  1. Hello all. I am new to the forums but i have been simming for a while. I have a problem that is driving me crazy. I have been trying to adjust the fuel flow of my Alphasim UH-60 and CH-46 to more realistic levels. I have adjusted everything. I have tried fuel_flow_scalar, fuel_flow_gain, PowerSpecificFuelConsumtion, ratetd_shaft_hp, etc... all to no effect. I have modified the air files, copied the config information from the the Acceleration Default EH-101, but nothing is changing. Is there something about fs9 aircraft that cause them to not work properly in FSX? I would pull out my hair if I had any. I have searched the forums, google, and every other place I could think of. Its been pretty much two years of off and on experimenting and I finally figured I would ask directly. Is this something that cannot be fixed? Is anyone else having issues with this? It seems like I spend more time tweaking now than flying. I'm about ready to give up. Losing my mind

  3. So, somebody asked about the PMDG for GA. Is there a PMDG of helicopters? Anybody fly them? Gregg
  4. Hi all not sure if anyone has the file still... But since the hovercontrol website has been down I can't get the ICARO aw139 base pack for fsx / fs9. Does anyone still have the file would be great if someone to send it to me , I had it also but my hard drive crashed and had to reinstall back addons I backed up. But yeah would be great if someone has it the base pack and the addon packs with it. Regards André
  5. Hi allToday I'm appealing to your knowledge as I'm struggling to find a solution. The problems is that every helicopter, default or payware, turbine or piston are experiencing CTDs after some minutes of flying (2 or 10, practically random) and I don't know which the problem is. On the other hand I don't have problems with any other aircraft on FSX as they are working perfectly. I've tried to use FSX repair function but the problem persists. I hope I could find a solution. My specs: MoBo: Asus P5Q Pro|Processor: Intel E8500 OC 4.2 GHz|Memory: 4 GB Kingston HyperX 1066|BFG Nvidia 9800 GTX + O|SB X-Fi Xtreme Music|FSX Pro + Acc (SP all)|WIN7 64 Thanks Jcmmg
  6. Visual approach and landing with Sikorsky Sea King on runway 22 at LFMD Cannes.
  7. Good evening! I'm new to this forum :) I just bought the 737-800\900 and -600\700 from PMDG. So far so good. Except, there is a really annoying propeller noise at the very beginning. You hear it inside the cockpit and outside but it should be completely (almost) silent. I uploaded a sample on youtube: I really hope so much that anyone can help me! This bothers me a lot! Greetings, Carsteb!
  8. I have Orbx's Eagle County Regional Airport scenery installed on my Prepar3d 3.1 setup. I had just landed my aircraft at the Avon STOLport airstrip (which is included in the scenery package), looked up in the sky, and saw a helicopter flying over the area with a gigantic, green exclamation point balloon slowly rotating above it (see the pic): Can anyone else confirm a similar sighting (not sure if it makes any difference, but the date was set for December 27th, and the time was about 11:30 local time. Thanks, Michael
  9. Hi is there any chance we could get a Eurocopter/Squrriel AS350 Rotor RPM gauge made. http://blog.aopa.org/helicopter/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/rotor-tach.jpg Thanks heaps.
  10. Hello I'm thinking about creating a Virtual airline for medical transports, med-e vac, air rescues, and more. If you think you might be interested let me know in the comments. I'm mainly asking for help to start this Virtual airline if anyone would like to help me build it from the ground up. The aircraft i plan to have in it will be a mixture of fixed wing and helo. Anyone interested or anyone the has any ideas and would like to help create please message me and we can find a way to make this a real thing.
  11. Hello forum, I have made a panel with the helo gauges. When I startup the dodosim via proper startup procedure the gas turbine needle doesn't pick up. I have to check the needle on the VC spin up to 15-18 and roll the throtle to idle for the proper startup . Then the needle on the panel jumps to life. I need the needle to run up at startup. How to solve this? Kind regards, Fred Stam
  12. Hey guys, recently I started down the long road to becoming a professional pilot. I've been looking for a decent piece of flight sim software to go with a sim-chair I'd like to purchase with a friend of mine. My question is to the heli pilots; does the r22 perform in P3D as it does in real life? So far I've been completely unable to find a sim that is even reasonably close to actual flying in a helicopter. Take On Helicopters, FSX, FlightGear, etc... all seem to be based on the idea that sensitivity = realism, and that's just not the case. Helicopters are twitchy, and they do require very subtle control inputs, but none of the aforementioned sims even come close to the feeling of a real R22. I know P3D is based on FSX, and that the visual improvements are significant, but honestly I couldn't care less about the visuals if the flight model doesn't stack up. I know P3D comes with an R22 model out of the box, has anyone with significant R22 flight time had a chance to fly it and compare? I haven't found any posts on this or any other forums, and a pretty thorough google search has yielded nothing. I know the aviation world doesn't care much about rotary pilots, but there's gotta be someone with some r22 time who has flown P3D... Any information would be great, thanks.
  13. So I came across this forum this morning while browsing some video game dogfight videos. Im a big enthusiast of piloting video games and I watched a couple clips of the Microsoft Flight simulator and I liked it but without some type of air combat, flight seems too plain to me. Maybe Ive played 'dog fights' so long that Im used to it. I understand that a lot of people play the flight simulators for just that, flight simulation. But I know there has to be gamers on this forum that like air combat. Well if your one of them and havent tried one of the following games, you should. My very favorite would have to be, and before you brush me away, hear me out: GTA 4. Theres two versions, GTA 4 Original and GTA 4 TBOGT, each offers its own kind of helicopter/s with their own ability. The flying mechanics still amaze me considering it was made over 5 years ago. The dogfights are nuts on this game because this is one of the few dogfight games, IMO, where skill means everything. Ive seen top guys, me being one of them, take on whole squads of mid level pilots on their own. And if it gets too much, why give them the satisfaction? Hop out and parachute into the city and let them try to come get you. Very realistic and one that I like very much is Battlefield 3. You have to fight your way to the aircraft but if youve put in the time to learn it, it is a delight when you disappear into the clouds and come down like a speeding bullet, taking out a couple of soldiers and a tank, and then disappearing back into the clouds. Even if youre about to blow up you can parachute down, and still use your RPGs or tracking missiles(if you have them) while your parachuting down. I usually just parachute right onto a vacant tank, park it in a good location and switch to gunner view. Which is like having an automatic mid range sniper rifle...while your proteted by the armor of the tank:). Halo reach, is aliens and monsters, probably not the kind of taste some of you have but it can be a lot of fun if you learn to circle in the helicopter and pick up 2 good shooters. Theres also a plane type aircraft called the banshee which can be very lethal and a game-changer. The bad thing is that the body isnt particularly strong and good players focus fire on the banshees until theyre taken down so you need to communicate with ground support. Im not home at the moment but on my pc I do have some very good footage bookmarked, and when I get home, I'll post some videos if anyone is interested.
