  1. So I have noticed a little quirk with VoxATC that is a bit annoying. Sometimes it is spot on and sometimes it is so off the mark that it has almost killed my virtual plane. One thing it seems to get consistently wrong is the altimeter settings while on the ground. You tune into the ATIS and the green ticker starts scrolling across the top and the ticker will say Altimeter 30.08 but VoxATC will say "Altimeter 29.96" (or any number of numbers that don't match the ATIS green strip). If you have FSX ATC turned on and listen to their ATIS read back at the same time as VoxATC, FSX ALWAYS gets the Altimeter right on the strip but VoxATC is hit and miss. As the METAR data is all coming in from the exact same place, why does VoxATC have problems getting this right? VoxATC is also bad at wind directions. Twice now, while my Avilasoft EFB has said "Winds favor a 22" departure" and I create my flight plan to depart on Runway 22 (El Paso International in this example), I've pushed back from the gate and asked for taxi to the active and VoxATC is like, "Taxi to runway 4 via blahblahblah" I am like @_@ But.. but... ALL the airport traffic is taxing to runway 22... why do you want me to taxi to the exact opposite end of the runway you daffy *(%&@*%& controller!? Are you trying to kill me!? It has done this at several other airports. I file a flight plan with departures based on the wind direction being fed in by NOAA data and it gives me the wrong damn runway. Don't get me started on a STAR approach in which it wants to take me 50 miles out of the pattern to sequence me. The last several airport approaches I've had to disable VoxATC on the approach because the controller is giving me crazy instructions that I refuse to follow and the AI controller won't shutup. I love VoxATC but the wrong altimeter and wrong runways are annoying. Anyone found a work around this or know why it is doing this in the first place? I use FS Passengers X with all procedures turned on and this incorrect Altimeter settings cost me points on my final score 50% of the time.
  2. When I press "b" to set the altimeter at cruising altitude (which I have to do frequently because it keeps getting off), the autopilot does not correct my altitude even if I'm 1000 feet off. The only way to get it to climb or descend is to turn VNAV off and then turn it back on again. Now, if I turn off VNAV for the cruise phase and turn on ALT hold instead, everything works perfectly, but aren't you supposed to leave it on VNAV? I'm used to flying the 757 and 767 (Captain Sim), where VNAV worked much like ALT hold at cruising altitude. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but what is it?Thanks,boeing247
  3. GOOD DAY. STAND WITH PROBLEM AFTER PASS TRANSITION ALTITUDE. BOING PMDG 747 The altimeter setting SETO WHEN IN THE PILOT STD does not change. KNOW SOMEONE PLEASE SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?
  4. Hello, I am a Pilot2Atc user with Flight Simulator 2020. I love this software, it has made me a lot of progress in my learning. However, I have a problem. When I contact the Atis or when ATC gives me the QNH, the value is never exact! The QNH announced by Pilot2Atc always returns a higher altitude (about 300ft) than the QNH of FS2020 ( for example, when I press on "B" to automatically set the altimeter, the altidue is never the same as advertised. in Pilot2ATC). Is there something that I didn't understand? Sorry in advance for the syntax errors, I am French and my English is not perfect !
  5. Hi, It started today afer an PMDG center update. When I select the vehicle, any B737NGX, after all systems initiate the plane sinks to the ground and P3D V4 resets to default flight. I tried other vehicles in the P3D V4 selection and this does not happen. I suspect the altimeter because I get a message that says my altimeter is set incorrectly, but my attempts to reset the altimeter failed. Thanks for any help Carlos Alvarez
  6. Thanks for adding me to the group ! started building some instruments for cockpit builders, what do you guys think about it ? It is the first prototype and the finish is a bit rough. Also waiting on some new equipement to achieve real backlighting. altimeter 1 altimeter 2
  7. Hello all fellow 441 flyers. Anyone else have an issue where your altimeter suddenly jumps up when passing FL190/FL200? Around that range mine jumps a good 2 to 3 thousand feet. GPS altitude doesn't change, only pressure. I have to descend back down to FL170 before it will read correctly again. Only does it in this aircraft.
  8. Hi guys, Sorry for double posting this, I hooked on to a previous topic that talked about the rotary and slow/fast controls of the baro minimums and altimeter knobs, but I think my question will remain a bit snowed under since it was a topic from back in February. So here goes again: P3Dv4, latest updates to the 747 have been applied. I wanted to set the controls of the altimiter and the minimums selector to rotary yesterday, because the slow/fast control just takes too much fiddling for my taste. But when I attempted to change it in the FMC the two items on the corresponding page (20/22) seemed to be frozen for some reason. I couldn't get them to change over. I tried all the other pages in the settings and found that all settings were editable. I'm not sure what is up here, but I thought I would mention it, as it seems something that should be looked at. In the meantime I have gone into the .cfg file and manually changed the setting from =0 to =1 and now it is fine in the simulator, but of course this is not the preferred method. Anyone else seeing this issue? If so, I guess I should open a ticket so the information passes by the devs.
  9. This addon inserts two new weather themes in Microsoft Flight: Light Snow It has been snowing all day, but flying should be safe as long as you stay out of the clouds. Heavy Snow A heavy snowstorm makes flying at low altitudes a real challenge. Don't forget to set your altimeter to 28.99 inHg. Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/md6bmb37nhlhgc4/Snow_weather_themes.zip How to Install: Install the file Snow_weather_themes.flightAddon with the latest version of the Flight Toolkit by stonelance.
  10. Hi, Quick question that's been bugging me. How come the pilot2atc app never gives me altimeter information? When i file a flight plan, and request clearance, taxi, takeoff i never get the altimeter setting. Also, if during in flight, I use PTT and do a Say Altimeter, it tells me altimeter information is not available. In case this matters, i have the pilot2atc provides atis information checkbox unchecked. Not sure if that matters though as it gives me pretty much everything else i need in the clearance. Thanks, Joe
