  1. PMDG could you please explain this ....... It's been discussed before on the forum with more than one user having a problem with the L&T lights: it seems the AI-Object that is modelled for the landings lights has a problem on certain PCs. The first picture in EFB shows the PMDG 744 after push back with AI-object still parked and second picture you can even see the AI-object's NAV lights on the ground. Third picture you can see the splash lights on the side of the B744 but the landing lights are visible in the parking where aircraft was parked. I don't see that L&T lights are listed in the 'Issue Tracking Thread' and would just like to know if the issue/problem will be addressed in a future update? My rig: Win7x64; FSX Accelerator; GTX750; 16GB on i7 4790 https://imageshack.com/i/pntmXuQrj https://imageshack.com/i/podvCoyzj https://imageshack.com/i/pnew9Ltxj PS: And I give up with the URL picture upload if the notification says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community" - if it isn't *.png or *.jpg - what is it then?? I've uploaded pictures before in exactly the same way.
  2. Hey guys, how are you? As a 737 NG FS2crew user since the first PMDG version (later on iFly, NGX and now on Reboot), I have two questions that are bothering me during my flights: >How do I set the FO to trigger the transponder to STBY after the "Ok to clean up"? >How do I make the "Cleared" callout work again and the FO turn on the retractable landing lights? It's a little bit awkward to release my hands from the controls during manual flight (500' AGL on approach) to turn them on. Thanks for you help.
  3. Guys just searched around and found that the MD-11 doesn't like working with programs that muck about with the landing lights too much, namely in my case REX. I have uninstalled REX and put everything back to the original before I had it installed, can anyone tell me the file that gets altered that stops the landing lights showing on the ground, or even better send me a copy of said file because despite trying to rectify the problem I still have a big unlighted expanse of nothing ahead of me when using the MD11 at night! Thanks guys, loving the MD11 and this is all I want now to really enjoy my Fedex runs! Gavin Dresser
  4. I was just wondering if anybody else was having the same problem as me with the characters of the HUGS display disappearing behind the glareshield? I've found that this only happens when I've got the landing lights switched on.Landing Lights ON Landing Lights OFF Chris FSX SP2 Accel \ Win 7 32bit \ 4 GB RAM \ NVIDIA GT220
  5. Hi Bryan.First off I want to say you have done an excellent job with this version of FS2Crew !!!Getting the NGX was amazing, getting FS2Crew for it has been out of this world.I cant believe how well the voice recognition works with such little set up!Anyway moving swiftly onto my question. The first flight I made, the PNF turned off the retractable landing lights after takeoff, all by himself. Not sure if that was supposed to happen as he has not done it in the next 3/4 flights? Is he being lazy or did I imagine him turning those retractable lights off after take off.He does turn both fixed & retractable lights off at FL100.If you could clarify I would appreciate it.Many thanks,Mark :(
  6. Hi all, I have just installed REX and just tried to land at Sitka (PASI) in the dark, with no landing lights. Bearing in mind that this is the older Carenado Stationair, which I have not had any troubles with, I tried on approach to turn them on, but to no avail. The light itself didn't even light up, so it isn't a problem with the FSX setting allowing lights to illuminate the ground. So after this episode, I tried the taxi lights...nothing. A different plane...nothing. A Project Airbus A318-111 lit up on the plane itself, but the ground remained dark. I googled the problem and it came up with a REX problem, so I reverted back to my initial back-up files so that all textures were now default, but still nothing in the aircraft I tried. Then I looked at the aircraft.cfg files of my aircraft and noticed this in the Carenado 206: [lights] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing light.0 = 3, -2.97, -18.05, 3.45, fx_navredcarenstat light.1 = 3, -2.97, 18.05, 3.45, fx_navgrecarenstat light.2 = 4, -3.27, 0, 2.05, fx_vclight light.3 = 1, -21.1, 0, 7.5, fx_beaconcarenstat light.4 = 2, -3.2, -18.11, 3.45, fx_strobecarenstat light.5 = 2, -3.2, 18.11, 3.45, fx_strobecarenstat light.6 = 3, -20.99, 0, 1.98, fx_navwhicarenstat No landing lights anywhere - none of the lights are type 5, which is what I would expect? Project Airbus planes illuminate the plane itself, but not the ground, since they include a different file, namely fx_PAland: light.5=5, 12.570000, -10.48, -5.81, fx_PAland , light.6=5, 12.570000, 10.48, -5.81, fx_PAland , but even they do not show up. Maybe I am completely wrong, but I think this is where the problem lies, and that with all aircraft...! Help?
  7. Hi everyone, I've been scouring the forums here and at LM trying to see if anyone is any closer to fixing this atrocious dynamic lighting problem. LM blames PMDG, PMDG seems to blame LM, and meanwhile we can't get decent performance at critical stages in flight. I absolutely love PMDG, their aircraft as well as customer service, but until this lighting is fixed, I just can't fly at night. So, I'm either relegated to using v3 or x-plane. Where are we at with coming up with a fix for this? I remember one of the early 777 updates seemed to fix the problem but I think it was scrapped for some reason or another. It was too bad because I didn't have any problems after that update, and now I do, especially in the NGX. Please do something about this. John
  8. How can I use a hex editor to fix an .mdl file where the anti-collision strobe light has been erroneously assigned to the landing lights switch instead of the strobe light switch?
  9. When I load the PMDG 737-800 NGX, the fan blades and spinners in the engine intakes are missing, the beacons appear as steady burn lights rather than flashing lights, and the landing lights have different combinations of being on or extended (often different between the left and right sides) in disagreement with the landing light switches. I've tried reloading the aircraft many times, restarting FSX many times, restarting the computer, reinstalling the liveries, and even repairing the entire 737 8/900 installation. The problem persists. I've had the for a few months and did not experience these problems until a couple days ago. I've considered reinstalling FSX, but frankly, I'd rather not if there's a better way of fixing this. Thank you for your time. -Nathan Theriault
  10. Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with my PMDG 737-800 NGX SP1c. While taking off at night, with landing lights on and cabin lights off, as soon as I start lifting and the rear wheels leave ground, my landing lights turn off and my cabin lights turn on, spoiling all my night takeoffs. Not 100% sure, but I think this happens also during day, but I notice later on, when reaching 10.000 feet just to find my landing lights are already off. Any idea what can I be doing wrong? Thanks in advance, Adrian
  11. Any one else seeing very dim landing and taxi lights? My other AC seem fine, but, on the PC12 both taxi and landing are so dim I can't see 10' in front of the aircraft. Any thoughts appreciated.
  12. When most here are dealing with enlarged AI Traffic landing lights or lights that seem to hover above the aircraft. I am baffled at what has happened to the AI landing lights in my sim. They are barely visible head on at very close range. They appear to look like flashlights were attached to the aircraft. I have already replaced my halo.bmp with a 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2014 back up and no difference. The only thing I messed with recently is Zenertek (doubt that caused it) and REX 4 (thought for sure that was it, but the backed up halo.bmp didn't help) this is driving me nuts. The Shockwave Navi lights work great.
  13. Hello, I found several videos on youtube where you saw the reflection of the external lights (like the strobe lights) on the ground during daytime with the pmdg 737, but I can see them only at night. I know that there's an option for the pmdg 777 to do that, but I have searched in the 737's fmc options and found nothing. It would be great if someone could tell me how I can set it up like this.
  14. Judging by the screenshots shown by betatesters, PMDG has improved the landinglights on the 777 significantly over the 737NGX. Are there any plans to incorporate these new lights in a future SP2 for the NGX?
  15. Hi I have just installed the Fixer and it looks great. But..... My AIs does not have visible landing spotlights. Nothing. The other lights seems to work on AIs. MyTraffic 5.4c. Anyone know what is wrong? I have googled a lot and also searched this forum and can not find any clue on what might be the problem. Can it be the spotlight.bmp, I have found a couple of them with different date. In DX9 it all AI lights worked as they should. FSX Accel I5 intel 3.8 Ghz, 8 Mb mem Nvidia GTX 960 2Gb mem, driver 347.88 Win 7 professional I am a programmer/developer since 30+ years and I know FSXs dir structure and what is in there. TIA /Per W Sweden
  16. I converted an AI aircraft and made it flyable. Everything works fine for daytime flights. I am using a default panel and sounds, those work fine for a DC-8-71. I'm still experimenting with the lights, Right now, the Taxi lights only come on when I switch on the Landing lights. I do have them assigned to separate circuit #'s, but still need some tweaking. The major problem is the Landing lights show nicely from the exterior views, but not from within the cockpit. It is difficult to land and taxi from the pilot's seat (inside) at night. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this.
