Hello, What is the best OS for FSX??????I currently have Windows XP HE SP3 32bit and it runs great, frames slider to unlimited, 45-55fps with no stutters, but when I tried Windows 7 HP 32bit, The frames are around 60fps but often dip to 30, hence; STUTTERING!!! I would much rather prefer Windows 7 because it is the newest, but these stutters are really annoying. I CANT lock frame rates because in complex aircraft like PMDG MD-11 they will go down to 8fps, but when i set it to unlimited it hangs around 50 with occasional dips to 30. How can i fix this?? I already tried disabling Aero Theme, and setting Windows for maximal performance, but that doesnt help....... Will installing SP1 for Windows 7 help???? I really want this to work, im a little sick of XP. Thanks, and specs are in signature below....... BKa.k.a. Wybe Witteveen

I'm a TrackIR user and as much as I love P3Dv4, I have to admit that the smoothness when panning is nowhere near as good as my experience with FSX:SE. The FPS counter in the corner constantly reports almost solid 60FPS, yet the sim stutters a lot when I am panning. I've done a lot of searching on this and have tried to set things up to minimize the stuttering but the results still aren't great yet. I have Vsync set up on Standard (rather than Adaptive), at 1/2 refresh rate. I have also tried setting the lowest possible settings in P3Dv4 and still get the stutters and lack of smoothness, so I don't think the problem stems from excessive load on my GPU/CPU. I've experimented with internal and externally locked FPS (things got much worse) and unlimited (better, but still a lot of stutters). I've tried setting the FIBER tweak to 0.01 (slightly improved stutters but Orbx scenery got horribly blurry). At a bit of a loss - has anyone got any other tips for increasing smoothness, and addressing stutters that occur even when FPS are high? TIA.

Hello guys, I have had this issue for a really long time now (Around a year) and I have tried a lot of things to fix it. But till this day I have never found anything to fix this issue for me. I have a weird kind of stutter in my sim that makes flying with less than 45 FPS impossible / not fun at all. I have made 3 videos in 3 different stages of flight with this issue and they will be linked below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79i_bgjY0kc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpaffbnsqJk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSYxEafzUbc I would be really thankfull if you guys help out. Hello guys, after years of using EZCA (even upgraded to EZCA V2), I decided to give ChasePlane a try. The featured videos, the "ease" of use, the much better and fresher UI and some of the new features like virtual doors, led me to the decision. But was it a good one (see 4.3)? Let me talk about my experience with CP: 1. Purchase: Easy. The product page well describes CP, what it can, what it can't an what it's suppose to do upon release. You feel yourselfe in good hands. 2. Installation: Piece of cake from within vfxCentral. No more disabling AV, no more adding exclusions, no more "false positives", no more "Run as Admin"....just a simple click an forget! 3. Configuration: You might need to have a look at 1 or 2 videos but its mostly self explanatory. 4. Usage (well here comes a part which I didn't expect). 4.1. Camera sets: Setting up cameras is realy easy. The tricky part is setting up your camera "shakes" or head movement effects. Since most of the users don't get to sit in cockpits (or collect movements with accelerometers), you don't know how turbulence, wind, ground,...affects the ACFT. So you have to check if the Camera effects look right for you. When I first set up the NGX, the head movement during taxi was simmilar to those when driving a tractor on a field (same thing during turbulence). So I had to try to finetune the effects, which was indeed easy but since you can't "preview" your new settings, you have to taxi and finetune and taxi more...you get my point. a) Can you guys implement a button which can simulate the effects (e.g.: TAXI button/ TO ACC button / Light Turbulence / havy turb / ...). b) I hoped you guys would provide some effect presets for ACFT (not all of them but the major ones like PMDG, Aerosoft,....). I'm realy new with CP so excuse me if I state something wrong but I didn't found the possibility to download those presets. 4.2. Virtual doors does not work for me (I have the experimental Alpha installed). It would not accept the switch between a cockpit door and a outside door. The GUI always tells me that it can't switch between inside and outside views and wants me to convert them either all inside or all outside. 4.3. Transition between cameras: In my case these are mostly NEVER smooth. I have a transition time set for 1500msec and mostly always the transition is done with stutters Also panning is kind of stuttery. In outside views all vehicles (e.g GSX vehicles) move with stutters. And this is very annoying. The whole sim seems laggy. 4.4 Prediction seeting: Verry nice touch and a good idea! To work, you have to set it at a higher value if you want to see the effect during taxi (so not to constantly pan). The problem: it's sensitivity does not decay with speed! So if you are on TO or inflight, your head "predicts" the ruder correction the same as during taxi (it's impossible to fly that way). General: The SW has a lot of potential and I'm sure that most of the issues will be fixed in time. Since I use the SW only for flying purpose (not streaming, recording...) It' s a MUST that the transitions are smooth and the sim doesn't get laggy. If I can't find a fix to the stuttering, I will have to revert to EZCA for the time beeing. Would appreciate any ideas / suggestions / help. My specs can be found in my signature. Regards, Gerald PS: I forgot to ask: Please add a save button! If you have set up your cameras and are at the point of finetuning, CP does not automaticaly save your settings (it takes a while to sync with the server). If you change views before the sync, you loose your setting. The grren checkmark also does not come alive after finetuning some effects.

Hi all, I was wondering if someone could help me. I'm getting really poor performance issues (Low FPS and huge micro stutters) in Prepar3D v4.1 with Dynamic Lighting enabled. I have tried the following things, but there are still many issues. I have tried a range of aircraft in which some struggle more than others. My system is: Intel Core i7 4770K (OC'd to 4.3 GHz) CPU, ASUS GTX 1080 Graphics Card, ASUS Z87-A Mainboard, 32 GB Corsair RAM, Samsung EVO SSD, Hisense 4K TV (40 inch). The following aircraft are: PMDG 737 (600/700/800/900) - Mild stutters and low FPS when external lights cross each other, also when dome light is enabled. PMDG 777 (200/300) - Mild stutters and low FPS when external lights are switched on. FSLabs A320 X - Bad stutters and very low FPS when FS Spotlights is enabled in the cabin. Some mild stutters when external lights are switched on. Majestic Dash 8 Q400 - No issues (Assume this is because it still uses legacy lighting? When Dynamic Lighting is switched off, lights can still illuminate the runway). Aerosoft CRJ X - Bad stutters and low FPS when Flood LT dial is switched to on and flood lights illuminate the flight deck. I have tried the following things: 1. Set exclusions from Windows Defender for the Prepar3D v4.1 folder, FSLabs folders etc. (as advised by FSLabs). 2. Changed resolution from 3840 x 2160 to lower resolutions. 3. Deleted all shaders and started with a Vanilla Copy of Prepar3D v4.1 with no addons apart from the particular aircraft. 4. Updated/Downgraded Nvidia Graphics Drivers. 5. Upgraded aircraft to the latest version. 6. Formatted my PC and ensured that everything is perfectly working. 7. Configured my Nvidia GTX 1080 on High Performance and kept all P3D settings to a minimum. 8. Changed TV Monitor from 60Hz to 30Hz and configured with/without V-Sync etc. 9. Changed all AA settings (FXAA, MSAA, SSAA, SGSS). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anybody have any ideas? I assume this is a genuine issue and something that will be resolved in the future? Many thanks, Pete
