  1. Our friends over at DCS (The Fighter Collection) at Duxford, sent us a press release this morning regarding numerous updates t their products. Here is a list of the updates. You can find a discussion about these in our DCS forums here. You can find these updates and products at the DCS site. DCS World 1.2.0 Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS World) is a FREE, unified interface for all DCS products; you can think of DCS World as a simulation operating system. DCS modules that plug into DCS World can include aircraft, maps, ground units, campaigns, etc. Not only can DCS World include modules developed internally by Eagle Dynamics, but it can also include those by certified third party developers. DCS World also includes a FREE Su-25T attack aircraft with missions and a campaign. DCS World not only includes the Graphical User Interface (GUI) that ties all DCS products together in a single installation, but it also includes the global aspects of the simulation world that pertains to all modules. This includes such items at the Artificial Intelligence (AI), rendering system, mission editor, effects, AI units, semi-dynamic campaign system and audio environment. Other items of DCS World include: • News feed of DCS products and events • Selectable wall paper • Free updates to keep DCS World current Download DCS World and the free Su-25T from: http://www.digitalco...pos=137&lang=en DCS: P-51D Mustang Beta Update The next beta version of DCS: P-51D Mustang is now available for download. Access to the beta is provided with a pre-purchase of the Mustang from: http://www.digitalco...roducts&lang=en Important updates to the DCS Mustang include: • Added oil and heat management modelling and control • Added cockpit and force feedback shaking • Improved stability • Improved flight dynamics • Trimmers adjusted for better accuracy • Aircraft damage improved • Tail wheel swivelling adjusted • New aircraft skins added and existing models updated • WWII era flight helmets added • Campaign missions tuned • Cockpit systems tuned DCS: A-10C Warthog, Patch 1.2.0 This new patch to the A-10C Warthog addresses the following items: • Cockpit improvements • Avionics corrections • AI wingmen and JTAC behaviour corrections • Force Feedback improvements • Improved stability and performance Purchase DCS: A-10C Warthog from: http://www.digitalco...roducts&lang=en DCS: Black Shark 2, Patch 1.2.0 This patch to Black Shark 2 includes the following: • Improved stability • Corrected several cockpit functions • Corrected faulty textures • Resolved audio message problems Purchase DCS: Black Shark 2 from: http://www.digitalco...roducts&lang=en

  6. Hi all, this is my first post in this forum and I just tumbled over that cool looking and surely highly exelent tool LINDA. I used to design Scenery for FSX but got sucked into the DCS series. I am looking for a driver for all my saitek panels and switch panels to use it in DCS. There is a tool to assign keystrokes to buttons for the Saitek Flight Yoke, Throttle Quadrant, and the pedals but you can't assign the switch panel because it is not seen by the program. So my question is: Dear developer, I would pay money to get a tool like Linda for the DCS series from EagleDynamics. This tool looks so wonderfull and has not to be that fancy as it is right now for FSX. I just want a tool which has access to the switch panel and that you can assign keystrokes to the switches, not more. The radio panel and the multipanel is not of any use in DCS FC3, but maybe in Black Shark and A10C. I do not want to advertise for the DCS Series but I want to use my Saitek stuff for it. From the helpdesk at MAdcats I just got a swap over to ED that they should take care of programming a suitable driver for it. So if anybody Is able to help me out it would be much appriciated. Please yell at mee, if I broke any rule... Many thanks for your attention! Cheers and happy flying Demon

  9. We received the following press release today from our friends over at DCS: Quote: MOSCOW, Russia – October 1st, 2013 - Flight simulation developers Oleg Maddox, Ilya Shevchenko, and Igor Tishin, are happy to announce that they will be releasing the Eagle Dynamics Graphics Engine (EDGE) landscape editor SDK to the backers of their ongoing DCS WWII: Europe 1944 Kickstarter campaign. Announcement video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCauXtM1Gjk&hd=1 The SDK can be used to create new landscapes for the DCS WWII project. It's an all-in-one tool that combines a 3D object library, texture manager, and a landscape editor. With a full 24-hour day cycle, options for multiple seasons and time periods on the same map, and industry-best level of detail, EDGE is designed for and tested by real pilots to ensure it meets the highest standards of realism. The developers hope that the DCS WWII community can organize a concentrated effort to design and create one or more new landscapes for the upcoming flight simulation. The SDK should be available to project backers later this year. The Kickstarter campaign for DCS WWII: Europe 1944 has successfully reached its base funding goal, and is now working to reach a stretch goal that adds the Messerschmitt Me.262 jet fighter to the simulation. The project is scheduled for a Fall 2014 release, with Alpha and closed Beta access to project backers. DCS WWII: Europe 1944 Features: Detailed recreations of famous WWII aircraft, including the Republic P-47D-28 Thunderbolt; Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX; Messerschmitt Bf-109K-4; Focke-Wulf FW.190D-9; and the North-American P-51D Mustang. Meticulous modeling of individual aircraft systems. Combat theater map painstakingly recreated from period maps. Rich single-player experience recreating famous battles from both sides. Dynamic weather and seasons add a beautiful backdrop and additional challenges to each sortie. 11. What a Sim this is. Working hard on getting to grips with the new A-10C.
  12. Welcome to the all new DCS P-51 Mustang forum. Today, DCS announced its soon to be released P-51 Mustang high fidelity combat simulator. This will be released sometime in 2012. Here is what DCS had to say about the product:QUOTE:The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics will release their next Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) aircraft in 2012: the legendary P-51D Mustang. The Mustang was among the best and most well-known fighters used by the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Possessing excellent range and manoeuvrability, the P-51 operated primarily as a long-range escort fighter and also as a ground attack fighter-bomber with bombs, rockets, and machine guns. The Mustang served in nearly every combat zone during WWII, and later fought in the Korean War.The DCS: P-51D Mustang will be modelled at the same exacting detail as the existing Ka-50 Black Shark and A-10C Warthog Digital Combat Simulation (DCS) aircraft and it will be online compatible with them. Based on many years of restoring, flying and maintaining Mustangs, The Fighter Collection brings its unique ability to portray this aircraft in its full glory. The P-51D will be the first aircraft in the Flying Legends series that focuses on historical aircraft that have set benchmarks in combat aviation. This series of simulations demonstrates the broad scope of DCS simulation environment and its ability to introduce aircraft from all eras into a common simulation environment. While the P-51D started as an internal technology demonstration, it has evolved into an independent product that adds an all new dimension to the DCS universe. The development of the P-51D and other Flying Legends series aircraft definitely does not preclude the continued development of modern aircraft.More details of DCS: P-51D Mustang will be made available closer to product release later this year.More information, visit: www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/UNQUOTEHere are some PRE ALPHA images that they have provided AVSIM:

  15. Having completed my first successful* flight in the newly released DCS: Fw 190 D-9, I think it's safe to say that I am already an expert pilot and well on my way to becoming an ace. Herewith the photographic proof. * read: "non-lethal" Beginning the takeoff roll and feelin' good: As I pick up speed, I perform what I like to call the "bicycle takeoff". Deliberately, of course. It's like a wheelie for planes. Once in the air, I fly the runway heading* and set the power to climb. * +/- 15 degrees I vaguely recall a myth about a fellow named Icarus. Can't remember the details. I'm sure it's not important. Ignore those weapon arming lights. I wasn't firing the guns for fun or anything like that. Vroom! On my second circuit (the first ended up as a missed appr--I mean, low pass). Coming in for a landing! Like a glove! I decided to use the grass instead. The runway is too mainstream. Didn't need that. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how it's done! I hope you all have enjoyed this masterclass in flying the 190. Don't worry if it takes a while to get the hang of it; even a pro such as myself had to start someplace*. * i.e., at the bottom of a smoldering crater

  20. Just browsing the rest of AVSIM since MSFLIGHT is going down under and was really hoping for more participation in DCS. I know that you guys play it(well some) but there is absolutely no content here or articles, videos and try this/try that posts. I just bought this from STEAM SUMMER Sale and imma fire it up this weekend. It looks very tough(as I am not a pilot and consider myself a n00b when it comes to flight simming) Anyways, I am excited to give it a shot and hoping multiplayer is active **Edit: Okay, I did find some of you guys here http://forum.avsim.n.../529-dcs-world/
  21. Hi guys, Thought I'd point this out in case people are interested. All DCS modules except the Black Shark Republic Campaign and the L-39 are on sale on Steam right now. You can activate the Steam keys for your standalone version of DCS. Merry Christmas!
