I've read the argument of the influence of some 3rd party scenery and the FPS drop when switching on the B744's lights but why will the FPS drop when you switch lights on over the ocean? And why will the same airport (FSDT Vancouver for example) have NO FPS drop when I switch the lights on of a Carenado aircraft that are P3D4 compatible? And if it is only on my system, then I would like to know what is the influence of the QOTSII on my rig because on FSX everything is smooth and NO FPS drop? And lastly - is there a correlation between ORBX night lights and the B744 because in daytime everything is smooth but when the night comes ... ♪♫ ... tralalaa! Must say, I know P3D4 is new on the market and most definitely the future within the 64-bit environment but goodness gracious between the stuttering and shimmering and endless tweaking trying to solve it, it is more of a frustration at the moment than a joy. Accept when I start up the compatible Carenado aircraft and hip-hop over some ORBX terrain scenery like Norway. Then it is all smooth sailing but the moment I turn on the B744 then everything turns off ... and as I say, if my rig is good enough for a very VERY smooth FSX performance then it should surely be more than good enough for P3D4.

Hi, Just a tip for anyone struggling with the new Prepar3dv4 compatible 747 QOTS II installer seeming to just shutdown with no error and then the installation exe disappearing, for me it was actually Avast, and disabling all shields for 10 minutes let the installer complete successfully. I realise the fleet Captain probably said very clearly to disable anti-virus when installing, but it didn't stop me not following instructions, so maybe this will help someone equally nonobservant :D

Goodevening all, As I was not very delighted to see that there wasn't any repaint of the Saudia Cargo 744ERF, I decided to make one on my own, as there were no videos or tutorials available online, i relayed on a PMDG 777 repaint tutorial and the quick reference/manual book which was included in the paint kit. Long story short; Spent 8 hrs on a repaint, and when i thought i was finally done and ready to test it in FSX, this happend (see spoiler for images). Can someone explain to me what i did wrong, as i don't get it myself. Kind regards, Florian Mooijaart

Situation: Flying manually with A/T disengaged (A/T ARM off), FDs on in HDG SEL/ALT, SPD window open to appropriate bug speed. Setting up for an RNAV approach. I want to get VNAV PTH guidance on the approach, so I select VNAV on the MCP. Immediately A/T goes into SPD, window blanks, and target speed increases to DES. The first time I noticed this I was flying level at bug speed, when the A/T kicked in back to 240k it really upset the apple cart. Per FCOM 4.10.3, with the A/T Switch OFF, A/T activation is disabled. Is this something the real bird does?
