  1. IT "Hardware Guru-in-Chief" to head revitalized Avsim Hardware Department His name is Paul Johnson, or Paul J for short or PJ and he is the new AVSIM Hardware and Operating Systems Discussions Forum Manager, including: -Win8 OS Forum -The Win7 OS Forum -MOBO, RAM, CPU's & Other Hardware -Monitors, Video Cards and Drivers -Hardware Controllers & Drivers -WIFI, Routers, Ethernet, I/O Boards, etc Paul has had a remarkably distinguished career in the Information Technology industry. He has been part of crucial planning and implementation stages of some of the more important and constantly evolving platforms and operating systems that have come our way. I don't think anyone in our forums management history has been as qualified and as experienced in hardware and software matters as Paul. We look forward to ever increasing levels of success of the Hardware Section under his leadership. New AVSIM Hardware Guru-in-Chief, is being hailed as "just" what the Industry and our hobby needs, "just" when it needs it! The happy fact is that his knowledge and ability is wrapped up in one of the most humble, unselfishly willing and helpful individuals in the hobby. This man really knows his stuff, and equally important, he knows people and how to lead and show them how to help each other. Please join me, the AVSIM board of Directors, the Executives, Administrators, Moderators and staff in giving an enthusiastic welcome to Paul to this most important volunteer responsibility and wish him outstanding success in every way. Kind Regards, Spiritflyer (Stephen) Manager of the AVSIM Forums
  2. Beta testers, posting in the AVSIM Forums, should make everyone aware of your affiliation(s) in your signature so our membership can see where you are coming from when posting. In the past we asked developers to let us know if they are developers so members can see the individuals affiliation when posting. We never did this for beta testers but, ethically and morally, letting our membership know who you represent or work for should be included in your signature. Beta testers should be proud to show they are beta testing products! I have seen a lot of outstanding banners in signatures showing the product with the words "Beta Tester" inside. That's a good idea but I am not asking for everyone to post a banner with the words "beta tester" inscribed, just asking everyone to indicate they are a beta tester for (name of company). That way our members will know, just like we know many members are developers, they are beta testing. Thanks to everyone for your cooperation.
  3. Hi all, Yesterday I installed the autogen from NL2000 ; trees, houses, buildings. I remarked that I have missing buildings in the center of all major cities. First I thought that they had not done these, but the ere ag files that cover these spots too. I have FTX Global installed and later France VFR products. France VFR makes a copy of some of the Autogen files, like default.xml , materials.spb , autogendesriptions.spb and roofdescriptions.spb. It might be possible that FTX Global has changed thoses files and the backup that FranceVFR made is not the default one. To exclude any issues with the NL2000 autogen I want to reinstall the default Autogen folder. Is there any way to reinstall them without having to reinstall P3D complete ? ( Eg renaming the current P3D folder to P3D.old and installing a new one next to it ..? ) Thanks for all suggestions. Nb : when trying freeware Netherlands autogen buidlings appear in the cities centers. And those ag files have the same name as the files in NL2000.
  4. Hi, I must admit its getting a bit hard and pretty complicated with all those add-ons and since ORBX and Scenery configurator also is not kompatibel makes things even more exciting sometimes. Lately after a Flytampa EHAM install i noticed that i did not have any Amsterdam City with SkyScrabers and football stadions . Also this Autogen folder inside P3D can change over time and after a FTX Central V3 open/close episode. I am wondering if it has something to do with this "Autogen Folder" that i am missing Autogens (Amsterdam Skyscrabers ) ? Any help is appreciated and understanding of what is exactly being changed in that folder over time is more than welcome Thanks Michael Moe
  5. Good evening, I have a problem with black clouds that i hope you guys can help me with. As you can see i have big black clouds. I am using PTA 2.0 with Pedrag's preset, ENVTEX, AS16 and REX Soft Clouds. I have searched around, and i've tried to delete the content in /AppData/LockheedMartin/Local/Prepar3d/Shaders, and i have also replaced the ShadersHLSL with the original folder wthout luck. Any suggestions? Anyone know the solution for this? Greatly appreciated!
  6. Not sure exactly when this happened but whenever I try to create a flight plan using the P3D planner the save option is greyed out if KRNO is involved. No other airports do this. Ideas? Thanks
  7. Hi all- I was wondering what the procedure is to replace just the Daedalus AC in UTII. I'm OK with the rest of the AI for now. Cheers, Mark
  8. Hi everyone. Hope you all has an amazing Xmas...... Just a little time poor in getting information on a good system to run P3D. I have a budget of $1.8K and looking to make the switch from FSX to P3D. If anyone out there can put together some specs I would greatly appreciate it. A few months ago I picked up a GTX 970 4GB so was thinking of using it in the new system to save some $$. I also intend to use my existing 27inch monitor and not looking to go into 4K just yet. I have all the ORBX range (pretty much) and run PMDG, high quality scenery addons etc....... Appreciate your help guys. Jas
  9. In the P3D controls list is one called Turbine Power Management System Toggle. I enabled it but couldn't see that it did anything. Can someone bring me up to speed on what it is and how it works? Noel
  10. Hey, First of all I wish yo a happy new year and all of luck. Now, my problem is that my sky textures look very weird. There are no smooth transitions between the colours. I don't know why this happens or what it causes. Could anyone help me ? Thanky you very much and have a nice weekend. (in the picture it does not look as bad as it actually is)
  11. Has anyone found a solution to the landing lights not working on the WOAI aircraft.
  12. I've used CP with TIR manual launch and loved this add on, with 1.5 and added native TIR support this is simply awesome!!
  13. If you'd be interested in an Online, Interactive Session on Shared Cockpit, please see and respond to the post at the link below (on the Aerosoft Forum). Thanks! LINK Best wishes!
  14. Captains, We're looking for more Voice Actors for upcoming voice pack expansions. We really need a German, Spanish (Spain) and Dutch voice, preferably a real-world airline pilot. If you know anyone, please have them contact me by sending a Support Ticket via: www.fs2crew.com
  15. Just a quick update: Some of you have been experiencing some issues "Authenticating" the new patch and we have narrowed the issue down. While we get things sorted out, for those still experiencing problems, please contact our support department. Once again we thank you for your continued support and apologize for this hiccup. The Majestic Software Team. Simeon Richardson.
  16. Attention: FS2Crew is re-inventing its pusback team. However, in keeping with our "raise the bar" with every release philosophy, we need your help. We need REAL WORLD people who work as Pushback / Start Crew from AS MANY DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AS POSSIBLE. Please contact me asap if you work as a real world start crew! We need people from as many different countries as possible as we to make a truly international pushback crew. You're probably saying, what's the point in doing this? GSX/AES are pretty good already. Well, all I can say is that our Pushack Utility is going to be FS2Crew style -that is to say, as realistic as possible- and it will be different and unique from the rest. The only thing we can't do are animated people and loading trucks, but in every other area we can do better I think. Expect voice control and menu control for the non-voice users.

Pour compléter cette rubrique, rendez-vous sur My profile - Edit my profile et complétez les infos tout en bas. Cette mesure prend effet immédiatement. Elle est obligatoire. 18. As of about 15 minutes ago, the Majestic web site and forum are still off line. So, we have opened an unofficial support forum for their new Dash 8 customers to use in the meantime. We will be moving all existing Dash 8 messages from the various forums to this forum. You can access the forum here; http://forum.avsim.net/forum/603-unofficial-majestic-software-support-forum/

  20. Captains, Ever so often we will be checking in on you to get some feedback regarding your OOE - Overall Operating Experience. We are aware that some pilots find the aircraft to be a bit intimidating regarding power management and this becomes more evident during the approach phase of the flight. One of our Beta Test Pilots who is actually a Q400 pilot has been kind enough to share some of his techniques that he has made notes of regarding best practices in setting your aircraft up for a stable approach/landing. We hope that this information will prove to be beneficial in helping to you to better understand your Q400. If you have any questions please feel free to post in the forum. Props Rule!!!! The Majestic Software Team Simeon
  21. The AVSIM Crash-to-Desktop (CTD) guide provides information on what you can do when you get one of those dreaded CTD’s while running FSX/P3D/FS9, tips on preventing CTD’s, and some actual fixes for some known CTD’s. A CTD includes incidents where FSX/P3D/FS9 freezes up during a flight or you receive a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Except for some known causes of crashes, each CTD must be investigated and this guide will provide you with some tools to assist you in finding the cause and taking corrective actions. We hope this guide will be sufficient and prevents you from the dreaded task of uninstalling/reinstalling FSX/P3D/FS9 and Windows. The link to the guide can be found here - http://forum.avsim.net/files/file/65-avsim-crash-to-desktop-guide-for-fsx-p3d-fs9/. If you encounter a CTD, please follow the instructions in the guide for 'what to do' after getting a crash. Links to the AppCrashView or BlueScreenView are included. Best regards,
  22. For your information, we disabled the add-on which allows users to create a username and link an existing username with the above services. Since day one they have caused more grief than good on the back end of things.
  23. We recently had a situation where a person attempted to spoof an admin (me) and then send some pretty nasty PM's to various members of the community. Prior to this, we put into place a verification system that can indicate to you whether you are receiving a verified admin's PM. If you receive a PM from any admin that are real admins, the message will have at the top this statement: If this message does not appear above the PM of a staff member, you can be reasonably certain that the person sending you a PM is not an admin or staff member. If that happens, please report the post / person immediately. Thank you.
  24. I'd like your opinions on how to get night lighting corrected on my P3d v3.2 setup. Basically, it looks like any urban / suburban textures are a raging firestorm - way too bright and lit up everywhere. (I don't have a good place to store a photo, or I would have a link here...) My setup: - v3.2 - Orbx Global and LC NA - UTX roads - REX textures for water, sky, clouds - using PTA v2.0 I have tried every combination I can think of - Orbx night lighting on / off, UTX night lighting on / off, reduced the autogen emissive value in PTA. These things make a bit if difference, but overall it looks like a forest fire below me. The rest of my P3d world looks great. Thanks, Ron
  25. i have decided i have had enough of p3d v3 as the water sucks and the hdr sucks also my woai aircraft don't work properly the lights are all messed up so i am asking is it better to go to fsx with the dx10 fixer or p3d v2.5 thanks.
