  1. Flying from KRNT to KFHR I used the CVV VOR. The heading that LNM gave me 3 miles out of KRNT RWY 34 to go 'to' the VOR was 319 M - however the heading shown on the flight plan at the VOR where the line intersects the VOR was 315 M. Which one is correct and why?
  2. Basically, I'm a major newbie in VATSIM and I rarely use it from the complexity of it but I thought I'd give it ago but the one thing that really confuses is me is when no Air traffic controllers are covering the air space you are in how are you meant to work out when you need to start descending and how are you meant to work out the heading when you're about to go on approach.
  3. Hi, this i my first post in this forum and before i describe my problem i want to excuse my english i am from Germany and i am still learning ;)So when i and a friend make our Multicrew session, everything in the cockpit is synced until we begin to taxi. So, when we taxi (also happens while we are in the air) and the PF turns the plane to the right everything is correct and the heading is the same of PF and PNF.But when he turns left and passes the 180° mark, the PNF heading freezes at 182°.At PF side everything is still turning and the cockpit is also synced. And also the PNF plane is still moving but is stuck at this 182° degree. The Navigation Display of the PNF is also still showing the correct heading, only the plane itself is stuck. After the PF passes the 360° mark, the PNF's plane is back turning, but only until he passes the 180° again. Or he turns right and passes 180°, the PNF's plane is back turning and if he continue turning right everything is working at the PNF's side, just at a left turn there exists this problem. This problem exists if we try a FS9-FSX but also at a FSX-FSX connection. We both have W7 64bit and have the Fokker SP2.5 installed.Do you have the same problem ?ThanksMichael
  4. Hi friends, I have a problem with my 737/800 NGX from PMDG. As soon as I engage the autopilot, it is not possible to change the flightdirection without switching the heading button from the autopliot and turning the headingselection knob. For example: Assumed heading direction is 300. Assumed speed is 250 knots and Altitude is 9000 feet. Now I engage the Autopilot with a chosen speed from 250 knots and an Altitude 9000 feet, both set by the Altitude and Speed knobs. Also the Autothrottle is switched on and the green LEDs are glowing. The plane flies now the 250 knots and holds the Altitude perfect as chosen. But I can not control the plane to change the heading, by only using the yoke, even if I did not engage the Button for holding the headingdirection. To operate a headingdirection change, I have to engage the "Holding Heading" and I have to use the heading selector knob to change the direction by turning it into the wished direction. If I do not so, I can move the yoke full right or left, but the plane moves only unruly a few degrees in the chosen direction, and after putting it back to the middle position, the plane returns to the last headingcourse before engaging the autopilot. It seems to me, that there is anywhere a kind or courseprogramming taking place, that brings the plane to the last flown course, even if the heading selector of the autopilot is switched off. After disengaging the autopilot at all, I can control the plane normal by using the yoke. I have no idea, how to fix this problem. Does anybody has a solution for this strange behaviour of the plane? Thanks a lot. Robert Hammer
  5. I've been using Microsoft Flight Simulator since 1984 when the Apple IIC version came out. After installing FSX a couple years ago I've been taking of and landing hundreds of time in my PMDG-747 with absolutely no problem. A couple weeks ago I installed the FSX-SE version and suddenly I'm missing all of my ILS approaches; each and every one is lining up the aircraft at the left of every airport in any condition of weather, it also show the route line in a slanted position in the navigation panel (it never align with the plane); even if I set wind manually to 0 knots and perfect conditions. I know exactly how to set up the waypoints and ILS approaches on the FMC, since I've been doing it for years. The problem seems to be the Steam Edition in which I don't know how to fix this issue. I'm considering to return to my out-of-the-box FSX Gold Edition; but the reason why I've installed the SE edition is because it fix some video graphic problems with FSX out-of-the-box on Windows 10 64 bits. Any help will be very well appreciated. David Quinn
  6. Hello! I have posted this query over on the Orbx site and have received some replies but as of yet have received no correction, so I thought I would try the assembled minds here at AVSIM to see if they have seen anything similar. I have developed a condition where setting and following either HDG or NAV(GPS) after taking off from an Orbx airport (currently KSAN, KSBA, and KTEX) sends my aircraft off in the wrong direction. This "directional offset" seems to be consistently 90 degrees west from the desired direction. For instance, if I set HDG to 360 degrees the plane will fly at 270. This is happening with multiple aircraft. When I disable the Orbx airport and restart the flight, both HDG and NAV work correctly. If I subsequently re-enable the Orbx airport the symptom returns. I have also uninstalled and re-installed the airport (using my local directory versus the P3D directory) but the symptom remains. I am scratching my head and reviewing my log book to remember what changed, and the closest thing I can think of when I migrated to Orbx Central 4.0. The issue predates the P3DV4.5HF patches, and I am fully up to date. I am going to follow up with Orbx to inquire where compass headings et al are recorded in P3D. Maybe it is possible to refresh that component? Perhaps CONTENT? Driving me buggers... Thanks for you assistance!
  7. Hello Everyone! I have a small question, but complicated to ask actually. I added ILS systems to some airports around Spain who in real life didnt have it, because of the facility to land, and i even managed ATC to recognize them, so i can choose an ILS aporoach instead of only a VOR-DME or even only a Visual approach. My problem/question now is, as i added a new ILS with a new frequency, it doesnt show up in the traditional 'FS2004 Map', when you look into the airport information for a certain airport, to get the correct ILS frequencies. You see the name of the airport, the runway, the heading, but not the 'new frequency' for the ILS. Which file in the FS9 Folder gives access to this information to edit it, so i can manually add this frequencies? Or better: How can i edit this information within FS9, or do i need any external tool for that? (There's for example a name-failure for LPMA, it says 'Maderia'... I would like to change this, hehe) Thanks to each and everyone who could give me a hand in this peculiar problem. Greetz, Co-Pilot Diego.
  8. Hi guys, I have returned to simming MSFS after several years absent, encouraged back with the new release, however I am getting somewhat frustrated by an often unresponsive keyboard particularly with Shift Ctrl H, Z, R. I have read lots of threads on various sites mostly over a year old but no definitive solution, conflicts with other software such as NZXT etc. I watched a You Tube video and noticed that when activating the buttons the sub menu shows the keyboard commands, with me it shows the mouse commands only. My keyboard is recognised as other keys do work ok. Is this a software issue/conflict or am I simply doing something fundamentally wrong? Any help will be much appreciated. For reference I am using a Saitek yoke and at the moment most settings are on EASY.
  9. Apologies if this topic has been discussed before. I tried to search it but didn't really find anything useful. During my climb between 5000ft - FL 200 LNAV was getting frequently disengaged for some reason. I noticed that every time it disengaged after a turbulence as the plane was shaking sidewise. I do not have any weather add on and I was only using standard fsx realtime weather. So is it normal for the LNAV to get disengaged after a turbulence? On a separate note, during another flight all on sudden my auto pilot stopped working even though I didn't sign up for any emergence or failure. I had to deploy the second autopilot to get the plane on course. Since then the primary autopilot didn't work throughout the flight...is there any reason? Did I do anything wrong by mistake? Thanks in advance for your help. Ronnie
  10. I bought the PA34 Seneca V from Carenado and it seems like it is auto correcting for wind drift, the heading stayed about 10 degrees right of the heading bug on autopilot. I had a crosswing right to left of about 12kts. This is a problem for ATC control when flying online. Any ideas what's going on. I haven't found any similar postings
