Hey guys, a really annoying problem occured on my last flights with Leonardo's Fly The Maddog 2008. Just after lift off several messages appear on the EOAP: L oil press lowL gen offL CSD oil press lowL hyd press low I'm not sure, but very probably the left engine shuts down, too. That may be a rookie mistake, but I currently have no idea what may have caused it, so I'd be very happy if somebody has any idea how to solve that...

With the the 777's (and every aircraft for that matter) MMEL publicly available, and the detail that's gone into system failures in the 777, I wonder if it would be possible to implement some sort of deferred defect and MEL items into the PMDG. We can fail them already, the difference is only that a MEL item just has it's warning system disabled. Seeing as so many failures are already implemented, I wonder how feasible it would be to chose to disable a system or component without having the warning messages pop up continuously, simulating an MEL issue for flying? Conceptually, it seems easy, (disconnect the sirens/warnings on the EICAS) and it would add a level or realism to the day-to-day operations. Despite not having the INOP stickers to place everywhere in the cockpit, I think it would still make for a fun addition! Anyone else want to pitch in on this idea?

I have had this happen twice, both at KSAN. I set up the airplane and flight just like all the others but after I press TO/GA I get a warning "Vertical Stabilizer Configuration". I have checked to see if any failures are active - there are none. All hydraulics systems are also functioning normally. I tried ignoring the failure and continued the takeoff - once the airplane is in the air the warning goes away. Any ideas? Kyle??

I am using the latest x737 version and when I set up the autopilot computer to fail based on IAS or time, the autopilot never seems to fail. The plane happily flies on. I am using the x737FMC add on. If i try something like an engine fire, the failure occurs as expected. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks Alan Taylor

I think some people might find this informative, it confuses me but makes me want the AOA Training ASAP! These are not my videos he goes by the username "skysurfer007" on YouTube. I'm sure he's on these forums as well. Also he's a RL -800 pilot. And he may have a few suggestions/wishlist for the FMC/FMS that are not modeled in the PMDG NGX that maybe we can get updated in the future. Part 1 Part 2

I have a question: How should I navigate if both of the IRS (L and R) fail? Because when I switch them off inflight my ND goes blank and all that I have left is the old-school magnetic compass. I understand that autoland doesnt work because of the loss of IRS data mut it should not affect the GPS? Shouldn't the GPS of the aircraft be sufficient to provide waypoints, distances etc to the ND? Of course the atc can give me vectors etc but I dont believe its realistic that all the aids for navigation are lost if both IRS fail? Only procedure I can find in the QRH is the one that tells me to put the IRS to att to get attitude information and I get that but what shoud I do to know where I am and where I am going?? Could someone with more knowledge about IRS/GPS systems of the 737-/800/900 explain this to me? Thanks in advance!

Encountered installation problem with recent/latest 777 update. Previos update of 777-200/LR plus 300 expansion was 7/18/17 with version 1.10,0395 without any problems. This time I uninstalled the 300 expansion as using the Win 7 Control Panel to uninstall without any problem. I then forgot to uninstall the 777-200 Base Package prior to using the new/updated Base installer. Upon running the new installer with the "repair" button preselected the installation appeared normal until the progress bar reached about the 90% complete point. The installation failed at that point and generated a pop-up window stating "Feature Transfer Error". The box listed "Feature: FSX Version Original Microsoft Distribution" and "Error: The parameter is incorrect." I then unsuccessfully tried to uninstall the 777-200 Base Package using the "remove" option on the new installer and get the same failure to complete the process and an error message; also Windows outputs a WER as shpwn below: Faulting application name: setup.exe_PMDG 777-200LR/F Base Package FSX, version: 1.10.8414.0, time stamp: 0x589ea215 Faulting module name: ISSetup.dll, version: 23.0.0.428, time stamp: 0x589ea13c Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0000a70c Faulting process id: 0xc38 Faulting application start time: 0x01d3085697e3a011 Faulting application path: C:\Users\TODDRA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\{435ED4C2-D001-4474-B1D5-86427021CE96}\setup.exe Faulting module path: C:\Users\TODDRA~1\AppData\Local\Temp\{435ED4C2-D001-4474-B1D5-86427021CE96}\ISSetup.dll Report Id: 4ea70ea4-744a-11e7-a244-002421b43a31 Any help will be very much appreciated, I will stand down and try and not make this mess any worse than it is. Hello, I am much pleased to announce the release of the Damage Mod for Flight1’s BN-2 Islander. This addon brings a wear and failure engine to the Islander “à la Accusim”, based on the flight manual of the real airplane and the DM concept created by Ismail Hakki Güzel. The following systems will wear out and will be inflicted damage in case of improper use : - engines - generators - propellers - flaps - flaps motor - flight controls - autopilot - vacuum - pitot tubes - brakes - structural deicing (the corresponding switch is added to the virtual cockpit) - landing lights Extra features : - avionics dying if on when engine starts - blown tires in case of hard landing - foul spark plug if engine runs at low rpm and rich mixture for too long, (rpm drop during mag dead-cut test simulated) - engine dies in case of quick throttle movement with fuel pump off - sluggish engine response to throttle input with cold engines - door lock and alarm Please have a look at the instructions included in the package for more details. Happy flights, and don’t forget to pay attention to the instruments! PS: a typo slipped through the v1.0 installation instructions. It reads: [WindowXX] Size_mm=350,665 Position=0 Visible=0 Ident24479 Gauge00=BN2_PanelDM!BN2_PanelDM,1,1,350,665 Should be: Gauge00=BN2_DMPanel!BN2_DMPanel,1,1,350,665 Approval pending for the version v1.1 (with fixed instructions). So please stay tuned! Download link: https://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=Kekelekou&CatID=root&Go=Search

Hi everybody, I just try the service based failures system (multiplier 10x), and I first experience the FWD CARGO FIRE LOOP B, that I service after landing the aircraft. Then I had the AFT CARGO FIRE LOOP A, that I service after landing as well. And now, I have the ENG 2 FIRE LOOP B FAULT. Actually, I'd like to know if I'm doing things properly. Each time I have the CARGO FIRE messages, I arm the corresponding button on the overhead, then I press for 1 second the DISCH button just under (as indicated in the corresponding fire protection checklist. Then I had several failures that appears (Cargo Dump bottle squib, etc...). I service all these failures, then I refill the fire bottle, and I start a new flight. Do I do thing the right way ? And how do I have to handle the ENG 2 FIRE LOOP B FAULT failure ? What does these failures means ? I don't really understand what '"LOOP" means... (sorry I'm french). Thanks in advance.

FSX-MS RAZBAM METROLINER Engine failure on Takeoff
jackieman271 posted a topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hello all, I recently purchased the Razbam Metroliner, and I am currently experiencing an issue with the engines on takeoff. When I advance to full throtle, the engines produce power for about 5 seconds and then quit. I looked in the FSX failure options page, and it both checkboxes for "Complete engine failure" were selected. When I deselect this option and start the engines again, the same thing happens. I have read the documentation and numorus tutorial videos; but to no avail. Happy New Year ~John M- 7 replies
