Hello, I would like to know if you know some really good FSX aircraft developers and give me some contact information (facebook, twitter, etc.). I want to ask some of them, if the would consider making a Schempp Hirth Duo Discus glider or just the VC of it for FSX. I know Michal Puto (who made the amazing SZD Pirat) or David Rowberry, but I cant find any contact to them and I either dont know if Michal Puto is still making FSX aircraft. I also know that there is a Duo Discus out already for FSX, ( now, I am not necesarilly a high- end products fan) but it is from 2009 and the quality and functionality of the VC is rather low (with all my respect to the developer). Do you think I will find somebody, who would do it? Any tips and opinions on such a request are appreciated.

Hi everyone! First of all, I'm new to AVSIM so I don't know if this topic is in the right place. If not, please tell me. One or two years ago, I've downloaded a fantastic program developed by Paavo Pihelgas named Aerotow. It allows you to change the default tow plane and make it fly patterns around your origin airport. Some weeks ago, I've tried to find a newer version, since I found on few forums that there is a version that allows you to fly a specified flight plan, which my version can't do. Many (if not all) of the forums referred to the following link: http://lennundus.orgkaos.org/failid/workinprogress/aerotow/?M=D, but it is now dead. Does anyone know if there is a newer version of the program (which I now begin to doubt), and if yes, where can I find it? (or can you make it available to everyone if you have it?) Cheers, Marcalex

Yesterday was a Good Day! The weather started off not too good, but seeing as there were a couple of qualified instructors down at the club I managed to get two more of the lectures out of the way (there are several to get signed off on as part of taking up gliding). Near the end of the second lecture, it was announced that we would be flying during the rest of the afternoon. I ended up having two short flights - no problem because I need to get on with circuit planning too! My instructor looked at my card and said right, you're doing the launch then. Er... no don't think I'm ready... OK he said, but you're doing the second one! I guess with 20 flights under my belt I should be trying these things. Anyhow, the conditions were nice and still, got a great approach set up and nailed the landing! I was a bit apprehensive preparing for the next flight - can I react fast enough before the glider gains flying speed? (large un-coordinated control inputs to prevent a wing dropping whilst going where the cable wants you to go etc.). I did something right because before I had time to get worried the ground run was over and she was flying! I ended up getting another 100 or so feet higher off the launch than my instructor managed previously! :Big Grin: Another spot on circuit and a good landing. My big mistake was almost doing a handbrake turn (E-brake in the US) on the ground run: The right wing was dropping so in addition to left aileron I put in a bootful of left rudder. It would have been a good coordinated turn in the air!! No harm done although too late I'd realised my mistake. I've a long way to go before I can carry out the above unsupervised, but it's a great feeling nonetheless!
