I usually do initial flight-planning in SimBrief, then import it into Navigraph to verify STARs, approach transitions, etc. I then import the FP saved thru Navigraph into the MSFS flight Planner after starting the sim. Once in the aircraft, no matter which nav system was being used (g1000, g3000, other, etc.) the approach and transitions I selected in Navigraph were in the FP exactly as I had chosen. Now, that's usually not the case. It appears since SU9 that the flight planner continually ignores the original Navigraph approach transition and inserts its own? Now, this hasn't caused any big issues, but its rather frustrating to have to reset the approach transitions for every flight! It happened again today. I chose the transition and IAF that would work best for the flight plan, only to have the flight planner over-ride it and choose an inappropriate transition. I edited the approach in the nav system and changed the transition back to the appropriate one. Isn't Navigraph supposed to over-ride the flight planner, not the opposite? -
Noticed this is freeware in the AVSIM library. Bought it 5 years ago on SimMarket (where I posted a review) and have had a few conversations with the developer. This is a great program to run on a networked computer with WIDE FS. Google Earth can be presented at any altitude you want and the Google Earth view angle can be changed. It's a lot of fund to watch your aircraft symbol fly over actual terrain, especially mountains. Sometimes I don't run it because I start looking at it more than the terrain in the flight sim. Works with FSX, Steam and all versions of P3. Thanks much to the developer Lennart Vedin.

I've just switched to P3DV4 and I'm trying to set up some scenarios. In P3DV3 the default groundspeed for a flight planned AI track was 250 knots. In P3DV4 it is now 1085 so any AI target runs away at a great rate of knots! Selecting the "NavLog" box on the flight planner screen shows the flight plan parameters and there is a value for estimated GS and a blank box for actual GS. The figure for estimated GS seems fixed and can't be amended. Is there a way to do this within P3D? The Learning Centre says: "GS (Kts): Each row in the GS (or ground speed) column is split into two cells: The top cell indicates the estimated ground speed, which is based on the speed of the aircraft selected when the flight plan was created; the bottom cell indicates the actual ground speed, which is calculated and updated during the flight." I can see no way to set the speed of the aircraft when creating the flight plan. Oliver from Lorby SI has suggested setting up new waypoint lists but struggling to achieve that so far.

I'm running the PMDG 737NGX with P3D V4, Active Sky, and Navigraph Data. Just wondering what is the best way to create flight plan routes and load the route into the FMC? I know there are several software programs out there that do this, just wondering what others are using and what would work best with the PMDG FMC. Thanks John Swanson
