  1. Hi, i was flying the pmdg 737-800 and I wanted to load the forecast in the des page but there was a problem. I clicked ,request forecast’, but when I hit load, it said ,datalink config invalid’. Do you have any idea how I can fix that? ps: I introduced the flight plan myself( i didn’t load any f plan)
  2. Hi all, I am using flight sim software since... at least Sublogic Flight Simulator 1 on Apple II... During the last few years I was more involved in military flight sims (IL2, DCS A-10 mostly) but I now feel the need to restart some activity in civilian sims... I had used FS 2004 for quite some time, using IVAO/VATSIM. I bought FSX when it came out but the quality of the program when it was first published was probably a reason for me to switch to other sims... Being a bit tired of flying the A-10 over Georgia (DCS A-10), I wanted a few weeks ago to start again flying liners and the most possible realistic environment. So I did gather the several FSX compatible programs I already have and bought several others. I installed all this and started flying (737 NGX) but was a bit unsatisfied by graphic performance and visual aspect... That was when I found the DX10 forum in AVSIM B) So I did a fresh, complete reinstall this weekend, using DX10 set-up, and the result is quite ok most of the time (steady 30 FPS, buit I notice big slow-downs around large airports (without scenery add-on). Let me describe in detail my configuration : PC : i3770K mildly OC'ed to 4.0 GhZ, 16 Gb RAM, Z77 Asus Formula V mb, ASUS Matrix Platinum HD7970 3 Gb, Windows 8/64 running on system SSD, another SSD dedicated to FSX and add-ons, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog, display DELL U2713HM 2560x1440. FSX : installed on a dedicated SSD FSX Deluxe/SP1/SP2 using DX10 preview, DX10 Shader Patch 3.2.2, most tweaks applied from the "How To..." doc here fsx.cfg initially modified as per bojote website, then tweaked a bit more (I can post my fsx.cfg content if you need it) Using RadeonPro for advanced graphic settings, mostly AA and DFC limiter to 30 FPS. FSX add-ons : Ultimate Terrain X - Europe, GEX - Europe REX Essential + Overdrive, not using weather engine. Set-up to use 1024 textures. ActiveSky 2012, not using graphics. RadarContact, Ultimate Traffic 2 PMDG 737 NGX A few airports add-ons So, when I fly with stock FSX aircraft on a "standard" airport and scenery (including AS/REX weather and UT2 traffic), I almost always get solid 30 FPS with no artifacts or stuttering on my 2560x1440 display (I am using windowed mode to be able to switch to some add-ons, with the tweak to use borderless window frame). But I noticed several cases where my FPS drops to 13-15, which is IMHO a bit rude with such a config (I can probably overclock a bit more, but that's not the point). - Flying around some complex areas : If I try LFPG (Paris Roissy - Charles de Gaulle ; I live near Paris), using stock airport (no add-on, except what brings UTX/GEX) and UT2 traffic (75% liners setting, 25% GA), when I am on ground or in close visual flight, my FPS drops to 13 :angry: - PMDG 737 NGX : VC drops framerate around 20-25 sometimes, but seems to vary, I need to further investigate this (just a few quick trials yesterday). BUT If I use the head-up display, frames drops a further 10, which is at the lower limit of playability - if I use 737 VC + HUD in LFPG, my FPS should be around 10-13. Do you think that with my PC config and software, getting such FPS is more or less normal ? or should I start tweaking fsx.cfg/RadeonPro settings a bit more with your help ? As said, I can post my fsx.cfg and RadeonPro settings here. Thanks for reading and for your help ! Chris
  3. Just updated my mobo/ram/gpu/cpu. Still trying to get things stable. I am experiencing some CTDs in Orbx PNW. I didn't reinstall windows or FSX; rather, I upgraded parts and tried to follow Word Not Allowed's guide. 4. And it came to pass that K-Man did see a future of flying high in the skies and learning to be a virtual pilot to fly upon the holy Vatsim and join a mighty Virtual Airline that he could zoom around in his PMDG 737 NGX with. Low, legend says, that K-Man, after having such dreams of epic fun, did go forth and throw nearly $5000 out upon a Rig of Legendary Epicness. It did look something like this: Intel 3930k 6-Core CPU OC'd to 4.6ghz-Stable with Corsair H100i Water Cooler ASUS Sabertooth X79 Overclocking Motherboard 32 Gigs of G.Skill Rampage set to 1600mhz with 9-9-9-24-1T timings ASUS GTX 770 DCII OC Video card with 2 Gigs of DDR5 Ram 2 WD Velociraptors 10k RPM HDDs and 1 Black WD 7200 RPM HDD 3x24" ASUS 1920x1080 Monitors Saitek X65F, Saitek Combat Pedals, Saitek Professional Yoke and Throttle Quad Win 7 64-bit Pro fully up to date on updates and all drivers at the latest and greatest And he built it. And it was good and all games thrown upon the altar of gaming sacrifice were accepted and consumed by the gods of gaming. At last, it was time to grab the legendary beast, FSX, and conqueror and make it his epic flying mount. And so with great joy he did install the beast and he did slide the sliders of doom to their maxes and did minor tweaks to prep for wide screen goodness across 3 monitors and when he opened the sacred FSX and did load his first flight from his home airport of Dallas Love Field in Texas, he did weep at the beauty of it all but his tears turned from joy into anguish for the FRAPS FPS counter did say that this $5000 machine of Legendary Epicness was only hammering a meer 52 FPS in the Virtual Cockpit. Some prophets of the great FSX would argue, that is good, but K-Man did say NAY for a $5000 Legendary Machine should be able to crush a foe that was unleashed in 2006. And then he read upon the Internetz that FSX code sucks more than the black hole at the center of the galaxy but there was light upon the grim news for the community had written 132 different guides, all different and all contradicting themselves. And then it came to pass that K-Man did find the Holy Grail of FSX Tweakers known as *******'s Auto Tweaker. With eagerness he did click upon the tweaker after plugging in his PC stats and behold, *******'s popped out a config with all manner of Blues and Reds and said, 'Do these things that I command and ye shall have a smooth and glorious FSX.' Alas... they were but empty promises that brought tearing, black textures and stutters that are the story of legend among those who have fought with the FSX beast. Upon more tomes of knowledge he did pour his time, digging into dungeons deep and low and behold.. he did find the Word Not Allowed's Guide and the AVSIM Guide and the tome of NVIDIA Inspector and he did do these things Set AffinityMask to 62 to unleash the power of 5 of the 6 non-threaded cores Set the often abused and misunderstood Bufferpools to 0 for the mighty GTX 770 DR2 OC should surely be able to handle the load! Did install FTX Global to add non-suck textures and fix the broken trees Did turn off all scenery traffic, air and ground and did slide the clouds back to 70miles from 100miles for Rex Essentials Had gifted him with clouds of beauty.. and clouds of wrecking ball FPS destruction. He did set the glorious Fiber Frames to a meer 0.01, the setting of the gods! His Texture Bandwidth was 120 for the power and speed of the GPU and CPU and the masses of RAM and VRAM should be able to benefit! He did set his Inspector up to do 4xS rather than the community suggested 8xSQ for SQ makes the clouds eat upon the cherished FPS like so much delicious cherry pie and behold the results: Before Tweaks : After Tweaks Virtual Cocpit: 52 72 Outside Left View: 63 83 Orbital: 87 148 Flyby: 123 174 Improvements made, he cheered at the victory that was his. At last... it ran better though he was not yet satisfied for the many many MANY videos upon the YouTubes did show people with lesser and inferior machines of ancient lore blasting through the sky with 50 add-ons, ENB injectors and tons of maxed settings while recording with the greatest of ease. His own machine weeped bitter tears at attempting to even think about recording. True, most who make such videos, do in fact lie, so K-Man was told, by letting their editing software correct the terrible FPS they were in fact getting while recording but then there were those who did not appear to cheat. They just... DID. And K-Man's jealousy grew for these mere mortals with their lowly ancient machines had the appearance of making his Legendary Machine look like a giant paperweight before the beast! For over 2 months he tried many many tweak configs, suggestions, hints, ancient voodoo rituals... nothing seemed to work. He uninstalled and re-installed FSX and the plethora of addons no less than 6 times, starting over from scratch when he mangled his install to badly and STILL he could not get the performance others had boasted about and so... he settled on the After Tweaks numbers above and locked down the FPS to 30 and set the Vsync in the Inspector to 1/2 Refresh. Smoothness... beauty.... no stutters.. good load times on textures... minor blurries. And so... he thought he had slain the beast... but it was not to be so... for on this very day.... he did re-install the following add-ons: FTX Global (Without Lights Option since it punches FPS right in the nether regions) FSUPIC for without this FSX does explode and catch fire upon exiting a flight REX with Essentials Overdrive for it's textures are unmatched though it's weather engine doth smoke much crack on wind turbulence PMDG 737 800/900NGX with SP1C for this plane is the mother of all planes. Keep your shiny new 777... the 800NG is the love and dream of this pilot... though the 777 is coming next for K-Man does wish to fly to Japan one day. He has many more add-ons to yet add such as cities and airports, all payware. But he stopped at PMDG 737 for when he loaded back in with his AMAZING performance listed above, PMDG did grab the FPS by it's throat and choke the Legendary PC to death, demanding its wallet and jewelry, with Rex's Cloud Generation system cackling in the background. FSX could now no longer hold to the 30 FPS it was locked at and was more around 22 FPS just after takeoff over DFW, getting back to 30 FPS once clearing about 12000 feet. This is without REX weather running, just the default Fair Weather. If Rex was allowed to run it's weather they would stomp the Legendary PC into the earth. K-Man's mind was then blown... for that means between PMDG and REX Clouds over 50 FPS was lost... from ONE plane... and some fluffy clouds. Do not even dare to go inside the eye of a storm for each drop of rain are the tears of many who have fought FSX about bad weather and lost.... 15 FPS upon takeoff in a storm... He had tweaked all, read all, done all over and over and over again. He cannot slay the beast! He dare not add back Utlimate Traffic 2 for between that, PMDG and REX the FPS will be -25 which will cause the entire universe to be destroyed and all who fly upon it. Attached is the FSX.CFG file of K-Man as it currently stands. How do people like Frooglepete on YouTube get their bloody FSX to run smooth as glass in their videos? K-Man has followed all their suggestions and nothing works. The Legendary Computer puts up a legendary middle-finger and refuses to throw a proper saddle on FSX's back so it can be ridden to glory... It's enough to drive a man to drink.... oh wait.. I am drinking... which is why this entire post is in 3rd person and told old school fantasy style. I just want to fly my PMDG with Rex Weather, FTX Global and Ultimate Traffic 2 running and have it stay stable at 30FPS... T_T There should be no reason for this PC to not be able to do this when people with older 2600k and 960's and GTX 400/500 series video cards are just whizzing around with no problems. What am I missing? *hides in the corner crying* And apparently I can't attach any kind of file so... if anyone wants to see my FSX.CFG file just PM me. Any help is appreciated.
  5. Hi Folks Following occurred on Windows 7. YMMV. Hadn't been in multiplayer for quite some time, (> 6 months), and even longer since last using voicecomms mic/headphones. Investigating missing aircraft from Hangar, following Stonelance's info request, when 2 players unexpectedly joined my session. No response to my in-game text messages, but noticed 1 player using voicecomms, (icon was active in LLHC of window), Dug out headset from drawer, and tried untangling cable/plugs, meantime crediting profile with yet another destroyed airframe, then attempted to voice communicate. N.B. For all aspects throughout, Control Panel's Playback Volume/Recording Level indicators test mechanisms indicated both playback & recording levels as being OK. Game sounds were reasonably leveled, but voicecomm's volume was extremely low. I could just hear that the player was speaking, but not loud enough to discern what was being said. I then tried the following, and for each adjustment, returned to in-game flight, to test whether 3rd party could hear me - - Initially tried W7 System Tray's mixer/volume controls, with no appreciable difference. - Tried adjusting FLIGHT's OPTIONS AUDIO menu, same result. - Tried adjusting LIVE settings, again similar. LIVE's Voice test-panel confirmed mic was working ok, albeit requiring slightly higher volume of speech than normal. - Tried in-game, but other player couldn't hear me. - Tried Control Panel's Sound applet, again same. - Restarted both 'audio' and 'audio endpoint builder', with same results. - Disabled/renabled audio device, again same results. - Repeated restart for audio/audio endpoint builder, again same. - Repeated LIVE's voice configuration & tests, again still same low level. - Tried adjusting FLIGHT's OPTIONS AUDIO menu. In all cases, despite maxing vols/mic-sensitivity/etc, none of previous would improve/increase audio levels for - - Bar-Graphs to display > 2 of 10 - Other player to even hear that I was talking, (versus open mic). Then it clicked - I remembered that, since my last FLIGHT voicecomms session, I'd played with, & configured W7's native 'Speech Recognition'. Launched control-panel's SR applet, performed its mic-test, which supposedly passed ok, but suspiciously, the bar-graph showed almost 99% speech in yellow band, i.e. way too low. Repeatedly tried several adjustment options, none of which improved microphone's response. Tried the 'Advanced Speech Options' applet, and its various 'Microphone' config buttons, which initially did nothing new, till I clicked 'Advanced', and switched from 'Use Preferred Audio Device', to 'Use This Audio Device'. Whatever it was, Clicking Apply 'unlocked' the sensitivity & boost aspects, permitting adjustment, and resulting appropriate microphone sensitivity. Clicking OK, unexpectedly initiated a required reboot, (my apologies JH for session closure). Bottom line - Your 'Speech Recognition' configuration profile settings apparently take precedence, overriding your microphone sensitivity settings. HTH ATB Paul
  6. Hello Guys, I installed the PSS 777 after a fresh install of Windows 7 and a fresh install also of Flight Simulator 9, When I entered Load Config in PSS Folder, I select the passengers, the cargo & the fuel and clicked save config, then I opened FS9 and chose the 777 and I found that the payload (Passengers & Cargo) are correct but The fuel always stick to 100% at all times, I tried to install a fresh copy of windows and fs9 and still the same problem ( it is also for pss 757 ),, If any one knows how to solve this problem please reply to the post. Thanks
  7. Hello. My problem is next: I start a flight with payware aircraft at payware airport. On the ground and until ~FL300 all is OK. But when I fly high my FPS go down and I have a freezes. I always think that must be vise versa. Any suggestions? PC: i7 3770k OC 4,7 GHz, Asus Z77, 8 Gb RAM 1600 MHz, GTX 760 My FSX.cfg
  8. Hi, I was wandering why did you omitted the TAKEOFF CONFIG and CABIN ALTITUDE annunciators in the left/right forward panel ? Them are present in you manuals and in the real aircraft. Thanks Andrea Casolari
  9. Is there a way to get autogen to start appearing from further away? Specifically, I feel that trees should be rendered from further away. buildings are okay to have at the max the in-game settings allow, but trees are almost part of what we would want to see as part of the far-away textures, but auto-gen won't render them further away. I see in the Prepar3d.cfg file in the user folder it has: AUTOGEN_TREE_MAX_DRAW_DISTANCE This defaults to 9500 (is it feet?) and allows you to go as high as 12000 before forcing it back down to 12000. This does seem to make the trees appear sooner than buildings, but not by much. AUTOGEN_TREE_MIN_DISTANCE_TO_LOD=2500.000000 (default) What does this do, exactly? Is there any sort of comprehensive list of what every setting in the .cfg files does, especially this .cfg file? Thank you in advance,
  10. I have this odd problem where any adjustments I make to the FSX in-game settings are deleted the next time I run FSX. I haven't found a way to stop it, but I found out that if I close FSX and FSX Booster, which I'm using (I think that when FSX Booster saves the fsx.cfg file, it overwrites the FSX settings, but that doesn't explain why the standard.xml file was overwritten), and then edit whatever configuration file I need to manually, the change saves. However, I currently need to change the sensitivity and null zone on my joystick, but I don't know what file that would be in. I can't find it in the fsx.cfg or Standard.xml. Anybody know?Thanks,boeing247
  11. Hi, I am trying out J41 for the first time. I keep getting config warnings as I advance power for take off. I can not think what the problem is. 12. I am posting this in the FSX forum, because I am not sure what the work around will be. This is the issue at hand; 1. click on "Scenery Config Editor" select airport "A". 2. click on FSX.exe and select airport "A". 3. airport "A" has no AES support. 4. click on AEShelp.exe. AES sees airport "A" and asks to "Activate" it. 5. activate airport "A" in AES. AES says activation will take on next FSX startup. 6. close AES and FSX. 7. click on FSX and select airport "A", now have AES support for airport "A". 8. finish flying FSX and close program. 9. click on "Scenery Config Editor" deselect airport "A". 10. in "Scenery Config Editor" select airport "B". See where this is going? opening AES prior to opening FSX will not help. You have to open FSX, open AES, let AES activate airport "B" and so on and so on. Anyone have a solution for this "Dog and Pony Show"?
  13. I just connected a second Phidget LED64 board to drive my annunciator panel in my homecockpit. It works fine and I was very pleased. So I started to make the final assignements for all datarefs to be adressed by the Phidget boards and adapted the existing config file accordingly. When I started X-plane it simply crashed and looking into the log.txt file it crashed because of the Phidget64 sender application. Putting back the original configfile (also with 2 boards) doesn't crash X-plane so I started to look for the differences between the two files. Unfortunately I am unable to determine what makes x-plane crash on one file while it simple starts OK on the other file. Below you will find both config files (the one that crashes X-plane and the one which is OK). Problem is that the Phidget64 plugin simply doesn't give any clue on what is causing the crash, it simply crashes X-plane and that's it!!! Or is there a 'hidden' logfile somewhere that gives some insight on why the plugin crashes? The manual is also not very clear on any required conventions (e.g. remarks in the file, sequence, valid Datarefs etc...) other then the structure of one line entry. I'm very happy that it is possible to connect 2 Phidgetboards and it works great but this kind of behaviour drives me totally nuts..... :wacko: :wacko: This is the configfile that crashes X-plane: ;Copyright © 2013, BajuSoftware LLC ;Configuration File for datarefs ;Version 2.41 ;Format: Port|ID|dataref ;------------------------------------------ ;IP Address 127.0.0.1 ;Interval 0.2 ;DataRefs 50001|1I_00@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/flight_director 50001|1I_01@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/autopilot 50001|1I_02@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/master_warning 50001|1I_03@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/master_caution 50001|2I_04@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/generator_off 50001|2I_06@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/igniter_on 50001|2I_08@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/oil_pressure_low 50001|1I_10@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/ice 50001|1I_11@0|sim/cockpit/warnings/annunciators/ice 50001|1I_12@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/pitot_heat 50001|1I_13@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/landing_taxi_lite 50001|1I_14@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/fuel_quantity 50001|1I_15@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/inverter_off 50001|1I_16@0|sim/cockpit2/radios/indicators/outer_marker_lit 50001|1I_17@0|sim/cockpit2/radios/indicators/middle_marker_lit 50001|1I_18@0|sim/cockpit2/radios/indicators/inner_marker_lit 50001|1I_19@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/autopilot_disconnect 50001|2I_20@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/fuel_pressure_low 50001|2I_22@0|sim/cockpit2/annunciators/oil_temperature_high 50001|3F_24@0|sim/flightmodel2/gear/deploy_ratio 50001|3F_27@0|sim/flightmodel2/gear/deploy_ratio ;
