Hi Folks Anyone still interested in flying Cargo Jobs ? If so you might like to have a play with...... 'Cargo Series' - Career-progression based 'Jobs', enabling the use of larger aircraft and payloads, in Flight. 'Cargo Series' jobs are based on MGS Flight's default 'Light Cargo' job, (as-released). All modifications and additional code being restricted to the limitations/capabilities of MGS Flight's mission engine/framework, and their existing, as-released, dialog's content. ______________________________________________________________________________________ What this public beta contains - A career-progression of aircraft-category weight-size jobs, (4 off). The next beta will include additional variants of each aircraft-category job. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Why - MGS Flight's default missions & jobs - - Mainly use statically scripted code, (see example below). - Are coded specifically for limited aircraft types. - Are suitable only for limited aircraft weight-sizes, (Very-Light). - Cargoes are limited to 453 kg, (1,000 lbs). - Don't discourage inappropriate behaviours. - Have no career progression, (as released). Example - The majority of scripts only test against static values. e.g. Destination runway is short, (tests against 609m). Takes no account of aircraft-type, payload, weather, etc. MGS Flight's default 'Light Cargo' job - Is actually only suitable for 'Very-Light' category sized aircraft. 'Cargo Series' jobs - - Mainly use dynamically scripted code, (data from aircraft type being flown). - Are suitable for all available aircraft types, (extensible). - Are suitable for any aircraft weight-size, (subject to MTOW). - Cargo weights are appropriate to aircraft weight-size. - Discourage inappropriate behaviours, (penalties). - Offer a career progression. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Credits - - Microsoft Game Studios - For FLIGHT. - Steve Heijster, (StoneLance) - For his 'Flight Tool Kit', unflagging enthusiasm, and diligence. Much appreciated. Many thanks to Steve, without whose tools and assistance this would not have been possible. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Download - From FS-Shipyards.com - MS FLIGHT - ADDON - ACTIVITIES - JOBS - Cargo Series Have Fun ! Hi Folks Yes World - World, as intended. Whilst I love Flight's UI map-based concept, and admire its stylised representation, I'd always found its implementation, lacking sufficient useable detail, and on occasion, downright misleading. Guessing from some screenies, the flurry of FTK v1.0.17 'profile issue' posts, utterly swamped recognition & appreciation of Steve's incorporated World Region UI addon. I've no idea whether people are actively using it, so just as a head's up using Air1's location pic as a comparison example - It displays the terrain topography and some vector data from Flight's native files. I'd mainly been flying in windowed mode, (small), since installing I've started using full-screen mode again. Nice work Steve. ATB Paul

MS FLIGHT - CORE - UI - Upgrade - MissionLoadScene - Tips When you load flights, missions, jobs, etc. are you bored with reading the same tips ? This addon package contains - - 112 new additional tips, quotes, & factoids for the 'scenery-loading' screen. - Plus 88 of FLIGHT's original 98. I've removed FLIGHT's website, survey, and GFWL related tips. The tips, quotes, & factoids, alternate between originals and new. All formatted for improved readability, (within 5 row limitation). When installed, and once in-game, tips will continue loading from whichever one you'd seen previously. i.e. They won't restart from tip zero. Please note - Currently this package will work on any FLIGHT language installation, however, the tips will be displayed in ENGLISH only. A future multi-language upgrade may become available if persons are willing to assist with translations. I'll supply the nescessary files, or raw text. Hi Folks I've uploaded a bugfix for the C-46. Just a replacement internal data file , and not extra content for you to fly. Description - The C-46, as-released, could only be used to fly a limited range of Job or Mission types. i.e. Those requiring an aircraft class of - - 'Very Light' - All default missions & jobs. - 'Medium' - None available, yet. Allowing no career progression from 'Very-Light' through to 'Medium'. This bugfix package - - Enables that career progression. - Adds all C-46 appropriate 'Category Flags', (adds - Trainer, Light, Light-Medium). - Works for all C-46 3rd party liveries, (aka repaints). - Works with all Flight's language installations, (language independent). N.B. The 'ACTIVITIES - JOBS - Cargo Series' addon will require you install this package. Otherwise, you will be unable to progress beyond 'Very Light' aircraft jobs, to the heavier cargo payloads for larger aircraft class jobs, ('Light', 'Light-Medium', 'Medium'). Technical - Aircraft have Liveries, (repaints). A Livery file describes an Aircraft's capabilities. A Livery file contains CategoryFlags. CategoryFlags define the Aircraft's type/useage classifications. e.g. FixedWing, Light, Medium, Heavy, etc. Jobs & missions contain a SimObjectFlagName field, listing their required CategoryFlags permitting an aircraft to fly that job or mission. MS FLIGHT - ADDON - CORE - MISC - Upgrade - CareerTrackDefinitions - Version 2 For 'XP Grinders', and any aspirants. This addon upgrades FLIGHT's Core\Misc\CareerTrackDefinitions file, and when installed, supercedes all previously released versions. Flight's 'User Profile' displays a maximum of - - As Released - 'Level' 20, equating to 500,000 'XP'. - As Upgraded - 'Level' 100, equating to 128,000,000 'XP'. Hopefully more than sufficient, for most of your flying careers. These XP-Level definitions are based on the same numerical-progression as FLIGHT's original. Pre-Installation - Anyone who'd installed the previous CareerTrackDefinitions addon, should fully remove that CareerTrackDefinitions.addon. To remove - - START 'FTK Addon Manager' - SELECT the 'CORE - UI - Upgrade - CareerTrackDefinitions' - RIGHT-CLICK & DELETE the original 'CORE - UI - Upgrade - CareerTrackDefinitions' Installation - Due to changes implemented in FTK addon's loading-sequence, introduced in support of the 'FSX World' conversion addon, this CareerTrackDefinitions v2 now requires manual installation. Installation actions may require Administrator-level privelege. UnZip into a temporary location. The Zip contains 2 files - - Core_Misc_CareerTrackDefinitions.pak - README_INSTALL_Core_Misc_CareerTrackDefinitions.txt, (this file). Ensure FLIGHT is not running. Locate your folder containing "Flight.exe". Copy the 'Core_Misc_CareerTrackDefinitions.pak' file, into that folder. Using Notepad.exe, or another TEXT editor, (not WordPad, or Word), open 'FileLocator.config' from that folder. SELECT and COPY the XML MappingEntry line below. <MappingEntry LocationType="Zip" PhysicalLocation="Core_Misc_CareerTrackDefinitions.pak" VirtualPath="Core" /> Scroll to the end of 'FileLocator.config'. Find the closing tag </FileLocator>. PASTE the above COPIED line of XML into FLIGHT's default 'FileLocator.config' file, immediately prior to the closing tag </FileLocator>. Save your edited 'FileLocator.config'. Post Installation - Start FLIGHT.exe. Click PLAY. On FLIGHT's in-game menu, click 'PILOT PROFILE'. Your 'CAREER' profile page will be displayed, showing your 'XP' earned, matching 'Career Level', plus detailed performance data. If your currently active profile has earned more than 539,375 'XP', ('Career Level' 21), that profile should now display your appropriate upgraded 'Career Level'. Any problems - Post here in this thread. Author - Microsoft - Tweaked and extrapolated by Paul Donnelly, (BASys). Credits - Microsoft Games Studios HTH ATB Paul Donnelly (BASys)
