  1. Hi, Do the T/C and T/D can be seen elsewhere than on the ND? My interest would be to get the estimated time of T/C and T/D that are not displayed on the ND.
  2. Hi,When using the NGX with either default FSX online weather or an external program such as AS2012 or such, I'm finding that all weather depiction in FSX has trouble interpolating temperatures aloft; at least on my setup. For example, in between the normal published reporting levels, the temperatures aloft in FSX tend to stay at the temperature of the current or lower reporting level for too long before transitioning to the temperature at the next reporting level. There isn't simply isn't enough interpolation between the weather reporting levels for a realistic, smooth temperature change as the aircraft is climbed into the higher flight levels. As a result, with the high fidelity flight and engine performance dynamics inherent in an aircraft like the PMDG NGX, the 737NGX tends to climb at a sporadic rate, rather than a realistic, predictable climb to higher altitudes. Climb rate when flying a constant IAS or MACH should of course diminish as the aircraft gains altitude, but with the NGX on my installation I experience normal climb rates that will suddenly diminish and taper off from around 2000 feet a minute at around FL240 (at standard weights) to something like 200 feet a minute. Sometimes the NGX will even level off for a few seconds during the climb as it struggles to maintain constant airspeed. It's very easy to predict when this anomaly will happen because I can monitor the true outside air temp on the FMC Progress page 2. The NGX struggles when the temperature aloft is not changing fast enough from the previous reporting level to the temperature at the next highest reporting level. When the temperature finally does begin to match that of the next higher reporting level, the NGX's climb rate shoots back up to around 2000 fpm again. I essentially experience periods of temperature induced 'climb porpoising' in any given situation and I'm not able so far to find a way around it. Again, I experience this with default FSX online weather and either AS2012 or ASE. I have a registered version of FSUIPC installed, but I've also been able to reproduce the climb behavior with FSUIPC completely uninstalled. One might suspect some kind of situation with SIMCONNECT, but since I experience the climb problem even with default FSX online weather this would seem to rule that out as well. Do any of you guys NOT experience this kind of climb behavior with the NGX and online real weather of any kind? I'm just wondering if this is a situation one has to live with given the limitations on how FSX is currrently able to depict weather or if there is something that perhaps can be fixed on my side.Thank you for any help or insight!Signed,John C.   3. Hi! A few questions about how to handle an engine failure during takeoff (after V1). Yesterday I armed a engine failure after V1, manually climbed 1500ft and engaged autopilot but I noticed that I cannot engage autothrottle. Is that normal? Should the autothrottle not be used under any engine failure conditions? How about the landing weight? Would it be normal policy to land the aircraft in an engine failure (not engine fire) occured after takeoff if you are a bit abowe max weight? Say 5000-6000lbs. Or should you circle around to burn fuel with one engine since the 737 has no fuel dump capability? Thanks! Kaj Ekström
  4. Ok, so say I have been designated a SID to follow after takeoff, the SID has strict rules for climbing for example at 4000ft at a certain waypoint, then 5000ft next one and so on. Then after takeoff atc instructs me let say for example "climb FL 150". Should I just forget the published restrictions and shoot up or obey the restrictions until past the last restriction point and then just climb to assigned FL? And if I follow the restrictions, say the ATC directs starts all of a sudden giving me vectors (which take me off my published SID lateral route) out of the terminal area, can I at that point forget about the alt restrictions since I am not even flying the published SID anymore? Thanks!
  5. Hello all,I use the PSS concorde, and I follow this procedure. (from takeoff)Reheat on, full throttle. At approx 190kts, nose up to approx 18 degrees.At 500' RA or 01:11 on the timer, reheats off, nose down to 250kts and throttle back, maintain 250kts with the pitch, Vis/0.at 4000' on the QNH, Visor up, and pitch down to around 8-10 degrees. When reaching FL100, set speed to 390kts and INS (GPS hold) on. Then I let the aircraft climb up to FL280.At FL280, I wait until coastline at around 400kts (apprx 0.95M) When I reach coastline, I turn off the A/T, put full throttle on, then activate reheat again and engage max climb.The aircraft sits there at around 100f/m, and won't climb. I have a gross weight of about 150,000Kg. I remember one time it actually worked and I got up to FL500 just over Ireland (before I found a load of real concorde Fpls) but I can't remember what I did.
  6. Hi everyone I just bought the 777, but there is one issue I have had on most of my flights. This did not happen when I flew the tutorial flight, but every flight thereafter. During the climb (above 10000 feet) and cruise portion of my flight, my 777 will randomly over speed. As an example, I was flying from VECC-OMDB, and I was climbing through 14 000 feet. I was flying at 308 knots, and the red lines on the airspeed indicator were at about 325 knots. Everything was going well until suddenly, the speed popped up to 400 knots, triggering the over speed alarm, and disconnecting the autopilot. Then, just as the situation occurred, it corrected itself. This usually happens multiple times throughout my flight, and usually, during the cruise, the situation doesn't correct myself as it does during climb. I always derate my takeoffs with an assumed temperature, or a fixed derate, if not, both. I don't understand why I am having this issue, I fly my routes just like I flew the tutorial flight, but the issue still persists. I have conducted a forum search, but I got no results, however, I may have overlooked something, if there is a previous topic on this issue, I apologize, and would appreciate if I could get a link to that topic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
