  1. Hello guys, I ask the experts .... my request is not aircraft specific, even if this case relates to MD11; I'm trying to assing to a joystick button a spoiler detent to increase/decrease speedbtrakes without success. I can only assign "Spoiler ON / OFF" but not incremental notches like for flaps to understand; I see in FSUIPC "Button and Keypresses/FS Control" there is the Spoiler Incr and Decr command but it seems to have no effect, at least on PMDG MD11. Does anyone know where I am wrong or suggest me the correct configuration in FSUIPC? Thanks in advance, Riccardo
  2. Hello all. I have been using a joystick with twisting function for my FSX. I just got my rudder pedal and trying to separate the tiller and rudder. So far I have managed to use the tiller by the joystick twisting without affecting the rudder but when I use the rudder pedal, the tiller turns and steer the aircraft on the ground. So is there a way to assign rudder pedal to rudder function only? I'm testing on PMDG 777 but I think the same will be for your 737 and MD11? (Yes, I have searched google for couple hours) Hoang Le.
  3. When I load the 737NGX and configure the Ailerons and Elevator. The Ailerons only move 2 degrees Left and right Elevator only an inch forward and back and the rudders hardly move. It doesn't matter if I config them through FSX-SE or Fusipc it still happens but not on other aircraft. Help Richard Preece
  4. Help any one Ive had a complete fresh reinstall of my system and finally moved over to FSX Steam Im having dificulty configuring the Saitek Joystick and Rudder, Its been recommended that for the PDGM 737 the throttles are configured through FSX which I have done and Ive tried to configure the elevators, Ailerons and Rudders through FUSIPC. however when I have done this the Ailerons only move 2 degrees in either direction the elevatoes only move about an inch forward and back and the Rudders hardly move at all. Ive tried running them back through settings within FSX-SE and taking out any conflicting commands in FSUIPC but I get the same. the Joy stick is calibrated and works for my Otter. So Have I missed something or has anyone had a similar issue and resolve it. a push in the right direction would be greatfull Regards Richard Preece
  5. Folks, I'm after that first pointer to get things going from which I believe I'll be able to get there myself. I've been trawling forums and manuals for days and can't seem to unpick this - if you know of a thread, here or elsewhere, that answers this, a pointer to it would be gratefully received. My Setup I'm running P3d 2.5 on my main computer (called "Flight1"). I have FSUIPC and Wideclient (registered versions) installed and working fine. I'm running the PMDG 737 (though will ultimately want to expand what I'm doing here to other aircraft in so far as that is possible). I have installed LINDA 2.6.3 on this PC. I have a second PC ("Flight 2") on which I run, FS Global Real Weather, FS Commander - all working fine. On this PC I also run SIOC (OpenCockpits software) and have built my own MCP using the USB interface, Mastercard, etc. Note that the OC Hardware is connected to Flight2 not the main P3D operating computer, Flight1. Background I have reached the stage where I am able to read the status of the PMDG MCP LEDS (e.g. CMD_A lit or not) and replicate this fine on my own hardware. I've done this using the SIOC code to read the status via WideClient/FSUIPC. This bit (after some head scratching to get there !) is fine. I can also operate the switches/buttons on my hardware and see the state change in the SIOC monitor, so I know the wiring at the end is correct. My difficulty I now understand that you can't programme (i.e. read a switch state and send it to the PMDG 737 in a similar way to how you read the status of items. From the reading I have done, I understand I will need to use LINDA and/or FSUIPC ".evt" (event) programming. Now this is where I'm getting stuck and would appreciate some insights from others. A few questions (that may be wide of the mark but will probably tell you where I'm at trying to hunt this down) I have installed LINDA on Flight1 (main P3D running computer) - is this the correct place to put it ? (I believe so) How can I link a state change on my hardware (that I can see in SIOC monitor) to the process of sending the command to the PMDG ? Does anyone know of any examples that would lead me through this ? Even a simple one that says "put this file here, change this value to coorrespond to your switch input and this one to the PMDG offset value from the SDK and it will work", just for one switch, would be great - I could then build off of this What I'm not necessarily after I'm not really after a "download this and it will do it answer" though I accept that this may assist me in unpicking things. Given that I'm building my own hardware from the ground up (no pun intended !), I need to understand this so that I can do different/odd things later if required. Thanks for your patience folks and I look forward to that "key" that will unlock the next step for me. Cheers, Rob
  6. Trying to figure out which settings I should be using with FSUIPC. Particularly, I purchased FSUIPC to help with strange weather affects on airplanes in REX Essential + OD. Not sure if I've been successful with FSUIPC and REX as I'm still getting strange thrust issues during climb and cruise. Read some turn off the weather in FSUIPC and others don't... What are you guys doing with those settings? Thanks
  7. Hello, I have a MADCATZ FLY 5 Joystick, with 2 throttle levers, and I want to make those 2 levers, control the 4 engines of the pmdg 747. I know I can do it with FSUIPC, but the problem is that the latest version of FSUIPC doesn´t record(if this is the right word) my data very well, because with KLM Virtual's ACARSng, I get very very low landing rates, so I know it´s related with the last version of FSUIPC. (When I got back to the previous version, problem solved!) My question is. Can I purchase the previous version of FSUIPC? Is there any other way to assign the joystick levers to the engines without using FSUIPC? Like the left lever controls engine 1 and 2 and the right one, controls the engines 3 and 4. If yes, how do I do it? Thank you very much for your help. Kind regards, Edgar Freitas
  8. Hi all, this has probably been done to death, but if someone can point me in the right direction, that would be great. I'm building a set of controls to replicate the aircraft I fly in real life (Tecnam Eaglet). First time I butchered an existing joysting, which worked to a degree. I've now got a Leo Bodnar card on the way to do it properly, and with many more switches. I'll be using FSUIPC as the interface, so any experience here would be great. What I'm interested in now is the outputs from FSX. If anyone has experience with using a Micro Maestro or similar to run servos for gauges, I'm keen to hear experience. Also, anyone that has successfully managed to harnes the force feedback outputs would be of great interest too. I'd rather not do a degree in programing to get there, so if anyone can share their experience, I'll be very grateful. Cheers, Tootle
  9. Hi Warthog owners. I am having trouble calibrating my axes through FSUIPC. I have read tons of different sometimes conflicting instructions on how to calibrate the axes through FSUIPC. I have them working fairly well but I have a few issues with the overall "feel". I also cannot get any other aircraft other than the PMDG aircraft to work properly. In all other aircraft I have no control over the axes or throttles. If there are any Warthog owners who calibrate through FSUIPC and if you feel comfortable would you mind posting your FSUIPC config file for me to compare with my own. Thanks in advance for your help!
  10. Hello, I have a need to run FSX with EZCA & FSUIPC in a new admin user account. On launching FSX, EZCA will also attempt to launch with an error. This works fine in the other user account. In short, the problem is add ons for FSUIPC and EZCA either do not launch or an Add-On menu is not available. SO TWO ISSUES: 1) When launching FSX, EZCA attempts to launch but fails with the error: Ezdok camera addon Unable to write to C:\Users\sim\AppData\Roaming\EZCA\db\general.INI. 2) The Add-On menu doesn’t appear in this new user account. (So, I cannot access FSUIPC) QUESTIONS THAT MAY BE ASKED: Are both users administrative users? Yes Have you tried right clicking and running as administrator? Yes (in both users) Is the folder, “EZCA” located at, “C:\Users\sim\AppData\Roaming\”? No Version numbers: FSUIPC 4.929 and EZCA 1.16 Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe 10.0.61472.0 (fsx-sp2.20071210-2023) MY CONFIGURATION: iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), Intel i7 3.40 GHz, 32 GB, GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB VRAM, 3TB HDD Fusion OPERATING SYSTEM: (running via Boot Camp) Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) SP1 Any assistance would be appreciated! - Shaun
  11. Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times, but I've been searching for two days now and can't find an answer. Is there any software (SImConnect, FSUIPC, WideFS) that will allow me to put the ATC window and GPS window on a remote computer? I'm using Panel Builder with a spare monitor on a networked laptop, but that gives me the laptop's native screen to use for some real estate. I would love to move these two things to that screen. Freeware, payware, whatever, I just need a solution!
  12. Hi Everyone, First,Im sory for my bad english.. I'm using Sp1c Pmdg NGX and I have a problem with LNAV. For information : Im using FSX default weather engine (updating every 15 min) its maybe about weather update ?? Best Regars.
  13. Hey Gang I have been around and have flown the King Air Line, as a Line Captain for Charter Companies and for Private Companies. BE350 to the C, E, and B 90s and they are absolutely top of the line when it comes to corporate turbo props. So, in efforts to get re-acquainted with the layout, I thought I would grab a copy of Carenado's B200. At first, I had to say I was a little disapointed. It seemed there was quite a bit missing and such. However, I started to think.. Maybe it's the doof in the chair instead of the developers at Carenado. Hmm. Yep I proved myself right it was me. That said, getting the SP2 installed is a must. The out of the box copy really is filled with errors that they corrected. Reading another Real World pilot's post, someone commented that he should look what he paid for the FSX model and look at the price tag of the actual aircraft. I had to laugh at that. GREAT POINT. So. My findings are, once I got the aircraft tuned in to my less than professional setup, things started to come together. I happen to have a few tips that I will put up over on tips and tricks but thought I would put them here as well. First, if you are here, and you do NOT have a registered copy of FSUIPC... Well, uh... Wasting a lot of really missed opportunity to enjoy FSX in a very rich environment. Go grab it. What I noticed getting started was Carenado did such a great job it was really like saying hello to an old friend. I was amazed that almost every switch was modeled and works quite well so no need to cover that too much. I'd say it is really nice to see lights working, AutoFX test that works. Govenor Test that works etc Props and Governors The only critique I would give them is on their Propeller Governors. They seemed to have modeled some old 1960's era Bonanza or Piper something or another. King Air Governors simply do not "wobble" as they do in this model. SMOOTH is the order of the day. S m o o t h. King Air Governors do not go in and out and in and out of a particular pitch stop as they do in this model. If they did, it would be a major write up and I'd be bending a mechanics ear almost off to get it fixed. Their T210 does the same thing. They really need to fix that. Thottles. At first I was disappointed in the lack of responsiveness. THAT was me. Not Carenado. I finally got it about right via my X52 and FSUIPC. HERE are the numbers. Joy Assignment Throttle 1 Throttle 2 Send to FSUIPC Joy Calibration (Axis Calibration) (Page 3 of 11) Reverse: -14480 Idle: -10449 (in and out) Max: 11223 Slope: -8 Check the Filter Box I have found that this mix of numbers give me the most realistic responsive and travel distance I can get. This allows you to "reach reverse" (nicely) as well as having the power lever (throttle) hit the proper locations on the throttle quadrant. This particular range also gives a very nice taxi "creep" if you will. GIVEN, you have the ICE VANES deployed, AND you have the CONDITION LEVERS at HIGH IDLE. This test was done at Gross Weight too. So as you get lighter you will have to move more towards ground fine. The -8 Slope allows for a much faster spool up and spool down. When it comes to taxi of well ANY turboprop but especially the King Air 200, 300, or 350, you have to keep in mind that there is JET THRUST being generated. I will let you look that up if interested but it is substantial. You have to balance that with Torque and Prop RPM to get the thrust needed for a nice taxi. So patience is the order of the day. This is not a recip. Takes a little skill to taxi these. Without burning up the brakes that is. Well I hope this helps. I hope to find more as I keep flying this. If you are reading this trying to figure out whether to buy or not. I would give this one in particular a serious thought. The other King Air B200s out there are not really indicative of what is actually out there flying today.
  14. Five hours of pain because I suffered a senior moment when I blew out all my USB port assignments using USBDeview.exe. First: Garmin Pilot (For Android or iPad) is a solid tool that will bring your immersion to even greater heights. It's free for 30 days, but if you want to try "SAFE TAXI" (Highly recommended) you will need to buy a year of that service even if you choose not to subscribe to the underlying Garmin Pilot. You can connect FSX to your tablet and use this app, but several little kinks: IN FSX: Start FSUIPC (paid version 4.5 or higher by Pete Dowson), and find the GPSOut settings. YOU MUST enable GPSOut to make the Garmin Pilot Work, and YOU MUST choose the correct com port which is assigned when you pair your tablet to your FSX PC via BLUETOOTH. If you do not do this, you will never ever be able to make Garmin Pilot work, period. In FSUIPC click AutoSave/GPSout tab. Right side of window, put tickmark in box says "Check to enable this GPSout (which means GPS Output In the next section click the drop down window and select the com port your tablet is using via Bluetooth to connect to your PC. (Mine was Com16) put tickmarks in the following boxes: RMC, VTG, GGA, GLL, GSA, GSV, PgmZ and click OK Then, on your Android tablet: LOCATION SERVICES put tickbox in Use GPS Satellites and important! In DEVELOPER OPTIONS, debugging, put tick box in "Allow mock locations" Install Garmin Pilot. Under settings you would see "External Bluetooth GPS" and you should see your FSX PC listed. Be sure you have 'discover my pc' enabled on your FSX PC. On your Android SETTINGS area, turn on BLUETOOTH. You should see your FSX machine listed. Double tap it. A dialog box will open on your FSX machine asking if you want to enable communications and verifying the pairing code on both your FSX box and your Android. Say OK or YES on both devices. Wait for the drivers to install. Press the connect button and you should then be connected to your FSX machine. Remember FSX must be RUNNING before Garmin Pilot will work.
  15. Hi, I've had to disable autosave in FSUIPC as it takes around 5 - 10 seconds to do the save. I first set autosave to 120seconds, but to have the sim freeze for 5 - 10 seconds every two minutes is just not going to fly with me. Has anyone managed to get better results than a long pause, or is it just one of those things well have to put up with? Rynardt
  16. I'm sure this has been asked many times before but I'm baffled that I cannot search this forum....!!! And since I don't find this question answered anywhere obvious at PMDG website here goes the question. How can trigger the buttons on the CDU via external hardware? The aircraft has tons of LVars, standard FS controls etc to push all kinds of other buttons but I can't find anything that triggers the CDU buttons. How do I do that? I have registered FSUIPC, an VRInsight MCP-Combo, know the Lua language etc. so hopefully somehow there is a way... Regards, Allan Jensen
  17. I am trying to run CrgSim to allow me to display a PFD and other instruments on a monitor run by a computer networked to the computer that's running FSX. Do any simmers here have experience with the software? I'm having trouble getting the PFD to display. I have an email in to the developers, but I'm asking here as it may be a simple, common problem that others have already dealt with.
  18. Hi, Could someone please give me a good setting for the FSUIPC visibility tab for FS2004. The following sections are what I need :General Limits and extensions AND Smoothing options! Ideas Appreciated Kind Regards, Kriss
  19. Hi, I am ruinning FSX alonf with REX 2.0, GEX and Ultimate Terrain. Can I install ASE along with this setup or would I have to uninstall REX 2.0? The two programs seem very similar but ASE seems tp provide a more realistic cloud and weather generator. Do I require FSUIPC or SIMCONNECT if I install ASE? If so, where can I d/l (purchase) a current version of SIMCONNECT? Thanks for your help. Phil
  20. I am in the midst of setting up my yoke and throttle quadrant in P3D v4, and I am trying to do it without the need to purchase FSUIPC 5. There's a decent chance I'll cave. FSUIPC 4 has a default Delta value of 256 in the Axis Assignment tab, which I believe reduced my CH throttle quadrant levers from any noticeable jitter. P3D v4, on the other hand, is picking up the slightest bit joystick jitter as if the Delta was significantly lower. The in-sim effect is causing my cockpit levers to jitter quite noticeably. Changing the axis sensitivity in P3D doesn't seem to affect this Delta. So, my question is how do I adjust the Delta that Prepar3D reads in without needing to install FSUIPC 5?
  21. As PMDG is currently working on the 747-8, I thought that this would be the perfect time to make a suggestion. It seems that for quite a while there has been an ongoing problem with the use of FSUIPC to assign throttle inputs to hardware axes. I was hoping that PMDG and Peter would eventually find a solution but it doesn't look like it will happen. The only thing that has prevented me from moving all throttles assignments off of FSUIPC is that I am hooked on flying your 747 and I need the ability that FSUIPC gives me to assign multiple throttle inputs to a single axis (eg., 1>1+2 & 2>3+4). It would be great if PMDG could add optional menu item that would do this internally. What do you think?
  22. I am trying to add some functionality v4 that FSUIPC provided me in v3, and I can't seem to figure out how to add new key assignments. I am currently attempting to add new assignments to the standard.xml file in AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Controls In particular, I'm trying to add keys to toggle my beacon, taxi, and navigation lights. I'm using the eventIDs from http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv2/LearningCenter/utilities/variables/event_ids.html For example, I added this in my <Name>KEYBOARD_MAIN.Native</Name> section <Entry> <Key>CTRL+SHIFT+P</Key> <Down>TOGGLE_TAXI_LIGHTS</Down> </Entry> Upon loading P3D v4, that assignment gets removed. Any thoughts? Thanks.
  23. Hi there. Is there a list of offsets the PMDG 777 is using ? I found such a list for the 737 and it made it a lot easier for me to configure all the leds in my homecockpit. Best regards Andi
  24. I have just installed and only gotten in one flight thus far with ASN. I have the "turbulence chop" effects in Accu-Feel (A2A) and the random turbulence in FSUIPC both set to "on" at various levels. Should they both be turned off when using the same effects in ASN? Right now I have ASN set to realistic wx with some small variations of my own. BTW, with only one flight in, I can say I do like the greatly improved low level haze and cloud redraws (or visible lack thereof). Looks to be a winner thus far.
  25. This problem has really been bothering me for a long time. I have tried basically everything in the book to solve it. When I switch tasks in flight, say to check vpilot or go to chrome, my controller resets and causes fsx not to read it anymore. I tried porting it through FSUIPC and the same problem occured. I've gone through device manager(making sure it doesn't cut off for power saving), and did the same thing in control panel. I have run fsx in compatability mode, still no luck. When I check fsuipc anything to do with the yoke disappears. I've updated the drivers on saitek, and the problem is still there. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with vas because whenever I go into a high end scenery area or I use a heavy payware aircraft it tends to happen more often. It's literally making it impossible to fly because I can't seem to go through a flight without this problem occuring. Sometimes I don't even need to do a task switch to get this to trigger, the yoke itself will just blip on and off and fsx will stop reading the yoke. This also happens with almost all my other joysticks as well. The only way I know about fixing it is by switching between fullscreen and windowed mode a ton of times, but that only works to a point. I am completely at a loss of what to do next. I've heard its a common problem with windows 8, but I still have no idea how to solve it.
