  1. My landing/taxilights at dusk do not cast any light. They work fine once it's completely dark. Can someone tell me how to adjust this? Thanks!
  2. Hi there, Just bought PTA and it really lives up to its promises! Thanks. The autogen initially looked way too bright and strange at dawn/dusk until I realized I had to ensure that the buildings and vegetation were set to receive shadows - then it looked phenomenal. Regarding FXAA, the PTA notes indicate that FXAA should be on in P3D (understandably). However, some have reported that using nVidia to control FXAA is better. My question is whether or not the PTA FXAA tweaks will still work if FXAA is controlled externally by nVidia (i.e. turned on) but with FXAA set to off (untucked) in sim? Or am I asking a silly question? Thanks in advance, Rhett.
  3. Hi all, Just this morning, I was told that people were experiencing failures when activating PTA for P3D v4 (2.51). Normally with stuff like this, it's an easy remedy as we have direct control over the server - usually a reboot works just fine. However... When I purchased PTA, although I was given the source code to the program plus all of the server side code, for ease, we decided to keep the current server that you use to activate PTA live. This server is not owned by us (it belongs to Yuri, the original PTA developer). It would seem this morning, said server has been completely nuked - I am not sure of the reason why and to be quite frank, I don't have the energy to keep chasing people around. So, now is the time to take full control and set up our own activation server. We're doing this as we speak. There will be an update to PTA soon with the reflected changes as to which server is used to activate the product - all I ask for is a little time. Note: If you purchased PTA during the down time, you will be put into a queue for your serial to be assigned to your account - once the activation server is back up we'll sort this out for you as a matter of urgency. I understand this is frustrating - I have been tearing my hair out all morning trying to resolve this. Thanks for your patience and support - I'll keep you updated. Matt.
  4. Hello Everyone, I have a small question in regards to hard edges visible at the horizon line, when at FL370ish and up. Usually, to get rid of them, I would set up the upper visibily limit in ActiveSky to about 80/90mi. I read on these forums that some people use PTA to get rid of hard edges, is that via the Haze setting? I have applied it but the hard edges are still visible at about FL370+ and upper visibility 120mi. Would be grateful if someone could shed some light on it. I don't mind limiting upper visibility below 90, but it also casues "Fog" effect which is quite hardcore to look at.
  5. I've been having some trouble with the lighting (shadows?) and pretty much the sun as a whole. As you can see from the link below there's a significant change in lighting just by paning my camera slightly to the left or right. There's like a point whereas if I look east there's extra sunlight, and when I look a bit more to the south it goes away again. All shadows and sun effects just vanishes, or as if there's an extra sun somewhere that pops up and casts sunlight. :s Has anyone else encountered this before and is there a fix? I've been using PTA and ENVTEX but tried reseting to backup and the problem still persists. I've also tried removing P3D completely and reinstalling it. https://imgur.com/a/D4zid
  6. I "did a few things" and just thought to show some pics of SF, after reading negativity that i cant really understand. For me it enhanced the sim in a not before seen way. Since SF also comes with PTA presets some pics wont have "Clouds" as main theme. Its about the whole, including the Sky & PTA it brings. Thank you REX Team.... this product is immense fun. And i feel as if i just scratched the surface.
  7. Hello, hoping everyone is having a good day, Im loving PTA so far and it is really a great creation. However just as i was flying over greece the textures has a red tint. I saw the (Urban areas lighting at night) setting in PTA. But i do not how it works (Im using Matt Davies preset) so do i turn it off or what is an ajustment or setting that would make the red tint go away. If soemone could help me that would be very nice thank you Pablo. (non-hdr lighting user)
  8. Hello devellopers of PTA, Is PTA capable to improve framerate values (in P3Dv4) ? Kind regards, Bram Stikkel
  9. Hi, I currently use REX texture direct with soft clouds enhanced edition, Orbx Global, Vector, Europe LC, Active Sky Cloud art and Active sky along with PTA and THOPAT setting. I've disabled REX textures for clouds as I understand ASCA does this for me but its on for everything else, tarmac, taxiway etc - I think I've understood that right as ASCA should over rule REX as the cloud texture drawer as its better at it? I've seen the news from THOPAT and its optimised for Envtex and I'm wondering if this product is basically the same as REX? Therefore is there any benefit to having both REX and Envtex? Including the questions above, how would you configure the programs to provide the best visuals - who should rule over who? ................and go!! Many thanks.
  10. Hi all, If you've purchased PTA via Simmarket, we automatically create you an account on the Simtweaks website (https://www.simtweaks.com) To login, use your Simmarket email address & your PTA serial key as the password. Once you've logged in, change your password to something that isn't your key. This means that when we update PTA, you can download the latest version from the Simtweaks website without having to wait for Simmarket to update things. Thanks, Matt.
  11. Post your PTA Presets Here. No off Topic Thank you. Please add Pictures and any Links of a location of the Preset. This is a Comunity guide only, and a proper place for all our Presets with personal opinions and recommendations thank you. Hope you agree that it would be helpful to have a place for our community presets without going off topic, Thanks. Will kick off with a preset I'm currently using and happy with until my own is ready. Thank you. Just took a quick flight across England East-West starting at EGNM.Pilot Pete PTA Preset More recent than the last one I found from his youtube channel, must say really like this one. My PC ain't the best but until I upgrade will do for now and looks pretty good with his Preset, which he seems to upgrade regularly so sure after PTA for 4.1 he's probably working on a new one. Like most, I'm working on my own too, but this one is Topline IMO, realistic look. Of course everyone to there own choices, but hey he certainly knows his stuff, respect man. Used with FTX Global Base Pack, open LC Europe, ORBX England, AS, and Rex
  12. I noticed today when flying out in the early morning, the outside of the NGX stays extremely bright. I am using UT2 for traffic and the AI is dark, but my airplane isn't. I have PTA installed with the Thopat preset. I've attached a few pictures to illustrate my issue. Does anyone have a fix? I was thinking it could have something to do with the specific livery I have used. At night in general, the aircraft is always too bright. Also, when flying through cloud at night with dynamic lighting on, I can't see the clouds with landing lights on (should reflect quite brightly), I use ASCA for clouds and Envtex for everything else. . /
  13. Hi all, With P3D v4.1 releasing tomorrow, naturally there will be a new version of PTA to support this. At the same time, we're also rolling out some new features (these will be backwards compatible to version 4.0). - No popcorn tweak has been completely rewritten. The old algorithm which worked in v3 doesn't render correctly in v4 resulting in grey clouds within a close proximity to your viewpoint - Alternate tone map tweak has been improved - this basically stops clouds from being too bright when you have bloom set using HDR - Separate lighting adjustments for aircraft externally and internally - now you can adjust the lights for the VC separately to the external model - Added an adjustable parameter to reduce cloud brightness at varying stages of the 24hr day cycle (dawn/day/dusk/night) - Added a new tweak which allows separate adjustment of HDR bloom during the 24hr day cycle (dawn/day/dusk/night) This will be available over the next few days hopefully - keep your eyes peeled for when it's released. If you have any questions, you can reply to this topic. Cheers, Matt.
  14. Hi there, So I've installed PTA and now my clouds have this weird Pixelated/Oily look to them. I've restored Shaders and it fixes it until I load another PTA preset in again. I've tried to delete my Shaders file located in %appdata%, my ShadersHLSL and repaired the P3D client to rebuild ShadersHLSL and also deleted by P3D cfg, however still no luck. It even got to a point where I decided to do a complete reinstall of P3D v4 but no luck. Anyone able to help? It'll be much appreciated 🙂 Also for the reference, look carefully at the clouds... https://imgur.com/bwEpsw1 Originally, when I first installed PTA it was working fine as seen here
  15. Hello Avsim, I got a prompt to update PTA to the new 2.62 version this afternoon to work with my recently updated P3D and stupidly I clicked no without reading (force of habit i guess.) The only problem is after many restarts i cannot seem to trigger the prompt again and the option to restore original P3D shaders is greyed out so an uninstall of the product would be a headache for my entire simulator and it would mess my default shaders up. Please Help... Thanks, Cyaniide
  16. Excellent UGMS (Mestia) by David Hilker. P3Dv4, PTA, Textures "SNOWY" and "RIME", PTA preset from the set "SKYLARK new", Photoshop. Screens 1680x1050px can be downloaded.
  17. Hi all, We recently just made v2.61 of PTA available for users that have upgraded to Prepar3D v4.2. You can find the download via your order page on the SimTweaks website. Please note: Due to shader structure change within Prepar3D v4.2, some of the tweaks in PTA v2.61 will NOT work in previous versions of Prepar3D. If you are not planning on upgrading from Prepar3D v4.1, you do NOT need to upgrade PTA. There isn't any new functionality in PTA v2.61, just compatibility with Prepar3D v4.2. Thanks, Matt.
  18. Hello everyone. Started using PTA with 4.2 and I love it. I completely forgot to restore the shaders to default prior to me updating to 4.3 today. I have read on some of the forum threads here that the P3D Client over rides the shaders back to default. That's great! However, upon launching some aircraft like the FSLabs A320X I notice the accu pressure guage and lower nav guage icon go right through to the runway. Only on the ground. Someone posted on their forums the same issue and the response was a shader issue by the dev. Just curios to know how the process works now that I forgot to restore to default prior to the P3D Client update. When the PTA update comes out does the application install the new preset shaders and over ride any discrepancies in the existing folder that may linger? Thanks for your time and input.
  19. Matt Davies Has posted a Video on PTA and ENVSHADE. Its 15 mins long but you do need to watch it. =Listen to it All I will say is am glad I bought PTA and I wish him well. Now go to youtube look it up as I cannot link it as its for Adults. It's sickening.
  20. Hi guys, Just a heads up - we've now released PTA onto Simmarket for those who have been waiting to purchase it via that method. You can buy it here: https://secure.simmarket.com/simtweaks-pta-prepar3d-v4-tweak-assistant.phtml Thanks, Matt.
