Hello. Will LINDA continue to work in the future? As a big fan and user of Linda, I ask myself exactly this question. Against the backdrop of a 64-bit version of the Flight Simulator Prepar3D, which is expected to be released in the future, discussions are constantly taking place that 32-bit programs such as Linda would no longer work with a 64-bit P3D version. Since it would be for me of immense importance to learn how this with LINDA and P3D 64-Bit behaves. Cheers Christian

From Columbia, South Carolina; The X-Plane Developer's Conference Today was the first day of the DevCon for X-Plane taking place at the Hilton in Columbia. A global presence is in attendance, with Aerosoft, Flight1, JustFlight, and others here. The day covered some history of the X-Plane product line and the evolution of it over the last 16 years. The primary goals of this first day were to delve into both aircraft desigb and the instrument panel tools. Scenery is on the agenda for the second session on Friday. Some issues, installs spanning multiple drives as an example, were also discussed. Laminar will be looking at this and other issues that were raised. The User Interface is also a subject of discussion and we'll report on that tomorrow. From AVSIM's perspective, the content and dialog of the meeting is encouraging. The obvious growth of the product puts X-Plane solidly in the competitive ring as an alternative available to the future simmer and our hobby. Based on what we heard today, there are some significant add-on offerings coming from all of the publishers represented.

doom Okay folks, get a grip time is upon us
Tom Allensworth posted a topic in Microsoft FLIGHT Archive
There is a very short list of folks that know EXACTLY what Microsoft's immediate plans are for FLIGHT. I am not one of them, and neither is anyone here posting about its future. I have seen the product as have dozens, if not hundreds, of BETA testers. I know no more about MS' future plans, intentions with FLIGHT, or other prognostications than anyone NOT in the inner circle does. Anyone here who is posting opinion as FACT is blowing it out there posterior regions. Those that DO KNOW would no more post what they know here if they wish to continue being employed. What I see here is a number of 'poison dwarfs'. People who no matter the reality are going to turn things into the negative, just because they can.AVSIM is not going to shut down or demote this forum. The future of flight simulation, in so far as the community's growth is concerned, MAY WELL BE the thousands that do participate in the hobby through FLIGHT and that come to realize that there are more expansive, realistic sims available to them. Those possible thousands are potential customers of a future FSX advancement... Those possible future customers might well give MS the motivation to recognize a market sufficient to re-invest in the FS franchise. Is this "Polly Anna" thinking? Who knows? I sure don't. But what I can say is that just because you don't see FLIGHT as a positive move, don't poison the punch bowl for those that at least are willing to give it a chance. And... chopping MS off at the knees based upon your CONJECTURE ain't cool either. -
Hello . I played around with FSX years ago but my computer was a bit underpowered so the bug left me. I now have a gaming PC and have purchased fsx steam. Am having good fun and the information available now e.g YouTube is staggering . I tried running P3D V5 but my set up (despite its Ryzen 7 and 16gb of RAM) just would not run consistently . My question is should I invest time and money in FSX or bite the bullet and just download 2020 ? I s there a future in FSX ?
