Well, I went ahead and bought it, as a previous owner of the scenery I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a discount for existing customers- but I wasn't going to let it prevent me from seeing ATL in 2012 standards. Anyway, I plonked myself on the north side of the airfield at a GA position, I ended up in a heap of cargo pallets, alongside a cessna caravan which had suffered a similar fate, sitting in boxes. Now I removed the previous version from my scenery library, but have yet to fully uninstall, so perhaps there is a problem with the 2 AFCADs getting along, so I won't blame this problem on the new version just yet, still more testing to do regarding that. I began at dawn, took a quick look around and there were things I liked a lot, and disliked, the animated vehicles that scamper about the aprons hunting for aircraft were very well lit, the headlights were excellent; Then there was the abyssal darkness found here and there, for such a large airport I was expecting more light, what was lit, was lit well but I was hoping to see some more interesting night lighting effects, none to be found it seemed; The terminals themselves were only marginally better than their predecessors from 4 years ago, nothing wrong with them, but room for improvement; The airport background has clearly been updated in most areas, a very welcome site and one that I enjoyed very much, very well done and it certainly improves the overall appearance of the airport from the air; The new international terminal has been included, and I have honestly not seen any photos of this as it stands in the real world (just haven't been bothered to look tbh) - it looks pretty good in the scenery, the apron left room for improvement, seems quite bland and wanting of additional detail; The modelling is good, background imagery is quite poor, I found this quite surprising; As I mentioned earlier, the updated background imagery in most areas looks very good, I really wish they had done more with the taxiways, runways and aprons though, all of which have this bland appearance which could easily be rectified with just a few HD textures; My frames were not terrific, I typically see 45+ with FlyTampa, FSDT, LatinVFR, Tropicalsim etc. and here I was looking at around 20FPS. Could this be the reason? I appreciate cars as much as the next aircraft pilot, but you would be hard pressed to find this many in all of the FlyTampa sceneries combined. Carparks on final, highways, the traffic holding short of the runway, I wasn't surprised to see less frames, I was surprised to see 20 less frames though. Well, this just doesn't look quite right. If they followed the roads it would look excellent; I am left with mixed emotions with this, I believe it is undoubtedly an improvement over v1- but is it a 27USD improvement? This is only 1 dollar and 30 cents less than most FlyTampa sceneries, and the quality isn't comparable. FSDT sceneries are significantly more expensive, nearly 8 USD, but the quality is once again, far superior. I don't think we will be seeing a new ATL version for quite some time, if at all, by any other developer, so this is it for now, and in that respect, I would recommend it absolutely. It is a commendable effort of a difficult airport to tackle, good effort Imaginesim. Can you see yourself buying this? Questions? Let me know.

Evening all.... I think sadly I made a mistake by buying KATL. It is one of my favorite airports and after downloading SODE, saw it as another airport worth having simply for the SODE jetways... Am I wrong or isnt the new KATL 2016 SODE enabled... If so, how do I enable it. I know that Tropical Sim's SAEZ was updated but you had to change a file in its folder to get it to work... easy process. Can anyone please tell me.. Is KATL equipped with SODE gateways? If so, how many? if not all and which ones? As of this moment, I have downloaded, installed and activated KATL 2016, GSX works fine (It is the latest) but no SODE functionality... No jetway animation at all.. Thanks Flyboy53

Tonight I flew the Rotate MD80 from Tallahassee, FL (KTLH) to Atlanta (KATL). I just downloaded 10.50b5 and a new update to Skymaxx Pro. The new X-Plane beta flew flawlessly for a beautiful flight! Sorry my FPS counter is in the corner...just getting an idea of performance. Everything flew smooth! Climbing out of Tallahassee RWY 27 - My route was ktlh.szw.warrr1.katl. Cockpit view of the climb-out. Rotatesim MD80 looks amazing. The sun has set and we are established on the WARRR1 STAR into KATL. Great night lighting in the addon. On the ILS Approach RWY 27R. On the chocks at the gate. I'm loving the new beta aircraft at airports. Textures and lights look amazing reflecting off GSE spread around the gate area. Thanks!

Prepar3d 3.3 keeps "forgeting" where the KATL scenery is
dva238 posted a topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Somehow Prepar3d keeps "forgetting" in the scenery library where the ImagineSim Atlanta scenery files are. The file location is never listed. Next time I loaded Prepar3d, I got this message. Eventually Prepar3d deactivates it. This is very frustrating. A manual install of the scenery results in no textures for the Atlanta airport area. Is there a fix for this? -
Hey guys So, in the continued search for a better FSX experience, I added some SweetFX tweaks to the Sim and came up with some pretty satisfactory results. This time I took the PA A320 (still learning how to fly the Aerosoft one) for a spin on Delta Airlines Flight 1407 between KATL and KCLT. Hope you like them Final preps before pushback Taxi to Runway 9L V1! Climbing to FL310 Starting the descent into runway 18C Lining up Quiet CFMs over the city Flaring ^_^ Almost there Opening up the flowers Parking next to some American mates And that's it! Still trying to get the best from REX Textures, but still I'm pretty satisfied with what I got. Thanks for watching! Next stop, Washington B) Addons used: Imaginesim KATL and KCLT Project Airbus A320 REX and ORBX stuff for skies, clouds and ground textures.
