  1. Hello there. I'm currently getting a total of about 45 seconds of delay from what I see on fr24 to what is displayed in the sim from RealTraffic data. Is there a way to force the buffer currently set at 30 seconds to 5 or 10? If not is there another way to display RealTraffic in MSFS with less of a delay? Regards Dino
  2. Hello people, I have been dealing with this problem for a very very long time. What my problem is, is basically that everytime I just pan around with a view in FSX (no matter which view), it looks as if I have some sort of cuts or cracks in the screen. I have had this problem for the time since I played FS, but since I recently bought a new computer, and I got a new monitor with it, I only started to really see it more clearly. I have a link to a YouTube video, where you can see what kind of issue I have: https://youtu.be/wSrObxJaJD8?t=2m33s Now, the subject of the video is irrelevant, but look closely to the screen, and you can see quite some lag stutters, with parts of the screen not bordering each other correctly. This is the problem I have been dealing with for a long time, and I would like to ask the FS community of how it might be solved. Regards, Raphaël.
  3. I have read many forums over the years regarding FSX performance issues. We all want our flight sim to run as smoothly as possible with good frame rates. For me, a visit to Bojote Venetubo's web site and a couple of Nick N's tweaks pretty much sorts out most of my issues. Recently I had to install a new hard drive in my computer which resulted in a clean install of FSX together with my many add ons REX, VOXATC, GEX, UTX, PMDG etc etc. After endless nights of re-installing I reached the stage where it was time to add some liveries for my PMDG aircraft. I have the NGX 737 -600 to 900 plus the 777 and it's variants. Up to this stage I had tried a few test flights and was pleased with the performance of FSX. It seems that a clean install was worth the effort after all even though it had never been my intention. I love to fly scheduled flights in different parts of the world using the appropriate airline so a variety of liveries is important to me. I installed a few from PMDG through their Operations Centre but discovered that FSX Liveries had an excellent choice available. These are all .ptp files and will install through the Operations Centre. I must have downloaded close to a 100 liveries altogether spread across all the PMDG aircraft. After a couple of days of flying, I noticed that FSX would hesitate for maybe a second or so every now and again. It didn't matter if I was flying in a straight line, panning around, internal view or external view, it would just happen. My immediate suspect was REX which can cause me some hesitation when loading the weather, so I took that out of the equation, then removed VOXATC and other addons until I was pretty much back to basic FSX, but still the pauses continued. I even took a spin around Friday Harbour in the trike and the still the hesitation was there albeit slightly less. I thought over exactly what I'd done over the past days and decided that the problem had only started after installing the liveries. It was time to dig deeper, I thought I'd check out what was going on with each aircraft cfg. For those that don't know, the route to these files are:- FSX/SIM OBJECTS/AIRPLANES/PMDG e.g 737/aircraft.cfg. Now a typical aircraft.cfg file is normally 25 to 50kb in size, when I looked at the 737 files they were anything between 25000 to 30000kbs in size! up to a thousand times larger than they should have been! Now that's enough to slow anything down! A normal file is about 25 lines long and ends in the line visual_damage=0. After this line for every livery I had installed was written "For more PMDG liveries look at www.fsxliveries.com livery painted by Wizzardos (2013)" Now, I'm all for some advertising, but this phrase was literally repeated several thousand times, pages and pages of scrolling until I finally reached the livery below. It took me hours and hours of deleting, removing these surplus lines until each file was reduced to the size it should be. Once this was done FSX works perfectly, no more hesitation or stuttering. Now I don't know if multiple downloads caused this to happen, or whether FSXliveries adds these lines intentionally (I wasn't aware of such a problem when I'd been adding liveries piecemeal before) but I all do know is it solved my problem. Sorry FSXliveries, I love your products and have no complaint about the quality of the liveries. I would add that liveries provided by PMDG do not cause any problems. I did much research hoping to find an answer to my dilemma and found nothing remotely like what I've described above so I thought that it was only fair to share this in the forum in the hope that it will help some of you. Now I fully appreciate that most of you have the normal frame rate issues and are always looking for ways to improve performance, so this probably won't be of much use unless you are a livery hoarder like me! But even if you only have 10 liveries in your collection you might be surprised to find some monster files lurking in your aircraft.cfgs. Just reducing those could add a little bit more smoothness. I'd be interested to hear your feedback to know if this has been useful.
  4. Hello, been using FSX for a few years now and keep having the odd problem with it, but usually managing to fix it. This time, i'm having to post a question of my own because I can't find a solution elsewhere. As far as I know, this hapens with any aircraft, in any location. What happens is that whilst running the sim, whether taxiing or flying or whatever, it keeps freezing completely for a few seconds at a time, then it all continues again. The only thing I can think of to compare it to is like a video stopping to buffer. (I'm not saying that's the cause, it's just a comparison). Any ideas? PC specs: Windows 7 64bit Intel i7-3930k CPU 16.0GB RAM Nvidia GeForce GTX 650Ti GPU Running FSX with Acceleration In case it makes a difference; i use REX essential plus with overdrive, and UK2000 Heathrow scenery, but i've used these for a while with no problems, so I don't think it's that. Also, if i open a second view window (picture in picture style), I get some very odd wall-like textures glitching about on the second view window, which is another issue I'm having. Thanks EDIT: After a bit of playing around with settings, i've fixed the issue now. In case anyone else gets this issue, mine was fixable by removing the framerate limit on Nvidia inspector.
  5. Hi and happy holidays, guys! Recently I've had big problems loading Avsim pages. I often get "504 service unavailable", especially during the evening (CET). I live in Norway, Europe. I've read on the norwegian flightsim webpage that there are several others who also experience this problem. Is there anything we can do, and are Avsim staff aware of this? In any case, I wish you all a happy near year, and thanks for making my hobby more interesting! Andreas Stangenes
  6. Hi, I recently overclocked my i7 2600k to 4.5GHz. I also have a Nvidia GTX 570 and 8GB RAM. I am surprised at the performance I am getting in FSX (despite trying FSX cfg tweaks and the FSX Guide in this forum) which Is poor. Running the PMDG 737NGX at UK2000 Glasgow only gives me approximately 18FPS. I was hoping to maintain a steady 30FPS. Is there anything I could do to increase performance in FSX? Kriss
  7. I recently downloaded HJG's L-1011-1 and installed it. Later I flew the aircraft and major lag issues occurred, which have never occurred with me before. Can someone tell me what I may have done wrong?
  8. Good evening, I'm having some performance issues while running the 737NGX in VC. I'll give you the most details as I can so you can really understand the problem. My system specs first (it's a brand new PC): -Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V -CPU: I7-2600K @3.4 Ghz -GPU: Gainward GTX570 -RAM: Gskill 8GB (4+4 Dual channel) -System SSD: Corsair Force GT 60GB -HDD where FSX is stored: WD 1TB -Power Supply: Corsair 850W The only addon I've been running with the 737NGX is REX 2.0. I've played the first PMDG tutorial with low traffic and clear skies and during the flight I've experienced very low FPS in VC, in a range from 13 to 22, with occasional peaks of 30 (I have set 30 FPS limit whit nVidia Inspector). When in external view, I always get 30 FPS. Before using nVidia Inspector i used to make my tests in LIPZ and I could see that FPS in VC were the same, while in external view were about 45-50 FPS (not having the FPS limiter). I've already modified my FSX.cfg with the Venetubo tool, but I couldn't get appreciable results. Here is how I set it, I think I did it right: I have also followed all the instructions for best performance written within the NGX Introduction manual. Now, the main question is: is it normal to get that low performance with that settings with such a high-end system? I ask you because I want to know if overclocking is the only way out. Cheers, Gianluca De Angelis
  9. recently fsx has been very laggy i dont really think its always been like that, what could be the problem? it lags even when i try lowering some of the settings. i have a fairly mid-high end laptop: DELL INSPIRON 15R SE windows 8.1 64bit intel 3632qm 2.2-3.2ghz 8gb ram radeon hd 7730m
  10. Hello, Please help me find my FSX bottleneck. Everything is fine mid air but when my plane is moving through a downloaded detailed scenery (f.e. Aerosoft airports) it gets really laggy. MBO: ASROCK 970 PRO 3 R2.0 CPU: AMD FX X6 66300 3.5GHZ, SIX CORE VGA: RADEON R9 390X, 8GB DDR5 HDD: SEAGATE ST1000DM003, 7200RPM RAM: 8GB, DDR3 OS: Win 10, 64bit I've read countless posts and some of them suggest that FSX has trouble utilizing multiple AMD cores. Correct? If yes, any way I could fix that? Thank you!
  11. Is there anyway to fix the lag caused by this airplane, all my other add on planes work fine, but this one always drops. I think that most of the lag is coming from the efd 1000. If you have a Bonanza A36 and know how to fix it, please tell me.
  12. Hello, I just upgraded my processor from intel pentium G3240 to i7 4790 but I got this "camera lag" with low FPS which I showed in this video: https://youtu.be/ryCSQFvLArQ Lists of things I have done: - Reset BIOS Settings - Rebuild fsx.cfg - Reapplying tweaks based on Word Not Allowed's guide here: ##### - Reset NVIDIA Inspector settings to default - Changing my affinitymask number to 14, 84, and 252 Any help would be very much appreciated, Thank you
  13. When i do quick rudder movement/casting, my game drops from 25-35 fps to 8-12. ONLY when i move my yoke. Here is gif were i move my rudders compared to when i dont. You can see the fps counter either in the top left corner (default fsx fps counter). The first part of the gif i dont move the yoke, the last part i move all my rudders at once (it really ######s up everything): https://gyazo.com/1c269b5895aba35e6ac2f09f1ef554e3 Please help ;-;. Best regards: ´Tor Edit: i have tried all the different types of 737s, they all do it Even more edits: Just found out it does the same on the 777, its does not do it on any other aircrafts, nor the JS41. These are my specs: I7 4720HQ GTX 980M 8GB 1600 MHz ram FSX installed on SSD All drivers are up to date, including BIOS and chipset, everything...
  14. So, I had x plane 11 on my laptop: CPU: 1.8 GHz RAM: 8gb 750gb HDD And I just switched it over to my desktop: CPU: 3.8 GHz RAM: 8gb 1tb HDD, newly formatted and a brand new install of windows 10 * My desktop does not have an upgraded graphics card nor does my laptop * All settings are on minimum I have not run any tests on my desktop yet to see the usage of the cpu and other items. I dont believe my cpu is overheating because everything else runs perfect. This just doesnt make sense to me. I can actually fly a plane on my laptop with a slower processor, but not on my desktop with the same RAM and nearly twice the processing power. Any ides are welcome. Id rather not shell out extra cash for a graphics card, but I might be willing to purchase more RAM.
  15. Good day folks, I am a bit new and ready to purchase the program. However there are a few things I am concerned about before I put out the money! First I would like to say this is one of the best ATC options that I have found out there, Bar None! The flight planer is awesome. The SayIt feature is real nice to have. The moving map is a very nice touch to have as well to follow along on your flight!!! So thanks so much for all the hard work that has been put into this amazing product. With the Roses said, now the Thorns.... I have built a fairly new computer with amazing hardware. The specs will be below with pictures. First problem I am having is the program tends to lag/hiccup/pause then catch back up from time to time. The length of the hiccup tends to be varied times from just a few seconds to four or five minutes. Hence, after a longer pause, I will experience several ATC calls one right after another for various course, altitude or sped adjustments or radio freq changes ect. This problem is baffling! Second, Speech recognition seems to mot work at all. I am able to use Speech recognition in any other program I use it in. When I have tried to use the Grammar Helper, I all ways get a return of "FullTxt:) and it is blank afterwards. Here is a link to the picture of my computer: http://www.overclock.net/image/id/13085748/width/900/height/900/flags/LL My specs are as follows: Phanteks Enthoo Primo White Aluminum MSI X370 XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM MoBo AMD Ryzen 1800x 32 Gb (4x8 Gb) G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 ArcticStorm EVGA SuperNOVA 80+ PLATINUM 1000W WD Blue M.2 1TB Internal SSD Solid State Drive Mount-It! Triple Monitor Stand w/ 3x Asus VS239H-P 23-Inch Full HD 1920x1080 Custom Water Loop with parts from EK Water Blocks EK-CoolStream XE 360 (Triple) EK-CSQ Plug G1/4 - Black EK-HDC Fitting 16mm G1/4 - White EK-Supremacy EVO White Edition EK-XTOP DDC 3.2 PWM Elite - Plexi (incl. pump) EK-RES X3 250 - White EK-Vardar F4-120ER (2200rpm) White EK-HD Tube D.I.Y. Kit 10&12mm EK-HD PETG Tube 12/16mm As you can tell this was built with Flight Sims in mind!! I have setup my speech rec with windows and have had no issues with speech in any other program or with windows itself. I use a Turtle Beach PX22 headset and microphone combo. In closing I want to thank ev1 in advance for there replies. Thanks, John
  16. Hey guys, I am currently running an i5 3570k @ 4.4ghz and getting around 25 - 30 FPS on the ground / low altitudes and well into the 40's in the air. My question is if I overclock to a higher GHz, will the performance increase? My PC Specs are as follows ... i5 3570k @4.4 GHz currently sitting around 63 degrees celcius on 100% load. EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost @ 1200 MHz 8 GB Corsair 1600 MHz RAM Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 600w CX600M Corsair Power Supply I am using FSX Acceleration pack and the addons I run are REX+, PMDG 737NGX, Airbus X Extended, UTX, and some airport scenery addons. I am looking to pick up Ground Services X and I have heard that was pretty frame rate intensive so I wanted to make sure I could run it before I bought it. I do fly on VATSIM sometimes so the traffic sometimes lowers FPS as well. My fsx.cfg is tweaked pretty well I would say so there isn't much improvement there. Also, would overclocking the ram add any improvement? Thanks for any help, Preston
  17. Hi guys, It's been a while since I was on this forum and I recently installed P3D V4.1 on a clean SSD with all updated addons etc... I've been having a tiny issue which is a LOT worse when on the ground, but I expect this is due to the scenery I have installed etc... however one thing that is bugging me right now is the stuttering / laggy mouse effect whilst in the air as well as on the ground. Previously, this never happened once I was up in the air at cruise, however it has just started happening regardless of where I am. I would post a video example of this but I'm not sure if this is allowed on here - please let me know if it is and I will edit this post with the video attached showing the problem, and my in-sim sliders as it might be easier for people to identify the issue from there. For reference, my P3D cfg is below as well: [GRAPHICS] SCREEN_CAPTURE_MAX_JOBS=10 VIDEO_CAPTURE_WIDTH=720 VIDEO_CAPTURE_HEIGHT=480 VIDEO_CAPTURE_FPS=30 VIDEO_CAPTURE_BIT_RATE=3200000 EU REX Textures and Soft Clouds GSX EZDOK Active Sky Next PMDG 737-800 PMDG 777-200 Base Pack HARDWARE: Microsoft Windows 10-Pro - Fully updated SSD for Windows and a Separate, individual SSD for P3D and all addons / scenery Intel Core i7 4790K Running at 4GHz 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 GPU At the moment, I dont have any overclocks on the system. I am trying to run everything at its factory recommended maximum settings to preserve hardware life etc... I also don't have any other modifications such as in NVIDIA's control panel, since these have not made any difference as expected to the performance for me. If anyone is able to provide some suggestions from the above I'd be really grateful! Let me know if you would like a link to the video I have showing the problem and showing my in-sim sliders. 18. Hey all, pretty much what the title says. I will do a flight from point A ---> B and my FPS will gradually start falling, especially at "the end" (approach & landing). However if I exit the game and load back into the destination (or departure) airport, with all of the same settings as before, my FPS is once again "normal". Let me give you an example: I did a VERY short flight (only about 1hr - keep in mind the FPS drop is similar during much longer flights) from LJLJ (Ljubljana, Slovenia - Scenic Routes) ---> LKPR (Prague, Czech Republic - Tailstrike Designs) with the PMDG 737-800. I have a very nice system (5900X, RTX3090, 32GB RAM, 980 Pro, etc. etc.). Anyways, I started with 48 FPS (I have V-Sync enabled and my frames locked at 33 % to avoid conflicts due to a G-Sync monitor) and landed with only about 24ish. After shutdown I decided to disable FSLTL traffic to see if I maybe just need to restart FSLTL Traffic. The FPS only went up to about... 30ish. I then proceeded to close the game and launch it, spawn back in with the same weather, settings and mods (yes, even FSLTL was active), and was getting 46ish FPS.. Basically, I'll usually be getting anywhere from 60-70 FPS with my FPS unlocked and then it drops to anywhere from 40-50 FPS with FSLTL Traffic (for most bigger airports), but never bellow 30 FPS. I try to configure my settings this way, but obviously I don't do hundreds of test flights just to see what kind of drop I should really expecting.. Does anyone know how to mitigate this "issue"? MODS (in this particular case): PMDG 737-800 Scenic Routes – LJLJ Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport Tailstrike Designs – LKPR Vaclav Havel Airport Prague FSLTL Traffic FSRealistic FS2Crew PMDG 737 SOP 1 Other apps open during flight: Navigraph Simlink SimToolKitPro
  19. Hi guys, So I'm wondering if someone can help me with this as it's rather frustrating with my PC which is more than capable of running P3D on medium to high settings. The FPS inside the cockpit of the PMDG 777 is around 35-40 FPS which is great, however when it comes to panning around with the camera it seems very "jerky" and stuttery which puts me off completely. It doesn't happen all the time, but mainly whilst on the ground. The only tweak for my P3D cfg that has helped so far is Fiber Frame Time Fraction 0.01. I have tried locking the FPS at 30 which makes the issue a thousand times worse, and only locking at 60 or unlimited makes it slightly better. I've tried enabling and disabling vsync and triple buffering which has very little (if any) effect. I have also tried enabling/disabling vsync, triple buffering, Hyperthreading and Intel Speedstep, all of which make very little (if any) difference at all... How can I get rid of this annoying stutter and get smooth panning inside the cockpit? The problem is completely gone when panning around outside the aircraft. Specs: Intel Core i7 4790k overclocked to 4.4GhZ NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM Windows 10 pro 64 bit Addons: Active Sky Next GSX Ground Services PMDG 777-200 (Base Pack) FTX Global REX 4 with Soft Clouds Any suggestions would be great guys! -Yorkie
  20. Hello, Whenever I do a flight, no matter what addon aircraft or scenery, at random times it starts to lag every second such as it freezes for a second, run for a second and freezes again and it does it continuously. I have tried applying around with the display setting such as turning Vysnc off or tripple buffering off and variable refresh rate on but the problem still occurs randomly. I have updated all my drivers to the latest version and have a GTX 1070 with a 75 HZ monitor. Please help thank you.
  21. So I have the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X for a joystick + throttle. It has a swivel thing on the joystick to pan around the cockpit, external views, etc. Just yesterday, it simply stopped working. The joystick was plugged in, I changed nothing. It just stopped working. I reset the controller and FSX + a restart on my PC. The joystick appeared to be working okay until I tried to pan around my cockpit. It now pans much slower than before. It's super slow! It appears to have extreme lag too. But when I hold shift and pan with the mouse, I have perfect frames! What could be wrong with my controller. Any insight would be great as I'm pretty lost here.
  22. I just did a complete FSX reinstall a few days ago in an attempt to get the sim to run better, and while it seems that I succeeded (it runs at around 30fps near large cities and airports, and at a steady 60 everywhere else - using various GA aircraft), I just can't get the 777 to work properly. In the exterior view, it runs perfectly, but as soon as I switch to VC view, my framerate drops to somewhere between 10 and 20. Now, I do understand it's a very detailed cockpit, but I didn't expect it to be quite THAT detailed. Even with ALL of the graphics settings either unchecked or turned all the way to minimum and with no traffic, I'm struggling to reach 60fps when sitting at some remote dirt airfield in the middle of nowhere. I've even tried to adjust the FMC's performance settings from 15fps down to 5 but didn't see any difference. Is there anything else I could do to get it to run better? Edit: PC Specs in my profile.
  23. Hi Guys, So I've recently bought Prepar3D 2.5 and already finding issues. I run 4 screens, 3 on surround on a gtx 970 at a total res of 5760x1200 and a small vga monitor on another card for maps. Anyway I get a lot of stuttering. I'm not finding fps very stable either. I have been streaming through OBS aswell which was part of the middle screen and at 1920x1080 res streaming. Anyway I use NVidia inspector purely to set fps to 30. I've tried just without any tweaks and with and still this horrible stutters in the vc and unstable 20-30fps. Below will be my current config. I also use orbx ftx global and England. System --=--=-- i7-3770k @ 4ghz EVGA GTX 970 8gb Ram Current config: http://pastebin.com/fUhTrLgj I must also mention all 3 monitors start at 1920x1200 Many thanks in advanced as I would really like to get prepar woking nicely Bradley I fly around England a lot. Home airport mainly Gatwick (EGKK).
  24. Hi, my question is, im wanting to buy the PMDG 737NGX soon and im not sure if my computer is fast enough for it. Computer Specs: HP pavilon dv6 CPU 2.40GHz Intel Core i3 6GB RAM windows 7 64 bit
  25. Hello. This is the first time I have ever posted on this forum. I am actully in need of some assistance. I have MS FSX. I am playing it on Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro through Bootcamp. The issue i have encountered is that when I am flying a plane (or just looking at it), the camera is very laggy and when I move the camera, the camera moves slowly. What is even more annoying is that in slew mode, the camera works fine! I am not sure what is going on, but please help! Aron
