Just flew my first pattern around LGSR - Santorini with the PMDG 737NGX. The past days I was doing a little VFR island hopping tour where I was "flying myself" from Athens to Rhodes to do my simulated NGX acceptance flights there, but the release caught me in Santorini so LGSR got the honours :( So, first impression: The gentleman who did the AoO vids is absolutely right! This plane behaves superbly when hand-flown! There has been a lot of hype and discussion about the accuracy of systems simulation and the work PMDG has put in that respect and they do look fantastic (not that I am qualified to judge, but nm :() as do the VC visuals and the FPS-measured performance I'm seeing, but I'm especially glad that they have done such a great job making the plane "feel" good, when flown manually. In my first flight I found the plane to be very responsive to control input and also very tame. No overreactions to minute control input, nor the need for any ham-fisted flying to get it to change attitude. Keeping the plane within specified airspeed, heading and altitude parameters felt unforced and natural. So a very happy customer so far and off I go for some more practice flying and manual reading :)
