Hi, I've recently had a problem when I switch from dx10, whenever I do I load up the sim, which loads for a few seconds, then my computer freezes and reboots, however the sim does work in dx10. I have tried reinstalling fsx but this hasn't helped. The only change I have made was setting up sim connect. Please help

FSX with DX9 doesn't work properly. Every aircraft has the same problem. I only have these graphics problems with DX9. Please take a look: http://youtu.be/gm78fleFq1s Everything was ok and it changed some day. FSX with DX10 runs well, but I get less frame rates and I want to keep my FSX with DX9. Hey, I am wondering is there a triple screen fix for Rain in FSX DX9 Mode only. I do see in the forums, that there is a fix in DX10. But at the moment, I have to run FSX in DX9 (took me forever to get it right, not jumping to DX10 at the moment...) I just need to change the crappy rain cylinder to fill the entire screen. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Skywolf

Hi Everyone.. I just purchased the CaptainSim 777 recently and have been running with Steve's DX10 fixes.. In the VC, when i look out straight, everything in the cockpit is very dark/poorly lit. As I turn my head using EZDOK, things start to light up and shadows move, etc.. but I move my head back to pilot position, all shadows converge on the panel and whole cockpit gets dark (regardless of where the sun is relative to aircraft). When I move out of the VC, i see that there is a black capsule that surrounds the VC in CaptainSim 777. May be this is causing the problem? I read on their website that their 777 is supposed to be DX10 compatible.

I have been a super happy customer of FSX for sometime now with all the juicy addons like REX, ORBX, NGX, etc. Just when i thought i was perfectly content with all the eye candy in FSX, i stumbled upon a P3D video which showed cockpit VC shadows.. and my jaw dropped! Since then, i've been exploring 4 options: FSX vs X-plane vs P3D vs FSX-DX10. 1. X-plane still seems like a grad school project to me.. i know its 64-bit, DX11, etc, and therefore has huge potential, but right now it is miles away from FSX + addons. The mouse control in the VC itself is a deal breaker for me - i can't buy a flightsim software that was designed keeping Macbook's in mind! 2. P3D - this is same as FSX + DX11 => which means, cloud shadows in addition to VC shadows. But still no VC rain! And it's not worth buying my favorite PMDG toys again at a much higher price.. 3. So that leaves me with FSX + DX10 as the best option. I'm glad to know that DX10 will also use my GPU to its fullest ability thereby reducing CPU load and hence lesser OOM events. But my question is (sorry for the long intro) 1. how much tweaking will i have to do in my other addons after installing DX10? Will this mess up flytampa and aerosoft sceneries? what other nasty surprises one might find after dx10 fixer install? 2. does DX10 fixer also enable me to use the "bloom" effect in FSX? will there be a performance hit? thanks Vinod.

Folks, Happy holidays! Quick question, does Nvidia Inspector automatically run once installed and a profile created when launching FSX, or do I need to do something to get the profile to run when using FSX? Thanks in advance for any answers! Cheers,

fsx-ms Which is the most realistic (In your opinion)
aaronshenhao posted a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hi, I am trying to figure out which of these options looks the closest to real life. I did buy P3D, but my PC couldn't run it smoothly so I had to revert back to FSX. Right now I am using it with ENB. In your opinion, please rate it from 1-5, 1 being the most realistic and 5 being the least. Default FSX FSX with ENB (state which ENB) FSX with a mod (state which mod) FSX with DX10 FSX with DX10 fixer Which one looks closest to real life? I'm having a hard time figuring it out. -
Can/should I upgrade my FSX system from using DX9 to DX10? How do I do this? What are the factors affecting the decision? My system is Win7 Home Premium with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX590.

I just wanted to ask a quick question on Direct X 10 and 9. I've been getting around 20-24 average fps in the PMDG 737 with Direct X 9, and when I use Dx10 with the Fixer by Steve I get an average of 18-20 fps. A few months ago I installed FSX on my new pc and I did immediately started using the Fixer, I was getting 26-33 average fps, but also at the time using Dx9 gave me 15-18 fps? So it's completely the other way round now? I might just reinstall FSX again, that's what they say, reinstall FSX every few months.
