  1. A quick jaunt in the Boeing B17F Flying Fortress which is notable for being the first US heavy bomber to complete 25 missions over Europe during WW2 - Hell's Angels of the 303rd BG... Taxying out and taking off from Woodford: Flying over my house: Off for a jaunt over Derbyshire:
  2. Hey Everybody, Just a few more quick shots that i found from a Wednesday night flight that i done to test a few things out in P3D, I think i departed out of Shoreham,EGKA if my memory serves me well ha-ha. These shots have been completely over edited but to a degree i quite liked the outcome of them. Still getting to grips with a few toys in Photoshop. Anyways i hope you like them and i will start uploading some new fresh material in the very near future. Good Evening to all and have a good one! Happy Flying!
  3. Good morning, who is ready for this years 2013 FSX Thunderbird Flight Demonstration Squadron! I am Michael Evans, Left Wing for the FSX Thunderbirds. We are a new flight demonstration team and are looking to get our name out there. We were created about a month ago. We all share a passion for formation flying. We aim to emulate the realism, pride, and precision of the United States Air Force Demonstration Squadron. There have been a couple of Thunderbird Teams in the past, but we hope to stay around here for a while. We currently only have 4 pilots and are hoping to expand and gain that fan base that we are looking for. Our website is completed, but our forums are still getting all of that necessary Thunderbird information to keep this team as realistic as we can get. Any hints and tips are appreciated, and I hope we get good enough to participate in a few shows coming this next season. Now that ground month is over, we can get up in the air and give you all that performance that you can only get from this years FSX Thunderbirds. 4. This is awesome, but the scary feeling I get is wondering about the lack of visibility caused by the clouds. Is there such a thing as IFR for people in wingsuits, filing a flightplan, personal transponders, etc.? 🤣😱😆😧🤔💀
  5. i cant seem to get a screen shot in fs9 when hitting the prt scr/sysrq button on windows 7 :/ i cant find it when i search onprogram or files search:/ is there another way to look or is there an way / program to just screen shot and save pics? found and saved can delete or keep in faq if you wish just use fraps... :)
  6. So after about 16 months out of the hanger I have decided to get back into the cockpit and do some flying. I am still in awe that this website is still going strong as I have not really followed it much since then. I look forward to learning and maybe relearning what I forgot about flying. Driving a truck for a living is a real time taker and as such the time away from flying. Now that I have offically retired and can spend more time I will be doing more flying.
  7. Hey, so there's been a shared cockpit client released for the NGX. I was hoping i could get a flying partner(s)! anyone who wants to fly with me just hit me up! heres the client page: http://www.desk-pilot.com/
  8. Hey, here are some more shots from a Cathay flight I did a couple days ago. Sorry they are not in order of the flight phases! Hope you enjoy!
  9. Hey everyone, I know this is not totally relevent to PMDG, but this seems like the most active forum around here. Anyway, I am looking for an app for charts, proceedures, kneeboard and calculations when flying with FSX. I also hope to use this in the RW when I start my training. I have been flying the 737NG for a while and always want to be able to have a kneeboard type device to use to see the charts and proceedures accociated with that plane wihtout having to keep switching between windows. I can see in the appstore there are hundreds of apps that have what I am looking for, but they all do the same thing and are different costs. There arent many reviews either. I have an AOPA account and was looking at the FlyQ apps, but I dont have 70.00-170.00 to spend on a subscription. I was also looking at FSkneeboard which looks good, but it too is expensive and does the same thing as the other apps do and the others are much less money. I guess my real question is, what apps do you all have, and what do you like and recommend for me to get. I also have a navigraph account and was thinking about using there charts, but i dont think they have anything for the iPad and they only have 1749 airports throughout the world and not many in the US so.....] Thanks in Advance!
  10. This is pretty cool, bet he's already in the mile high club though! https://www.facebook...94430507&type=1
  11. Hey guys! Could you guys watch my movie that I made for school and tell me if it's good and give me some critism on it? Thanks! This will be my final project so I need it to be phenomenal! :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FIrRACZ2QY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
  12. I constantly see post from simmers who rave about the night environment in X-Plane. I mostly agree with them as takeoff and landing in the cover of darkness is a true pleasure in the sim. I can't compare the experience to FSX or P3D because I don't remember doing much flying at night with them, I mostly avoided it. However, with XP I often will bid on flights that take me into the night. So, I guess that's a testament to the sims features. But.... While takeoff and landing are great , cruise in darkness in X-Plane is kinda wacky! First, the issue with "moonshine" in beta is bothersome enough (I'm thinking they will fix that). The more irksome issue is the numerous airports in sight that shine bright regardless of distance, cloud cover and surrounding area. It's almost like the runway lights are the only lights you see for miles in every direction! I know some of us need that security if a nearby airport "just in case" but, this is and looks crazy! I'm surprised by this because the team at LR have done a fantastic job with the rest of the sim My questions are; Is there a way to turn down distant runway lights in the settings? Or, is there a mod/plug-in that addresses the concern? Finally, I haven't seen other comments on this issue so, is it just me?
  13. 14. Hey all fellow pilots, I am looking for an app for my iPad to be used for Charts, calculations, weather, basically as a kneeboard for myself to use in FSX and possibly RW. I see tons of apps in the app store, and all of them advertise the same things. Which ones are the best, and what do you suggest for me? I will be most likely starting my RW flight training in the next year, and if possible would like to use whatever app I get now, for that. I do have an AOPA account and was looking at the FlyQ apps, but I do not have 170.00 to spend for a 12-month membership. Thanks in advance!
  15. As per the title, here's the first of a little series of videos I decided to make explaining how to fly an aeroplane. I doubt any regulars here on Avsim will need to watch this first one, but it might be of use to people new to flying simulated aeroplanes (or real ones) who sometimes come to Avsim for help. Anyway, hope you like it:
  16. The continuing adventures of 'Bouncing Brenda' on her third mission deep into Germany, when she encounters vicious flak over Lubeck which takes out a B17 in the low squadron with a direct hit to the starboard wing. We count seven 'chutes appearing from her before she disappears into the low clouds. Soon after, twelve bf109Gs come in for an evil head on pass with devastating results, but it doesn't end well for one of them as it collides with another Fortress in the low squadron as the rest of the formation's gunners blaze away, scoring several hits on the remaining bandits, before they can swing around for another pass... As much as I love the B17, and indeed the 109, I certainly don't envy the real guys who flew those things, it must have been horrific to see friends go in a matter of seconds. Some pics... Flak over Lubeck takes out a 17, whilst most others in the formation also take damage, but we see at least seven chutes blossom out from her as she goes down. Our crew understandably forget intercom discipline and yell encouragement for their friends to bail out: The remote Bendix chin turret, operated by the bombardier, blazes away at the 109s: External view of those fighters coming in from 1 o'clock low at a closing speed of probably more than 500 mph. You can see that we've already taken some flak hits prior to their attack, and we've still got a long way to go to reach the target: The inevitable result of four 109s in close formation coming through the tight formation of the Fortresses, as one collides with another unlucky 17. No 'chutes from this one as she comes apart, narrowly missing another Fortress alongside, but there's no time to dwell on losses, those fighters will be coming in again:
  17. I've had this plane several months and find I just can't keep it stable in flight. Trimming for level flight, take my eyes off for a second only to find the plane in a climb or steep dive. I have the CH Eclipse yoke and CH pedals. What am I doing wrong here? Criticisms accepted without malice. I think if real flying were this difficult no one would do it.
  18. Here are some pics of my latest flight KATL-VABB in the Air India 777-300ER. I couldnt get any pics of the landing cause the graphics went all weird and blurry - couldnt see anything. Climbing out of Atlanta Climbing Turning North for a Bit Cruising Wing Flex!!!! Starting Descent Hope you Enjoy! This Flight was Dedicated to All those in Boston affected yesterday.....
