Hello there! I have a question about affinity mask. I tested prepar3d with AM of 14 like everyone recommends with an I5 and it was buttersmooth for the whole flight. Except one thing. When I took off the textures were fine but after a few miles the textures are blurry and the autogen stops loading and it stays like this unless I pause the sim for a very long time just to have it return after a few miles... I then tried an AM of 15 and it seemed OK but I experienced some stutters here and there and the experience wasn't so smooth anymore :( I would like to know what I have to do to keep an AM of 14 but to get rid of the "blurries" problem. My system isn't the best for simming (yes it's a laptop, don't tell me to get a desktop, already saving up for 1), but with an AM of 14 and the cfg wich you find below, I can achieve a solid 30FPS with ASN and the aerosoft airbus and rex soft clouds. Hi, I have looked in other threads but none of the fixes have worked. All my power management options are off. When I minimize fsx, (e.g. to activate a pro atc x flight) the joystick will not work. Sometimes it is recognized in fsx controls, but doesn't work. But normally, it isn't recognized in fsx controls, nor does it work. I am using Windows 8.1 and the Mad Catz V.1 stick. Any ideas? I was flying on FS9, but suddenly it closed down and an error came up that said, "Failed to read from file". Then about 30 seconds later, a window pops up that states FS9 had a fatal error and needs to shut down. I looked at the error report and now I suspect that a file named mfc70.dll might be causing this, but I'm not sure. I don't have any scenery packages that modifies the FS9.CFG or SCENERY.CFG and I do have SquawkBox and FSUIPC installed and they're all for FS2004. I did all I could to try and troubleshoot, but no success. I flew on FSX and no error, so it may not be a hardware issue. PLEASE HELP ME!!! Normal FS2004 Operating Settings: Display: Medium High~High; Aircraft: Ultra High; Weather: Medium Low~Medium High; Hardware: High PC Specs: Toshiba Satellite A105-S4254, (Dual) Genuine Intel CPU T2050 @1.6GHz, 0.99GB RAM, Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset, Toshiba MK3265GSX internal hard drive (Max Capacity: 298GB; 199GB of free space), Windows XP Media Center Edition with Service Pack 3, FS2004 ver.9 (No Update), and FS2004 No-CD patch for ver. 9.0 -

Just purchased Immersion and Precipitfx. PrecipitFx works just fine while Immersion can not be seen. Not at all sure of what to do as I am simply a FSX super fan and are not that totally knowledgeable of tweaking programs. HELP! It looks great and I want to fly!

Has anyone any idea how to restore EventViewer? Every time I try to run it I get a message : 'Event Log service unavailable. Verify that the service is running' but there is no reference to it in the Services. I can see the .exe in Windows/System32 but get the same error message there too. Help!

I've let the KGCN OZx World Installer install it for me but after I do, the scenery doesn't show. I also go to the Settings>Scenery Library (within FSX) but I can't find the KGCN or a Grand Canyon name entry. Do I have to add it? If so, how? I tried to add it but it won't allow me to open the actual KGCN folder. When I click it, it keeps going in the folders instead of opening it as a whole (I think). -Andrew

I made some tweaks to the .cfg, and I was wondering if I screwed something up, an image of the .cfg is attached. I run REX w/ Overdrive, with and I7 3.5ghz, 16Gigs RAM, GTX 670 if that makes any difference? Many thanks, Rammit
