  1. Hello everyone, I am just wondering if PMDG could make a EFB for there B772/3 aircraft. Am not to sure if this "topic" has already been discussed but I would just love PMDG to make an 777 EFB App. When I mean app, I would love to see if they really could go "hardcore" (as they do any ways B) ) on there app, if they made one. Things like real world EFB's such as performance pages for V-speeds, ext..... Thanking you all very much, Cheers, Ellis.M.
  2. has anyone installed in a network with 2pc, not even ytube has any videos of that config.....
  3. Greetings guys, I have been using the Electronic flight bag for a while. I used to save flight plans in .fpl format for my Aerosoft bus some time back. Then I did not use that option for a while I used to do manual. One of my friends recently bought the Bus and he's not familiar with the MCDU so today i tried making a flightplan and saving it WITH PROCEDURES, so i could send it to him. But I noticed WRITE PROCEDURES option is greyed out. Any idea why?
  4. Starline Airways opening its doors to the public Today the 28th of December a new era of virtual airline simulation is launched, after nearly half a year of development. The original idea of Starline is that flying for virtual airlines should not be complicated with software to install and configure, rules for how much a pilot needs to fly to avoid being removed et.c, but still highly realistic. Instead of ACARS-software all our flights is tracked live from VATSIM/IVAO, all the pilot has to do is to connect with the correct callsign for the booked flight. We encourage our pilots to fly whenever they have the time and desire for it, and a pilot will never be removed due to inactivity. With our professional custom made and user-friendly web page comes except a booking system, forum, advanced user statistic and downloadable aircraft liverys for PMDG737NGX, PMDG777 and Aerosoft Airbus X A321, also an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB). The Electronic Flight Bag includes: ¤ Flight breifing overview ¤ Flight progress indication ¤ Charts for all our destination ¤ Weather ¤ Notams ¤ Fuel calculations ¤ Digital checklists The EFB will automatically load the flight you're connected to on VATSIM or IVAO, and make recommendations for charts and runways in use. With our optional software StarRoute, the programming of the FMC will also be alot smoother as you can simply just load the flightplan into the FMC, without having to type each waypoint in yourself. StarRoute will automatically download co-routes for your booked flights and place them in the correct folder for each addon. The only thing except Flight Simulator or Prepar3D is an valid VATSIM or IVAO ID. Welcome to Starline. www.starlineairways.com
  5. We've been getting some support emails on how to save your Flight Log in Pilot Assist Pro. The solution is simple: Press the green "Cloud" button as shown below. That will save your Log files (which are saved in TXT, CSV and PDF) format to the APPS folder in your Dropbox folder.
  6. Hi, I have been following the PMDG forum for a couple of years now and this is my first post. I bought the 777 for FSX and loved it. I am planning to buy one for P3D in the near future. I have a few questions regarding the upcoming B747-8 v2. 1. While looking through some pictures of the B747-8 flight deck, I noticed that they have electronic flight bags. Will these be modeled (if only for the PMDG setup menus if not for the charts)? 2. I saw several liveries for the B747-8 on the PMDG website. Will these be included as well. Sorry if this has already been discussed. Thanks Michael Crichlow
  7. Hello, I had been using EFB on W8.1 without any problems. Yesterday I saw that W10 had gone RTM so I figured it was really stable now. I did some research about the behavior of P3D and addons on W10 and it seemed to be all good so I upgraded. My SSD had filled up so I decided to do a clean install of W10 (Reset this PC option on Windows). I reinstalled the addons that I had and they all work fine except EFB. When you first set up the Data Provider I ecnountered this: I figured it was nothing and continued with the setup of the Display Unit only to find this: This weird letter spacing again. I knew something was wrong but I hoped that it wouldn't interfere with the usability of the application. After I went through all the tabs and configuration this popped up: I already posted on the Aivlasoft forums but the dev told me he had no experience with Windows 10 so he didn't know what caused this and he told me to check that .NET 3.5 was enabled, which it was. I tried updating my .NET but every time it said that an equivalent or superior version was already installed. Another guy was kind enough to install the trial on his W10 machine and said it worked fine (with the same version of .NET as me). I hope someone here can shed some light on what is causing this because I'd really like to use this tool without going back to W8.1. Thank you. Jerry
  8. As it has been more than 8 months since I last flew the NGX and so have gone a bit rusty, and having just done a search for Exporting Flightplans to the NGX, and drawing a blank, can anyone kindly refresh me as to how I export a flightplan created in either EFB or FSX as when I did export a plan that I had created in EFB, and checked the Legs page in the CDU, none of the legs were displayed, just start airport, destination airport? Tyring to use that new tool that was created recently, FpnConv, I get an error with it and it fails to load the plan. Thanks.
  9. Hi all— if you're a weirdo like me and prefer to work with the command line, you may be interested in this suite of CLI tools I've made for flight sim planning, called Icarus. DL link: https://github.com/musurca/Icarus Using Icarus from the command line, you can: * quickly pull up information about runways, navaids, LOC/DME freqs, etc. * download all published charts for an airport * get a current METAR * get a correct magnetic heading and distance from one navaid to another * download and decode/expand airport remarks * find the shortest route between two points, given the maximum range of your aircraft * calculate wind aloft * etc. I started putting this together a few months ago for my own use, but as it expanded I decided to make it available for everyone. If you end up using it, let me know what you think! Comments / suggestions always welcome.
  10. I would like to choose an EFB application to help me with my VFR flights. I see there are Sky4Sim, Sim-EFB, FSKneeboard, etc. What are you guys using? What are the pros and cons?
  11. I understand that PMDG will not model the EFB in the 777 and 747-8. Instead of leaving the EFB place vacant in the 747-8, PMDG can at least use the EFB as a graphical load manager and fuel manager with diagrams that show seating chart, fuel load distribution etc.. This looks visually better than loading fuel and passengers thru FMC. I'm just comparing with what i've seen in X-plane aircraft like SSG 747-8. Also, in SSG 747-8, when you zoom in all the way on the ND, you can see the airport layout.. will this feature be available in PMDG 747-8 v2? Vinod Kumar.
  12. As we near the release of the PMDG 777X base pack I thought it would be useful to create a single forum topic where all the 777 features and info (such as EFB, taxi camera, ECL) that have been debated (and resolved by the development team) are put together to form a more or less concrete picture/idea of what we are going to get upon release. This should also help newcomers find out what to expect and prevent creating topics on subjects that have been discussed months ago. I'll start with what I know: *777-200LR basepack *ECL included *EFB will be added as a service pack later on *Full VC cockpit and modelling and other PMDG features *Accurate sound simulated *Full simulation of 777 performance and *All boeing options will be modelled (like the NGX) *Options accessilbe through the FMC (like the NGX) *Real-time refuelling availble like the MD11 (please correct if wrong) *777-300ER willl be the first addon *The next addon will the 200ER/F *Then we will have the 200/300 models (depending on market interest) If a topic like mine already exists, please delete
  13. Hello, Does anyone know if a good app like fore flight that I can use for moving maps that does not require a subscription? I am only using it with x-plane so I don't really feel like spending $75.00 a year for it. I have found a couple that aren't bad but they are only the map and I like how foreflight shows you airports, groundspeed, ETA, Altitude etc.. iOS, OSX, android platforms will work for me. I don't mind paying a flat one time fee, just trying to avoid having to pay a subscription. If I was a REAL pilot I wouldn't have a problem at all paying a subscription but I just won't be getting that much use out of it to make it worth it.
  14. For all you new posters out there who want to find some information about the PMDG 777X Base package! -It will not have an EFB -It will not have a 2D Cockpit- -It will not have a Weather radar ( WX Radar) -It will not have a taxi cam -It will have RAAS included. Hopefully this will clear a lot of stuff up, and answer the many questions that are asked daily on these forums. Note to the Moderators and PMDG Staff: This thread is not intended to be mean, or angry hate to those who post these repeating questions. It is merely a thread which explains the FAQs. If this was the wrong thing to do, please lock/Delete this thread and notify me! I apologize in advance if it was the wrong thing to do, I intended to be helpful is all.
  15. Hello all, This is just a short note to let everyone who had been visiting the AivlaSoft forum know that after the forum software went "belly up," Urs has migrated the forum database to a new home (and new-to-us software). The URL for the new AivlaSoft forum is: http://aivlasoft.ipbhost.com/ With regards,
