Hi there, I'm a aerospace engineering student at Uni and have an assignment based around Auto Trim Systems. I was just wondering if anyone has an helpful information on the system and it limitations, or know of any useful websites or books that are avaliable for me to view. preferably information on the Boeing and Airbus systems but general information on the system will also help. Sorry if this isnt the right place to be asking this. Thanks in advance.

I came across this little gem to get everyone in the X-Plane 11 community salivating... Javier is doing an incredible job in creating a version 2 of his popular CRJ-200. I'd been following his live streams, highlighting the development, design and production of this great aircraft. I never got around to purchasing the first one, but I may have to seriously consider getting v2 now. Enjoy!

Hello all. I have been eyeing the Saitek Multi Panel recently to help finish up my sim pit. I have advanced aircraft such as A2A 172, Aerosoft Twin Otter, Flight1 King Air, RealAir Duke V2, Majestic Dash 8 and will get some PMDG products in the future. My question is, how well does the autopilot features of this panel work with these type of aircraft? I realize PMDG and other larger aircraft will have differences seeing as how the panel autopilot is designed around a very simple general aviation aircraft. If I were to be flying the King Air or Dash could I set an altitude, vertical speed and heading and it would all work correctly? Is this just a waste of money if flying these type of aircraft? I feel that it would work just fine with the A2A 172, but I'm not positive. I read somewhere that someone had to use LINDA to get it to work with more complex aircraft and I think that is beyond my comfort zone with FSX. Any help or hearing of any experiences would be a huge help. Thank you. -

I'm the type of guy who will purchase any FSX aircraft that has had the least little bit of positive hype before its release, or good to great reviews after its release. As a result, I have quite a few aircraft that are in my hangar. Unfortunately some have been flown very little or not at all. I like them all. Tubeliners, turboprops, twins, singles, GA, IFR, I really enjoy them all. I am very happy with the performance of my computer running FSX, and have many, many sceneries to fly to and from. My problem is, I can't decide which one to fly on any given day. I know I need to dive in to some of these aircraft, and learn the basic procedures and see how it performs. But I am very comfortable with a dozen or so aircraft, and know it's easy to jump in the plane, start it up and take off quickly. These two feelings keep tugging at me every time I fire up FSX. Sometimes, I just scroll through the list, over and over, and can't make up my mind. Am I the only one who has this problem? Here are the aircraft I own: A2A Simulations: B-17 Flying Fortress, J-3 Cub, P-51 Mustang (Military & Civilian), Cessna C-172, Spitfire Aerosoft: Twin Otter Bay Tower Studios: Van's RV-7 Carenado: Bonanza F-33A, Cessna CT182T, Cessna CT210M Centurion Coolsky: DC-9 Eagle Dynamics: A-10 Warthog (DCS) Flight1: Cessna Citation X v2, Cessna Citation Mustang, Beech King Air B200 Just Flight: BAE 146, L-1011 Tristar Lionheart Creations: Piper Super Pacer Majestic: Dash 8 Q-400 MilViz: F-15 Strike Eagle, F-86 Sabre, Beech Baron B55, Cessna C310R, Boeing 737-200 Combi, ORBX: Lancair PMDG: Boeing 747, 737NGX , 777, JS4100, MD-11 Quality Wings: Bae 146 Collection RealAir Simulations: Beech B-60, Turbine Duke, Lancair Legacy The aircraft highlighted in blue are the aircraft I fly often and am comfortable with. I am really wanting to try something new, delve into the systems and procedures, but I simply cannot make up my mind. I hereby declare I will not purchase any more aircraft until I have flown all these aircraft sufficiently to form an opinion. That is unless the PMDG 747v2 comes out. Or maybe a surprise airplane I don't know about. You see my dilemma. I really wanted to try the Airbus Extended, but I think my head would explode transitioning from Boeing to Airbus and back. I have always intended to buy A2A Captain of the Ship, just haven't gotten around to it. I'm currently flying over the Atlantic on the 777, headed to the UK. Please help me make a decision. Recommendations? Something that is not on the list? (Heaven help me!)

Hello Bryan/Guys, I'm having a weird problem. Every time a load the MD11 whether from the Main Screen or already on the ramp, FSX crash throwing an error quite unique cause where should say the name of the module causing problems it says unknown. I detected FS2Crew might be the problem becasue if a restore the PMDG panels from the FS2Crew program, the MD11 load just fine. Let me tell you that recently did a full re-install of SO and FSX and been flying other PMDG with FS2crew without a problem, the only difference that they are al Voice edition. Do you know what could be causing troubles with FS2Crew? Thanks

This needs the GPWS warning system for the planes including the 'woop woop, pull up' sound. ALSO I beg for you guys to light up the cockpit in planes at nightime because it is too dark

Ok, So I live about 20 minutes away from KHPN (Westchester County Airport) and have been there many times to go flying with Peter Levine in his Piper, anyway I decided last week it would be cool to go spotting there and get some shots of the Embrears, Airbuses, CRJ's as well as all the GA traffic coming in and out of the airport. last Monday I called the Airport and talked to a very nice person who said I could come and spot from the Observation deck in the main terminal, I also called the local Flight School and FBO (also where Peter Levine keeps his plane) to see if I could walk around that part of the airport to take pics and watch the aircraft departing and taxiing. Both People (At the Main airport and FBO) told me that It was fine for me to do that the only condition was that I check in at both places before spotting. Ok thats fine. Today I went to go spotting and I got there, with the name of the people I spoke to and a reason for wanting to spot and I checked in at Panorama Flight School and told them who I talked to and what I wanted to do. I was told that I would not be allowed to do this, and I would be arrested and that I would have to leave. Huh???? I was told It was fine. Anyway, so I went to the main terminal after that and I talked to the same person I had talked to on Monday and I got the same answer that I had gotten from the guy at Panorama. So just like that my whole day was ruined and I had no chance of spotting. So, my question is, when people go spotting at major airports and they make videos and take pictures where do they go, and how do they not get arrested? If I cannot go at my tiny regional airport then how in the world do people go spot at places like JFK or IAD or EWR or LGA? I would really like to go to JFK to spot, as well as to my airport HPN which is 20 minutes away!

I got FSX several months ago but due lack of time and out of money, I cannot continue to play and "invest money" into it. Now I've just bought a new SSD to install my win7 into it and put the 250GB totally for FS9 and FSX. I have only installed Fs9 first and then FSX. Adding addons into Fs9. I currently have no addons for FSX. Since I don't know where to start with. Searching Word Not Allowed and Nick's guide for FSX tweak. Hope it helps. In Fs9, I installed FSGlobal2010 first, and then Ultimate Terrain for USA and Europe ( I fly mainly in USA). How about in FSX, which scenery addons should I install for start ? Mainly USA. Thanks all! Ah,BTW, if I'm correct my FSGlobal2010 also can install for FSX. So does FSX need it? Or are there any better one for mesh?

Hello I just installed the Fsx Constellation professional, and am having a great time with the aircraft, I do however have one question. Are there any Repaints for the constellation? Especially Trans Canada air lines L-1049 Super constellation, This is really the airline and aircraft that I wish to repaint(since I like flying my flights from Canada), but I have searched a decent amount and haven't found anything on it either. I also installed the F-lite Dc-10 and was wondering if there was a repaint for Canadian Airlines in 1995 version for a Dc-10-30. Is it technically possible to transfer repaints, so say that the aircraft is made, but the same aircraft with a different repaint which belongs to another developer. Thank you and if anyone has made them or knows if it possible to get these repaints on these airlines please just write a response.

Need Assistance Please: I downloaded from PMDG my purchased copy of the 777 and extension. I have installed and activated now several times said files. During night time, the textures and skin of any of the liveries I have also downloaded do appear, however in day light situations, they disappear. Meanwhile, all the freeware aircraft I have downloaded work just fine. I do have "aircraft cast shadows" turned off because I run a lot of add-on scenery, such as Flytampa Kai Tak so the AI aircraft scenery are not invisible. Perhaps I should turn that option 'on' and see what happens. Since I run a lot of add-ons, I did lower my settings so it didn't eat up a lot of memory, that still didn't work so I'm wondering f there is another problem??? Here's what's I'm running in my pc: Windows 10 Intel® Core i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor I do have a screen shot but I have no idea of how to attach it. All that is visible are the inner workings of the engine, parts of the cockpit, gear struts and other odds and ends that do not make it possible to identify what type of aircraft, livery etc...kinda like a goddamn ghost really. I do run Highmemfix=1 as well as many other fsx tweaks. Anyways, if anyone has ideas, I'm all ears. Matt Ewert Saskatchewan, Canada

Hey all, So I have played FSX for a couple months now, and I am decent at it, but not good enough to join or create like a virtual navy squadron, which is my goal. So I'm trying to form a flight training plan for myself. I have the planes, the IRIS T-6 Texan II and the Dino Cattaneo T-45 Goshawk. I was just wondering like what the schedule would be, like what flights I do which things, and how many flights until the next step. Thanks, Vapor

I converted an ATR72-200 from AI to flyable by adding custom panel and sounds to it. I couldn't find the livery anywhere else so I had to use the AI model I had installed. The problem is, whenever I go over 60 kts, the airplane starts pulsing. The gauges, control surfaces, etc. The aircraft usually cannot rotate since it cannot gain speed after around 70 kts. Is this because this is an AI aircraft? Are the aircraft.cfg files different for AI aircraft? It's odd because before adding the panel and sound, the airplane flew great.. All I had was an empty panel and sound folder for testing. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi! Ok, so i previously made a thread about this problem as i thought the problem only occured with Carenados products. But i figured it wasnt.. I bought the following addons for my P3D: - Carenado B200 KING AIR - Carenado PC12 - Carenado B1900D - Wilco TBM850 - MILVIZ B350i So my problem is.. Every time i start with one of these aircrafts, the engine runs for about 30 seconds, but the displays inside the aircraft looks like they are in the start-up phaze. But the aircraft start rolling during those 30 seconds. Then i put parking brake on. Then when i try to start the engine(s) again, the aircraft will start rolling again, up till around 20 knots. And it also sounds like the engine is going full power. This cant be normal right? It takes away all the realism with the aircraft acting like this. So what i've tried so far is: *Reinstalling the aircrafts. *Reinstalling Windows and P3D I dont have any joysticks connected, or joystick drivers installed. (i had the same problem even with that installed) My speccs are: Windows 7 64-bit Processor: AMD FX™-8350 Eight-Core Processor (8 CPUs), ~4.0GHz Memory: 8192MB RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Card name: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series (4 GB) Can someone out there please help me? You might have a solution that i could try? I feel like i wasted so much money and time on this if i cant get this to work :(

So I'm thinking about buying my first third-party aircraft for MSFS 2020. I want something that's pretty much a complete aircraft from A to Z that has very little to no inops. Something that's realistic to the flight model would be nice too but also not too difficult to fly. Autopilot is, of course, a must as I like to fly IFR often in challenging weather. To that end, I've narrowed my choices to either the Just Flight Piper Arrow (any of the variants, I'd likely buy the vanilla/turbo bundle) or Carenado Mooney M20R. Piper Arrow seems to offer a compelling package, but I also like going high, fast and far and the Mooney gives that. I'd much rather have a biz jet, but there aren't any on the market and the CJ4 is presently one of the crown jewels of aircraft in MSFS (with the Working Title mod, natch). Which one would you suggest? Especially asking those who may have both aircraft in their hangars! -

This may have been covered before but for years I have noticed at various times that when I park an aircraft like the default King Air then press the shift + E key to open the passenger door it opens then closes right away. This is something that seems to come and go and has been going on in FSX for years now. Does anyone have a clue what causes this and a fix? Hey guys I´m having some troubles with the shaders on FSX. As you can see on the image above, the aircraft sahders look really bad. I don´t know what is happening but it is shure I´m getting mad with it.
