Milviz has been very busy with the King Air 350i for quite some time. Every now and then I come across a post here at AVSIM that illustrates a complete lack of understanding just how much effort and energy is put into crafting a hardcore aircraft for FSX/P3D, one that is simulated with high accuracy, with very high fidelity, both visually and as far as system depth is concerned. The same goes for scenery, there is run-of-the-mill scenery and then there is scenery like PILOT'S Almeria Airport (LEAM), highly detailed, immensely immersive. The screenshots below are taken from a dawn departure this morning out of Almeria Airport on a test flight with the latest Milviz King Air 350i Beta.

I took the stunning Nemeth Sikorsky S-76 for a short hop around the beautifully picturesque new Tioman Island scenery by PILOT'S. If you like tropical island scenery and a very challenging approach, this is a must have! The weather was pretty gloomy on the way out to the offshore island heliport, cleared up though for the journey back. There was even a moving lizard on the tarmac when I returned! Tioman is about 100 miles north of Singapore and is known for excellent scuba diving. The airport is considered to have one of the most dangerous approaches in the world, due to often adverse tropical weather conditions and the approach not offering any go-around because of the high terrain surrounding the immediate vicinity of the runway.
