  2. Finally thinking about taking the plunge and trying out Prepar3d. Not sure which version would be best for the system I have. For my specs below, what is my best option? Many thanks! 3. I made a recent flight from Florida to London with the PMDG 777. I am testing new static points for it, hopefully good ones. So, here some images from the flight. Flight sim Jewels milky way texture is present on this one. The camera setting is my own, managed in Chaseplane. Sunrise is coming over Ireland. Next few images are from cruising around London. On Final approach It was difficult touchdown, I was facing 18 kts of crosswind, due to the storm conditions around. After touchdown the wind blew me on a side. So, this is my photo thread for my arrival. What you guys think?
  4. Hi everyone, Before making a big mistake, I would like to have your opinion about an issue on Prepar3D. I changed my nVidia 780 GTX few months ago for a 1070. After the release of the latest P3D hotfix (v3.4.22.19868), I decided to invest in a second graphic card. I didn't expect a huge FPS increase, but, at least, few more fps, in particular with complex sceneries and AS16 clouds. And well ... the results are not what I expected ... It's even worse ... I run a homecockpit based on a main P3D computer (and with 3 more computers for hardware and Prosim737 software) : 3 x 1920x1080 monitors with a i7 4770K @4.4Ghz, 16GB RAM, 2 x 1070 GTX (MSI and KFA², driver v378.78), 1 SSD for the OS (Win8.1, up to date) and 3 HDD for P3D and sceneries. I performed all my tests in France at Nantes airport with all FranceVFR Photo sceneries activated and FranceVFR LFRS. Cloud textures are from REX4 and ASCA + ENVTEX (I don't know if their textures stay in P3D folder when ASCA is not running ...). Weather is the default P3D engine (I didn't run AS16 for my tests). In term of other addons : FSUIPC, GSX, accu-feel v2 and that's all. I only run P3D on my main computer, all Prosim Modules and AS16/ASCA run on secondary computers. On all 3 monitors, with SLI and Surround (no bezel correction) enabled, I have between 45 and 55 FPS. If I disabled Surround and SLI, FPS increase to 60-70. In therm of smoothness, it's more or less the same. With only one monitor, it's even more obvious. No SLI : 100-110 FPS. With SLI : 60-70 fps. Something is wrong here ... I searched for the culprint, but I couldn't find it ... To check if SLI was well activated with no issue, I tested SLI with the Unigine Heaven Benchmark on one monitor. It confirmed that SLI is working correctly on my system (a mean of 110 FPS without SLI and a mean of 180 FPS with SLI). I will test with all 3 monitors tonight. So before I decide to sell the second 1070, do you have an idea ? I can add that P3D and OS are one month old (installed on formated SSD and HDD), all drivers are up to date, Windows updates are regularly installed ... and ... and I don't know what to do now ... Thanks for your help, everyone ! Olivier Original post : http://prosim-ar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=11592
  5. Questions for the participants in this topic, as I see your posts contain answers. 1) how are you getting single spacing in your posts? Each time I hit the <enter> key I get double spaced lines. 2) how creating the hidden content to shorten the initial appearance of long posts, such as when posting a long .cfg or .ini file? Thanks...

  8. I followed Nirgal's instructions for the 182 and ended up with a system that displays correctly; however, the autopilot in the 182 fails to follow the GPS guidance. It just turns the plane north to a track of ~005 and locks it there. I've tried this at several locations and I get the same results.
  9. Hey all!I would just like to take this moment to make a few announcements. There are a few reasons why we have come to these decisions, and we are sure you will agree that it is all for the better. 12. Is there a fix out there to get Fs2Crew 3.1 to work in Prepard3d V4.2?? I install, but after setup following the manual and pressing "N", nothing comes up. I did assign the the keys correctly for P3d for the PMDG 737. Is there a dll entry missing or something? Any help would be appreciated.
  13. Ever since P3D 4.2 and the 747 hotfix, I have noticed that there are no longer light relections on the aircraft at night for example: -strobe light reflection on outer engine pylon, winglets and tail cone -glow of nav lights on outer part of wing and winglets However, these things appear fine on my NGX and 777. Is it just me or can someone confirm this? Is it worth re-installing the 747
  14. Hi For the last few months I haven't been able to complete any flight using the PMDG 737NGX or the 747V2 in Prepar3D. It always ends with this: I have tried several GeForce driver versions. Now using the latest version, 382.05. P3D runs smooth, not using too heavy settings Any help would be highly appreciated. System information: Prepar3D v3.4.22 Window 10 Home 64 bit v1703 Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 Intel i5-4670 @ 3,4 GHz 8 GB RAM Kjell A.
  15. A Vegas Fall Departure...Las Vegas to Phoenix through the Eastern Mojave. Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport not included since I don't own this product. Darryl
  16. I noticed today when flying out in the early morning, the outside of the NGX stays extremely bright. I am using UT2 for traffic and the AI is dark, but my airplane isn't. I have PTA installed with the Thopat preset. I've attached a few pictures to illustrate my issue. Does anyone have a fix? I was thinking it could have something to do with the specific livery I have used. At night in general, the aircraft is always too bright. Also, when flying through cloud at night with dynamic lighting on, I can't see the clouds with landing lights on (should reflect quite brightly), I use ASCA for clouds and Envtex for everything else. . /
  17. Hi, The GTN is nearly ready for release, and in the meantime, I've decided to open the curtain on different aspects, while at the same time, debunking some myth about FS and performance! Here is a modest screenshot of 4 GTN unit1 at 2560x1418 pixels in P3D3. NB: It is slightly reduced to save bandwidth (75%), but it illustrates a couple points nonetheless. First myth: to save performance, display 1 gauge at a time only. Most often than not, you read you can't have a popup gauge displaying the same content as the VC at the same time, and this is a 'design' decision to 'save frame rate'... Why end up with half of your gauge, instead of getting the complete picture all around? This screenshot shows one GTN 750 Unit1 (1 gauge, not 2) displaying 4 different instances of the gauge in different sizes at the same at the same time, at 60 FPS locked. This is massive amount of gauge pixels to refresh, and believe me, using the mouse wheel on the screen (which simulate screen pinch in/out) there is no stutter at all and this refreshes at native GTN speed. Second myth: you can't display images with gradients because of colour banding... Well, I'm sorry to prove this is wrong (see the area within the yellow circle), but thanks to our unique technology capable of rendering 32bits images in FS gauges, in real time, you really get THE complete GTN screen picture only with the Reality XP GTN Touch. Third myth: this is just a gauge which bridge the Garmin trainer, what's so special about this? Can't everyone do the same frankly? It might look the same on the surface, but it is more than just 'bridging' flight sim and the Garmin trainer. Suffice to say, if this was easy, there would be a lot of Garmin trainer based products on the market! First, once done the bezel, the screen, and start/stop the Garmin trainer in the background, which a lot of developers could manage to do, there are key differences in how you put and how you get data to/from the sim and the trainer. Implementing the technology to grab the screen in a highly efficient way, and then displaying it in FS in a highly efficient way, and in 32 bits colours, it something which is much harder to do than it may seem. Then, the scope of input/output to the trainer is paramount to a sound simulation, especially for our professional customers using our technologies everyday for training. For example, our TAWS-A implementation in the GTN takes in account the actual flaps and gear position, which have a dramatic impact on the TAWS algorithm, and the alerts it returns. Speaking of this, I've recently read on avsim someone saying there is no way to 'inhibit' the TAWS because, well... In fact, not all GTN are born equal and the Reality XP GTN Touch offers the 'TAWS Inhibit' input, in addition to the OBS and the CDI toggle inputs. I could write a lot more about all this, but enough said for now, time for the screenshot: NB: this is running on an old 3.4Ghz Intel I5 (2013) and an Nvidia GTX 775M with 2GB, more specifically a Late 2013 iMac in bootcamp, which is our average test reference computer.
  18. Hey all! I seem to have an issue with FPS in Prepar3D V4. Issue: With Vsync on, Triple buffering and unlimited FPS it is hard to maintain a steady 60FPS. It jumps from 115-25 at times and is stuttering uncontrollably. My goal: I want to stay at 30FPS, but when I lock the frames it is not smooth and stuttering badly, enough to give me a headache. My rig: i7 7700k 4.8ghz 16GB 3200Mhz 1080ti 11GB Should I buy a monitor that can support 30Hz? If so what do you recommend? Is there a way I can force my 1080p monitor to 30Hz? Thanks, Ryan Settings Picture

  20. Prepar3d Scenario has white screen on vehicle selection. I can select a plane but the block where the planes picture show, remains all white. If I select an aircraft, airport, weather all loads but ends up in a totally black screen. I just installed Prepar3d v4 today. Installed ORBX scenery, Chase Plane and A2A C-172. Uninstalled C-172 to see if that made difference, no luck.
  21. Hi guys, i have a problem with the installation of FTX Central 3. I already made a post at the support forum of orbx. Maybe someone will find a solution. I already figuered out that there is maybe a problem with the .NET Framework stuff. I cleared the Windows 10 Framework and reinstalled it. I also checked my registry, but there seems to be no mistake. I tried to reinstall FTX Central 3 several times after deleting the folders in AppData. But no change at all. I also read in the forum that some users have problems with Kaspersky Antivirus, so i deactivated it for the installation and started it. But this also didn't work. I'm really frustrated and have no ideo how to fix it. 22. [moved from the official panel discussion] This is a very necessary topic. Thanks RXP. I now choose between the Reality XP GTN750 and the F1. RealityXP is certainly better, on several counts and cheaper. It is important. But I do not know how to integrate it into my VK panels. It's all very complicated (((I'm a simple user. Not a programmer.) All files for different crafts in one place, I'm not buying a cheap software and I'm looking for a convenient installer, according to the INSTALL-NEXT-NEXT-FINISH scheme. I spend a lot of time on forums in search of a way of using my purchase. It's not right.
  23. Hello guys, I have this problem when I load a sceneario of a mid-flight 737ngx flight. Usually when you start the sceneario, the plane "initializes" itself for about 20 seconds. When I load the mid-flight sceneario, the plane is still in the initialization phase, so the autopilot won't work. This reults in the plane flying straight down and eventually crashing. Can anyone help me with this who had a similar situation before?
  24. Just a quick question for the more advanced panel editors on here. Have any off you guys taken on the challenge of using these new V2 Rxp 530 units with the Aerosoft Diamond DA20-100 'Katana' 4X? I fell in love with that aircraft when I first purchased it so many years ago for FSX, having it in P3D with a working RXP 530 would be a blessing... However it's coding is far to complicated for my rookie panel editing "skills". Any thoughts?
  25. Hello everyone! Taxi2Gate MMMX is a scenery originally released for FSX but with these few tricks you will be able to use this scenery in P3Dv4/v5. Installation: Run the exe and locate your simulator folder. Install the scenery anywhere within your Prepar3D/Prepar3D v5 folder (make sure to remember where you installed it!) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X and copy both the Effects and Texture folder Go to your Prepar3Dv4/Prepar3Dv5 root folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4) Paste the two folders (Effects and Texture) into the root Prepar3D directory - you should not be asked to overwrite any files! Launch Prepar3Dv4/Prepar3Dv5 Go to the Scenery library In there you have to manually add all three layers of the scenery within the MMMX-T2G folder (MMMX; MMMX-city; MMMX-terrain) - the layers should be in this exact order! Restart Prepar3Dv4/Prepar3Dv5 Settle down in MMMX and make sure you don't have any black buildings and everything looks fine! Download the MMMX_AF.BGL file either for Prepar3Dv4 or Prepar3Dv5 from this Google Drive link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-jn1fNZmyyW3vgJKmGD9pJcPECkYceJK?usp=sharing Once you have downloaded the file go to ...MMMX-T2G\MMMX\Scenery and paste the BGL file in there. Overwrite! That's it! Runway lights/Taxi lights/default buildings should be working/gone now! Have fun! :) Optional (RECOMMENDED!): We will be adding better Dynamic Lighting as well as GSXv1/v2 compatibility All rights go to inibuilds! Dynamic lighting for MMMX: https://forum.inibuilds.com/files/file/761-taxi2gate-mexico-city/ GSX-profile for MMMX: https://forum.inibuilds.com/files/file/929-taxi2gate-mexico-city/ follow given instructions carefull! Alright folks! I hope this helped and you managed to fix Taxi2Gate MMMX! Cheers, Niels
