Hi, In all honesty I have used FSX without problems 1-2 years ago and then I went back to FS2004 because I could not stand the looks of the ground. Now that there are some advanced aircraft on the horizon that I would really like to fly (FlightSimLabs Airbus and the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 comes in mind first) I am once again thinking about trying FSX and once again my major concern are the general color tone of the ground textures. The default looks like a cartoon and parton my heresy but GEX (especially Europe with its colourful tiny fields and light green tone) looks even more so. I would like to ask for an honest reply and recommendation on what you are using generally for airliner flights around the world but primarily for Europe. Can you make GEX using ENB and a custom greyer colour palette a bit more close to real life colours? Do you rather stick with default or something else? To give you an example from FS2004 - this is the look and color tone that I find very believable for ground textures (of course the aircraft in FS2004 are nowhere near the current FSX offering and this is the reason why I would like to come back): I appreciate learning from your experiences. Alex

Sorry if a topic already exists like this, I couldn't locate one.... What I'm looking to do is restore EVERY file to do with textures.....after GEX, FTX Global, REX, UTX tests I am not 100% sure I executed the uninstall process properly on each addon..... I think i have congested my FSX and Im loosing FPS.....I would like to restore all original texture files properly and install my selected addons based on my tests CLEAN.... Will the repair function actually do this...sometimes I hear yes sometime I hear no...I kind of scared to do it...Am i jeopardizing anything?

I reinstalled the whole simulator an it got even worse. I tried flying on default scenery and nothing is loading, Not that they take long to load, no they even don't want to load. My sliders are on max and my settings on the AMD Control Center are all on default. I haven't touched my my fsx.CFG file yet. It's not the first time I have reinstalled fsx but this is the first time that this happens..

Hello all, I'm a P3D v3.4 user and I've been having a bit of an issue with ground textures during night flights. I have UTX Night Lighting and ORBX Global (and whatever lighting ORBX provides) installed and both seem to be coexisting well together. However, I seem to have strange, blurry ground textures that are meant to illuminate the ground but simply look BAD. They appear unrelated to any ORBX lighting, so I initially thought UTX was the culprit. However, after disabling "Autogen Lighting for UTX" via the scenery library, I saw UTX's lights disappear but these strange ones still exist. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Here's what they look like:
