In checking out X-Plane 11's weather depiction, I cranked up the Aerosoft CRJ-200, set up a thunderstorm and then went for a quick circuit, so, no V-speeds set up or anything, didn't even check the weight, just a seat of the pants landing, into updrafts, downdrafts, turbulence, thunder, lightning, hailstones. Good fun, and a very bounced landing owing to having to come in steep and fast because of all the windsheer. Wouldn't wanna try this one in real life, think I'd be diverting lol: -
Hello everyone. Surprisingly Aerosoft and UK2000 release at about the same time Manchester Airport product. If I'm correct they are different developers and not related to each other. I know it is still early but has anyone tried 1 or 2 of these and have comments/recommendations? I'm really interested in this airport. Just by the pictures I like the way UK2000 looks more, but what I really want is the better performance one. Thank you, Hoang Le.

If you're an internet savvy flight-simmer, the video title gives a clue to what this video is about. The sun was shining, I had the day free, so I went and spent the day at the Airport Hotel on Ringway Road, Manchester(UK) with its viewing garden overlooking the end of runway 23. From a simming perspective I found it incredibly useful. Just from watching I picked up a few pointers that I hope will improve my abysmal taxiing, and I noticed a couple of interesting procedures that will change the way I sim (for example, pretty much every plane I saw performed a rolling take-off rather than pausing once lined up.) If you don't already, I highly recommend seeing if your local airport has a viewing site and spending a day plane watching. If you're in North-West England, parking at the Airport Hotel is £5 for 4 hours, of which £4 is redeemable at the bar for food & drinks. It works out a lot cheaper than the airport's official Aviation Park (£12 parking!) and since the prevailing weather means most take-offs are from 23, gives you a much better view of the planes. Hi I'm trying to program FMC pmdg 737 vor/dme egcc 23R approach. Attached picture shows the chart. What seems to be problematic is how to program it after MCT D12.3 turning heading 003. Any suggestion on how to program this kind of approach,....I will use VOR lock when doing turn to radial 228. My approach would be based on Baltic Aviation Academy simulation with an older 737: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RzCB6ZcTLA According to what they say during the simulation the last fmc point seems to be MCT D12.3....so after that there is maybe only RWY 23 R point?
