  2. Hello, I've been battling a fatal error in FSX caused by a panels.dll module failure. I have googled and tried many things before resorting to posting a new topic but I'm stumped and could really use some help. The CTD seems to only happen with the A2A C172 but here are the details from my event view. Any help would be great, Thanks! 3. Only FSX owners know how horrible it is when the fatal error window pops up... Even if the sum is not even running! When I install SP2 I can start it exactly 2 times and then I get a fatal error message on the start of FSX. I tried to download and paste the. Dll file, delete the. Cfg, the logbook.bin,... Any other solutions? Thanks guys
  4. I've had fsx with SP1 SP2 and acceleration running on my HP Envy with windows 8 fine for the past few months. There was some crashing at the start but it stopped after I did the UIAutomationcore.dll fix. Since then it was all fine, but then 2 days ago my PC did an annoying automatic update for windows 8. When i tried starting fsx, the start screen came up for about 3 mins then a fatal error message appeared. I've tried over and over again to fix it. I uninstalled addons i added right before this, updated my drivers, repaired acceleration, changed the folder permissions, and repeated the UIAutomationcore.dll fix in case it reset. NONE OF THEM WORKED. Many forums recommended a complete reinstall, but i have a huge amount of addons that i do not feel like reinstalling, too (plus many of them are hard to find again). On top of that, some people said reinstalling doesnt work, so i dont want to spend all that time just to find out fsx still crashes. I REPEAT: A REINSTALL IS THE LAST RESORT. To find out what was causing it i ran it with appcrashview, but i cant make sense of it (im not familiar with programming). Heres what i got: _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Version=1 EventType=BEX EventTime=130441324786139834 ReportType=2 Consent=1 UploadTime=130441324786764853 ReportIdentifier=d992ec3b-d7a4-11e3-bece-00c2c60072af IntegratorReportIdentifier=d992ec3a-d7a4-11e3-bece-00c2c60072af WOW64=1 Response.BucketId=22babecc860e0aba0a8becb8ad234190 Response.BucketTable=5 Response.LegacyBucketId=981331481 Response.type=4 Sig[0].Name=Application Name Sig[0].Value=fsx.exe Sig[1].Name=Application Version Sig[1].Value=10.0.61637.0 Sig[2].Name=Application Timestamp Sig[2].Value=46fadb14 Sig[3].Name=Fault Module Name Sig[3].Value=unknown Sig[4].Name=Fault Module Version Sig[4].Value=0.0.0.0 Sig[5].Name=Fault Module Timestamp Sig[5].Value=00000000 Sig[6].Name=Exception Offset Sig[6].Value=00650074 Sig[7].Name=Exception Code Sig[7].Value=c0000005 Sig[8].Name=Exception Data Sig[8].Value=00000008 DynamicSig[1].Name=OS Version DynamicSig[1].Value=6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.101 DynamicSig[2].Name=Locale ID DynamicSig[2].Value=1033 UI[2]=C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe UI[3]=A fatal error occurred. 5. any ideas how to fix Fatal error on startup in p3d 2.4?
  6. Hey Flight simmers. Seeing as I've almost solved my OOM issue with the PMDG 737NGX this thought came to mind. I bought FsPassengersX a while ago and I tried to use it with the PMDG. After about a couple seconds: Fatal error. I followed the guide shown at http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/read.php?f=2&i=30169&t=30169 but I couldn't get ahold of Brian York so the guide was only partly helpful. I need ways on how to get FsPassengersX working with the PMDG and preferably with the Mini Display active. Thanks, and have fun simming!
  7. Hi, I was following tutorial 1 for the PMDG 737-800 NGX allong nicely, and have parked the aircraft at a gate at EHAM. I just started going through the list for the secure procedure, and switched the APU off. Although there was no warning of this in the tutorial PDF, an alarm started sounding. No red or yellow lights appeared (next to the red fire button on the annunciator panel) and I couldn't switch the alarm off that way. Suddenly FSX gave a "Fatal error" prompt and exited the sim without anything that I could do. Is the alarm related to switching off the APU? I didn't have any indications or annunciations on the panel, nor was the alarm like a fire alarm. It was a different kind of sound. And could these steps have led to FSX giving me a fatal error? Anyone else have had this kind of behavior in the past? Thx for your replies.
  8. Good day everyone, I am having a consistent fatal error with FSX, right after selecting PMDG MD-11 in the plane selection menu. The game is freezing as the plane attempts/begins to load the AIRAC database files. It never progresses farther than "0" in loading the AIRAC files. I have checked over my dll.xml file which seems to be fine. I am running Windows 7 Enterprise, on a Macbook Pro via Bootcamp. i7 CPU, 8 Gbs ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M Windows Event Viewer shows 3 errors. Furthermore, I do not have any problems flying with any other planes, default and addon freeware, pre-PMDG installation, or post-PMDG installation. Any thoughts? Cheers!
  9. Hello everyone, Just to put you into context, here's my situation: I have been flight simming for a very long time using X-Plane. Near the end of 2009 though, I discovered some aircraft sytems were better modeled in FS9 for certain addon aircraft and decided to try it. Since then, I have been flying FS9 on VATSIM and I really love the experience. As you can see on my Vataware page though (http://vataware.com/pilot.cfm?cid=1008468) I have not flown for a very long time. I basically ran out of time, and when I came back to FS9 about a year ago, my PC's performance discouraged me. (Back then, I was running an Intel P4 2.8 GHz with an nVidia GeForce 7600 GS, and Windows XP 32 bit. It wasn't that bad, but I didn't feel like spending hours tuning again. Recently though, I upgraded my computer. Surely it's not the best out there, but I built it myself and it's really the best I could afford for now. At least I still have a lot of headroom for future upgrades, I am no longer limited by my old AGP slot and/or my unique motherboard socket type. My specs are on my profile. I was about to install FS9 when I thought I might try FSX. Why not? My PC could maybe handle it quite well. Turns out it does! Yes, I did do my research. I read the most popular guides online, did everything I was supposed to do and I am very impressed with the results! FSX runs really great, super smooth and never lags. I have not installed any addons or anything extra yet, just the basic FSX install with SP1 and SP2. I have the Deluxe version, not Acceleration. Here's my problem - even though I've only played with it for about 1 or 2 hours, just flying around the default area in the default aircraft, I have been getting random Windows 7 fatal errors. I am running Windows 7 64 bit now. I did do a bit of research, but most threads seem to be telling people to remove X addon and try again - which is why I am starting my own thread, I have no addons! There seems to be a lot of debate about this strange uiautomationcore.dll thing. I have not tried anything yet because there are 2 options I find on the web and I don't know what to do. Deactivate the file in system32 (by renaming it)?? Download the Vista 32 bit version and place it in my FSX directory? Basically, I'm just asking to find out if I missed anything major. It's a one month old build, with fresh OS and clean FSX install. Any tips? Maybe this will help others getting random CTD after a clean system install. Thank you very much for your time, I look forward to starting my long haul airline flights and sharing my screen shots again! Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my FSX performance, but just wandering what my last tune-ups should be for the best Windows 7 64 bit crashless experience possible. Regards, Phil H

  15. So after upgrading to Windows 8 and after refreshing windows 8, I have been slowly re installing FSX and it's addons. However with MCE I have run into a few issues. My first problem was with disabling UAC, despite disabling it and restarting MCE installer still said to disable UAC. I solved this by running the installer in Windows XP compatibility. This issue cropped up again during first launch of MCE, fixed same way. My second issue was I had to download the US english pack, 155mb at a paint drying 25kb/s later it was installed. No other problems. However when I try and launch FSX after installing, FSX gives a fatal error and stops working. Deleting the FSinsider.dll or uninstalling MCE solves this problem. The details from the fatal error message: It occurs about 20s after FSX starts loading, just after you hear the MCE intro noises. thanks in advance. This on win8 pro x64. Both FSX and MCE exe are set to run in winxp compatibility. I have changed them into both vista and 7 modes but no dice. Cameron
  16. Hi all, Long-time lurker, second-time poster. For the past year or so, I've been having regular CTDs of my FSX-SE install, usually fatal errors, and most often citing NTDLL.DLL as the faulty module (others, though not as frequent, have included terrain.dll, g3d.dll, etc.). I've been able to resolve them on specific recurring flights (e.g., where the crash would happen at a certain point on the same flight and the same aircraft) through various means, including (but not limited to): Switching from FSX to FSX-SE; Deleting my fsx.cfg, rewriting it and then changing certain key settings (e.g., display, wideview, and others) back to where they were, but leaving everything else the same; and Reverting to the 2012 schedule in MyTraffic X (MTX) 5.4c (after reading that this could be an issue in the AVSIM CTD guide). Each of these has fixed the problem temporarily before it rears its ugly head again. Most recently, I did the MTX fix above after continually getting crashes in the same place on a KDCA-KORD flight using a freeware 737-700. But when I wanted to do a KDCA-KMVY flight on the JF XP 800A this weeked, the sim consistently crashes at about the same point (right after I reach cruising altitude, and just about to cross the MD-DE border). I tried deleting and rewriting the fsx.cfg this morning, but even that didn't fix it (I've been able to replicate this crash four times, both before and after the attempted cfg fix). My specs are below: Intel Core i7-4790 3.6 Ghz 16G RAM NVidia Geforce GTX 970 (344.16 drivers) WIN 7 64 Bit SP1 FSX-SE is installed on a 100 GB SSD, but with all addons is taking up almost the entire disk. The install includes: REX Essential Plus Overdrive FTX Global + Vectors MyTrafficX 5.4c (running Autumn 2012 schedule; see above) Various payware and freeware aircraft and sceneries. I've had a look at the CTD Guide and searched these forums, but none of the fixes I've tried seem to work. It looks like my returns and possible fixes are dwindling, so here I am... anyone have any pointers on what's going on and how I can resolve this? I really just want to enjoy my sim and don't have hours upon end to explore these issues. Here's the most recent crashlog: Many thanks in advance to the much more experienced and smarter FSX wizards here who might be able to take a look and advise! A lot of drinks are on me if you are able to get my sim running... J.
  17. I didn't know which forum was appropriate since this is a CTD and a Multiplayer VATSIM issue. I will let the Moderators decide. Here's the problem. I am now ready to fly on VatSIM. So I installed FSINN and FSCOPILOT per the instructions on how to get up and running successfully on a Windows 7 system. There are two problems now. 1) If I try to load any flightplan, and it asks if I want the plane to be moved to the new location... if I click YES I get an instant Fatal Error CTD. I uninstalled FSINN and FSCOPILOT immediately to see if that had caused this new CTD behavior. Yep. It did. When I uninstalled FSINN I could load flightplans normally and move the aircraft to the airport and gate it needs to be at without CTD. Reinstall. CTDs return. 2) I cannot START the simulation inside a PMDG 737 aircraft. Or rather, I can not start FSINN while inside a PMDG 737 aircraft. FSX stops responding and I have to kill it through the Task Manager. If I load in any default FSX aircraft FSINN works fine. Now I believe there is a posted issue about starting in the PMDG with FSINN and how you aren't suppose to and that you should start the sim with a default craft and THEN reload with the PMDG? I think it has something to do with FSINN trying to index all the AI aircraft available. The crashing while loading flightplans though is a killer for me. You can just move the airport to the airport without loading a flight plan with no problems. But you try to load up a flight plan you created using any external program and it bombs out. It wouldn't be a big deal if I wanted to fly VatSIM exclusively I suppose. But I like to fly in a really busy world with ATC running and VatSIM cannot always provide that so I will want to fly offline.. but now can't. Any clues? This is like my 3rd attempt to get up and running on VatSIM. Going to hang up the towel if I can't fly with flightplans and PMDG loaded.

  19. Hi everyone, I got voxatc about few weeks, but I frequently got " fatal error" during the beginning of the flight (haven't taken-off"). I want to add more voices so I installed some voice. I didn't get this error before installing any new voice (ie only the default voice Anna...). First I install the voices from Neospeech. Then I started to get this error message. After that somehow I knew that Neospeech may lead to error with voxatc in fsx so I uninstall it. Then I found that voxatc have voice packs (voxpop) to download so I downloaded and installed it. However, "fatal error" still happens on every flight. Then I uninstalled it. I then tried AT&T VOICES, also cannot get rid of this error. I have already run the indexer many times, but the problem is still there. I almost get this error on EVERY FLIGHT!! It is so annoying to me and I get very frustrated about it.... Is it normal????? I dun think it is...... anyone help plz?? I will also use FDC cockpit, FS Global Real Weather, FS captain, pmsound, fspassenger during the flight I know that voxatc will control AI traffic, I also installed Mytraffic 2010, is it lead to the error???? Please help me... I like voxatc very much, and the interaction, but just the dame fatal error!!!!........thanks! My voxatc version is 6.20
  20. I just did a clean install of FSX and patched it up to SP2, no Acceleration and now every time I exit a flight for the main menu, the menu appears all the way on the far right monitor in the lower corner, the graphics are messed up and the menu options missing. When I mouse over the place where the menu items are the reappear. When I can finally hit ESC to get out of the menu it crashes FSX with a Fatal Error and then restarts FSX. The menu is restored to the center monitor as if nothing happened. The Event Viewer is showing the the FSUI.DLL file is causing the Fatal Error. It ONLY happens if I get into the 737 NGX and then leave back to the main FSX menu. All other planes perform as normal. I don't understand what went wrong. Why is it doing this? Is there a fix? UIautomation.DLL does not fix this issue.
  21. Hello, Well, this is nothing new really, but today I'm elated because for me at least, I've finally gotten fsx and a lot of orbx scenery stuff working beautifully....smooth 30-70 fps without jitters or tearing or anything weird over SeaTac with autogen on dense. It's been a long, tedious waste of time trying to get things to work on my system. i7 3.5 ghz, gtx 560ti windows 7. one SSD drive for Windows, one SSD drive for FSX....near instant texture loading and menu loading. Nice to have but $$$$ and limited storage. The issues I've had are numerous crashes to desk-top, fatal error messages, bizarre graphics meltdowns (black skies, smearing weirdness etc, blurries, stuttering, you name it. This stuff doesn't happen all the time, but definitely once in every flying session. Fatal error 2-3 times per session : ( I've tried everything under the sun and have reinstalled fsx and all the add ons four times (my wife is ready to leave me). For me at least I've 'learned' what works on my system and I can repeat it now every time on my computer to ensure great results. I just thought I'd share what I've done that's worked so well. I realize that all systems are different yaddayadda yadda. Some of this might work for you, some of it might not. Posts like this sure helped me sort things out, so I thought I'd give back. So here's my story: -I've tried many tweaks to the config, usually with the Bohote fsx tweaker tool. Bufferpools, max texture load, reject threshold, etc. etc. etc. After hours of trial and error using a saved flight for consistency, I only found the tweaks to cause instability and noticed little to no difference to frame rates or visual performance. I've concluded that for better or worse, the stock config is the most stable. I run the sim at stock config except for the swarmcloud fix which solved flashing clouds for me and the ForceFullScreenVsync=1 which solved the screen tearing. I run my card on default settings with vsync enabled. Nothing else is different. (I've experimented with external AA, vsync settings, external frame limiter, and have noticed no differences to the sim in performance or quality..only instability and unpredictable performance. I'm running fsx acceleration btw. -I also run all the Orbx North America sceneries. I LOVE these addons but have found them to cause a lot of instability to FSX on my machine (crashing, errors, artifacts etc.). I run REX, but have never had any issues with it anywhere and the fsx default scenery flies like a dream and has never crashed or erred. So for me, Orbx FTX was the issue. Now here's the game changer: What really solved MY problems was the UIAutomationCore-1.dll vista file 'fix'. I downloaded this Vista file and simply dropped it into the FSX main folder. I can now fly FSX problem free. I can switch menus over and over, change settings, start and stop, fly in complex areas in addon aircraft and never have a crash or error. If you're having issues on a Widows 7 setup and haven't tried this, I highly recommend it. http://www.mediafire.../?mik2mlqdz1w It might not work...hope it does because for me it was like Christmas. It could be wishful thinking, but I'm pretty sure I've gained 10 frames per second from this as well. I'm no computer expert though so don't know if that's even possible. As for settings: Filtering-Bilinear AA-On All boat traffic 100% Cars 25% Water low 2.0 Private traffic 100% Airline traffic-off Autogen Dense / Auto gen complexity maximum Mesh Complexity 50% Mesh Resolution 100% Detail radius 100% Texture res 100% No ground shadows, NO BLOOM!!, no aircraft shadows, cloud distance 80K, Also, I tried using the Grand theft auto ENBseries mod, but only found it to cause issues for me and maybe even instability. I don't know though, people seem to use it and works for them. Thoughts on Frame limiter: If you have a fast machine and you're getting a wide range of fps in a single flight it can cause stutters (as you know). I found that by simply setting the fsx frame limiter to 100, it stops the stutters, but still allows high fps. It's as if by simply having it on, it irons out the issues for a fast machine. So in busy areas, things drop to 20-40 fps, but can fly up to 70 fps without jitters as well in simple areas. By setting to 100, I never fiddle with the slider anymore no matter where I'm flying. Definitely advice for fast systems only though I suspect. This nice little program will allow you to slow down the AI vehicles from 1000 mph to something more realistic like 25 mph. Looks great in towns. http://www.wolfgang-...ng-picheta.de Also fixes lots of little details. For me, the brakes release/hold control would never repeat. I'd set the slider to max repeat but it would revert. I tried many joystick assignments for it but the problem persisted. I discovered that by setting it to medium, it now behaves like a true car brake and never reverts in the assignments. On an aesthetic note, I love the Water configurator from http://www.strikings...om/fswc.shtml combined with REX, the water can look beautifully real ('black' lakes, rich dark oceans etc.) Well, that's all....sorry for the novel. I just wish that I would have found this post 3 months ago, so I'm just writing it to put it all down in one place. Maybe it can help someone out there with similar issues/setup to me. I realize that it's all nothing new. It just hard to find it all in one place! Hope some of it makes your fsx experience a little more friendly.
  22. I asked this a week or two ago, but just discovered today that by some weird error I had posted it in the unofficial Captain Sim support forum... no clue how...I know there are already threads on this, but the one's I've read haven't helped. The problem is, of course, that the Airbus X from Aerosoft keeps causing a fatal error to occur. It happens at different times: sometimes when I change the weather, sometimes when I change the time or location, or once after I successfully loaded the flight and exited. And yes, I'm running FSX as administrator.Thanks,boeing247
  23. Hi, I just recently installed PMDG 737NGX on my brand new machine that I just builded for FSX, and I am experiencing a hugh drop (50%) in FPS when flying with 737 NGX. If I fly with the default 737 or any other, I have no problem with performance. I get somewhere around 12 FPS and I usally get 25 - 30 FPS. I just hope that 12 FPS is not normal because I understand that this aircraft uses a lot of CPU resourses due to overall detail of aircraft and systems on board. In addition, I experience other issues like CTD "fatal error message" when I end the flight - this happens 50% of the time. Also, If I go to map during the flight and whant to come back to the game, my screen gets all messed up, or if I have to go to desktop: same thing. I appreciate any help on this. Thanks. 24. Hi everybody! I couldn't find any solution for this issue on the internet so in my desperation I ask some help with this. I have run a lot of tests to figure out what causes the exact problem of my FSX fatal error at gate arrivals of each flight. I experienced that the problem always caused by FSPassengers, but only under DX10. I use Steve's DX10 fixer and scenery addons, but when I make flights in DX9 mode there isn't any crashes. I don't understand the connection between FSP and DX10... It causes ntdll.dll error, the event viewer's message is the following: fsx.exe 10.0.61472.0 475e17d3 ntdll.dll 6.1.7601.18247 521ea8e7 c0000005 0003a74b a94 01cf2be187df1ee4 C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll fcd681cc-97eb-11e3-8a26-d43d7e9128f2 System error codes is not my cup of tea so I write my system specs, maybe it helps: MSI Z77 MPower I7 3770K at default clock MSI GTX680 Lightning Avexir 16 GB DDR3 1600MHz Windows 7 x64 I would be glad if someone could give suggestion or solution for my problem. Thanks in advance.
  25. Every time I start up FSX and select the 777, it loads it into the little window on the bottom to view it from different angles. When I press 'Start Flight', it starts the load bar, but the black screen behind the bar does not appear, and when it finishes loading all it shows is my desktop, just like on the attachment (but I can hear the sound). It either does this or crashes, please help me I really want to fly my new plane but this keeps happening As you can see in the picture, the bar is loading but there is no black screen behind it, it just shows my background. And when it's loaded it keeps showing the background but plays the sound...
