  1. For a couple of years now, FS2020 has been behaving inappropriately at touchdown and at takeoff. Occasionally there is an almost uncontrollable skid at the point that the aircraft tires first contact the ground (or depart the ground). This is exacerbated if there is any crosswind - even a mild crosswind can be problematic at times, but add in a stiffer crosswind, say in the teens, then you're talking about tires running on molasses and wings lifting off the ground even with full aileron deflection. I would estimate that this has happened to me about 30% of the time - in other words, it isn't a constant occurrence. Many times touchdown was fairly normal and liftoff was appropriate, even with stiff crosswinds. Then there is the other 30%, where loss of control is severe and there is hardly any response to control inputs. Lately, things have flipped for me - my last 3 flights have lost all semblance of reality at touchdown. Crosswind strength varied from 3 kts to 16 kts. In all 3 cases. the aircraft skidded across the runway with a bank angle of almost 30 degrees - aileron and rudder input did nothing. I was not able to reestablish control until I had braked to about 3 kts. Fortunately, the aircraft was not damaged in any of these touchdowns but it certainly ruined the enjoyment of having made 3 good approaches, Come on ASOBO! This is really basic stuff. If you cannot take off appropriately and land appropriately with proper control response, you do not have a flight simulator.
  2. Name: PMDG 777 Autoland Category: FS Instructional Videos Date Added: 03 November 2016 - 07:16 AM Submitter: davidfein Short Description: Shows the details of how autoland works so you can duplicate solid landings yourself Learning to land the PMDG 777 was a challenge so I recorded a number of views of the PMDG 777 doing an autoland. Seeing the details (speed, decent rate, engine kill, flare details, etc) makes it much easier to learn to land because you have very specific things to model and practice. View Video
  3. Hi guys, as title says. Which is your technique? I have no problem when try to land manually after passed 1000' AGL, disconnect A/P and A/T and land safely enough. But if I want to practice manually all the approach from IAF to FAF I have a lot of difficulties to keep the aircraft on correct glide path. I try to maintain the G/S adjusting the throttle and pitch manually, but most of the times I am to high on final and with an incorrect pitch configuration. The aircrat upon on final regains altitude and I have to make a go-around. How do you perform your manual landing with this great aircraft? Thanks in advance, Ric
  4. Hi sir, I just want to ask a question regarding on my experiences with the ILS for your 777. Im having some problems whenever i go off track of the STAR so that i can take a shorter route but every time i do this, the ILS frequency disappears on my PFD. If i follow the STAR the ILS frequency is still on my PFD and it follows the LOC. One other thing, if i go off track of the STAR and try to line up on the ILS, every time i press the LOC, i can see a HDG on the bottom of LOC. I just want to know on how to do an ILS approach if i go of track of the STAR. I hope to hear from you, sir. Thanks, Francis
  5. Hey everyone, I downloaded Project Opensky's Korean Air 747-8i and completed a flight to Seoul/Incheon Intl. and as I often do, after landing and taxing onto the runway exit I watched the landing in instant replay from the external locked spot view mode, it was only then that I noticed a bizarre smoke trail from underneath the tail-end of the fuselage and also that my auto-spoilers had failed to deploy, because the landing went fine (although I did notice that it seemed to take a while to slow down to a suitable taxi velocity), I did not suspect anything of real concern whilst I was in virtual cockpit view. Can anyone shed any light on what may be causing the smoke trail and failure of spoilers to deploy? I've have uploaded the replay to YouTube (below) for you to watch so you can see what I'm talking about. Thank you in advance for your assistance
  6. Name: LPMA CIRCLING VOR DME 05 - Madeira Category: FS Aircraft Date Added: 24 March 2016 - 10:30 PM Submitter: Alpha Floor Short Description: None Provided 2nd video of my "Interesting Approaches" series. Today we fly into rwy 05 of Maderia, also known as, the "Kai Tak" of Europe. A really tricky approach (particularly when there's a crosswind) and I won't pretend like I got it right the first time Chart bundle for LPMA: http://www.ukvirtual.co.uk/dl/charts/lpma.pdf Also check here: http://www.rocketroute.com/airports/europe-eu/portugal-pt/plates-madeira-lpma.html Have a look at View Video

  8. Hi I find that when I have the landing lights dim when the panel lights are on. After turning on the panel lights the landing and taxi lights are again bright lights and inside the VC you can still see the landing lights. Darryl
  9. So i did a landing comparison of the FSL320 vs. the FF320. A sidestick camera is included in both videos. Conditions are relatively the same during both landings. Variable winds /w light turbulence. I made more adjustments than needed to show the differences in response and feel. Enjoy P.S. I don't intend starting a war over which is better. 11. Name: The Maderia Approach with PMDG 737 NGX Category: FS Instructional Videos Date Added: 27 May 2014 - 03:11 PM Submitter: Martinair50 Short Description: Doing one of the most dangerous approaches in the world on FSX. One of the most dangerous approaches in the world. This is exactly how the Visual 5 VOR to LPMA procedure should be executed. Please watch in HD! The video starts off with me approaching the Missed Approach Point (MAPt), you can see this point on the navigation display as MA05. From this point on I should have the runway in sight and the VOR part of the approach pretty much ends and I am fully visual. At around 6 DME from FUN at around 900 feet I should switch off the autopilot and start my base turn towards the runway, to cross the waypoint GELO at 850 feet. From then on I follow the approach lightning that brings me right in front of runway 05 of Funchal Airport. Thank you for watching please, subscribe rate and comment! 12. Hello! I have an issues that I never used to have......Once im close to the runway and all straighten up with the run way, the pink diamond starts to move down, When that happens, I press approach hold (app) and it keeps going low and makes me crash before the runway! When do i click approach hold?? When the pink diamond STARTS to move or once its in the middle? Please help! This is for FSX, ILS landing.
  13. I have been trying to improve on some of the landing light textures for the POSKY A330 and the Project Airbus A380 as follows, but whenever I alter one of the lighting textures, they no longer switch on and off with the landing lights (glare from the landing lights remains on the fuselage even when the lights are off). For the feelThere E195 I have also been trying to find any lighting textures at all which will switch on and off with the landing light and tail logo switches in the cockpit. POSKY A330 I am trying to improve the textures on the vertical stabiliser, which are patchy and inconsistent on each side - but lights cease to operate properly whenever I alter a file; Project Airbus A380 I have added a nice glare on the fuselage from the landing lights as there was none before, and have the same result as for the A330! feelThere E195 None of the standard or add-on lighting for landing lights or tail logo is operable by the cockpit switches. Whenever any of the lights are on, the tail logo is lit and the landing light glare on the fuselage is there regardless of the position of the switches or the status of the landing lights. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to resolve these issues? Regards, brianlr
  14. Good day! I recently bought the NGX 737 and I love it! I have 2 questions regarding it. 1 - Auto Pilot. I Came from using the stock 737 in FSX so I dont know what the LNAV AND VNAV do...I see everyone uses it in ILS landings but Im using to using VLOC and APP. Somotimes I click LNAV AND VNAV and i dont get a green light saying its been activated...so, how do I use auto pilot for ILS landings (NOT AUTO LAND) in the NGX 737? On a side note...where is the NAV/GPS switch so i can pick which one to use? 2 - FMC.....All i know is to set fuel, ground connections and a few other things like putting in the air port but i dont know the waypoint part since I never have any....I need to know how to use the FMC so it can tell me when to put my flaps and speed and all that.... Please send a link of a video or anything useful that teaches this. Its almost impossible to have a real flight without it. PLEASE give me a good starter flight plan for this so I can learn and last thing, SIDS, I dont even know where to find mine or what it is. Thank you In advance Mirakledba

  16. i tried 4 merge, all of them i got 2 erros: 1. Landing Gear don't retract after takeoff 2. Lights don't show up! the last merge i read in an older topic here, i was just using the pss .air file and .cfg file, just replacing contact points and lights section of the .cfg with the posky ones. someone got that error too? how solved it? PS: Using 1.3
  17. Hi, I currently made "the Step" from FS9, to FSX. (yes it took a while). I'm currently setting things up and getting ready to fly. My main aircraft will be the NGX, with CH Yoke and Throttle Quad, FSUIPC. After hours of tweaking, and not getting the reverse thrust to work with the "below detent" position of the throttles, I decided to assign reverse thrust to a separate lever. That works too, -when on the ground. Obviously, the throttle must be idle in order to apply reverse thrust, however, for some reason the throttle of the NGX "creeps" up to about 42% N1, whenever I try to put it in idle before, during, and just after landing. It takes a good deal of braking before the throttles reacts normally, and REALLY goes idle, enabling reverse thrust to be applied. And by the time that occurs, the whole point of reverse thrust is gone, as would the aircraft be on a wet and short runway. In FSUIPC, I have disabled the reverser option in my throttles page, and calibrated them to be "idle" a bit above the physical stop of the lever, just to be sure. But still I get this creeping throttle when airborn and landing. Any help is much appreciated! Regards Johan
  18. I stumbled upon this video earlier. Even though the 777 is such a large aircraft, it is amazing to see how gracefully the landing gear meets the ground. I find it hard to believe that the landing gear can even support such a large bird. Anyways, I thought I'd share this with you guys. Arzaan Khairulla
  19. Hello, Guys! I've made a picture, you can see below. So Question is that if plane lands at these five yellow lines spots ahead of two big blocks then what will happen? Please See image closely.
  20. Hey, I just got the PMDG 747-400X and I installed it, everything went well, no errors. I restarted my system after the install and then opened up FSX and selected the 747-400. I pressed FLY NOW and when my aircraft loaded it was like this: What is wrong with this landing gear? I am on the ground Another gear shot. Also, none of the control surfaces work and are locked in the position when no hydraulic power is available. All the aircraft's systems are on. None of the Panels Work, and none of the buttons can be clicked. The throttle also doesnt move when needed. Main Panel. Nothing Works, Nothing visible. More gear. For somereason, even though none of the control surfaces animate, I can still fly the aircraft around. So any ideas? I really want to fly this thing. I have been waiting 4 years for it! Thanks!
  21. Does FLIGHT rate ones landings? I mean apart from the guy going on about testing the gear and all that (isn't a good landing one you can walk away from, already?) The last three missions I have done (I only fly clandestine missions, now - I hate to say it, but I'm a bit bored of flying chickens and filing cabinets, and don't get me started on the nurse) I have had to do two, or in one case, three landings to complete the mission, and think I may have the answer (apologies if this is old stuff...delete the post, Jeroen) Having turned off the mssion pointer, and flying in inclement and changing weather, due to the often small and hidden nature of the strips, and notwithstanding the R key, I have landed somewhat "creatively" shall we say, like not on the centreline (cough) and perhaps a little off-kilter (cough - you mean like on one wheel, jake?)) and my prepare to land never goes away, and he never ends the mission, no matter where I taxi around to; so I do a go-around or a touch-and-go, and pay a little more attention now I know where the strip is in relation to my circuit, how long etc, and land "properly". The mission then completes successfully. I have tested this on a standard, non-clandestine mission and it seems to be the same - I thought this might be a bug (some would say it still is) but it looks like, if you don't put her down with a degree of finesse, you may have to go and do it again...In fact, I'd go so far as to say you have to land pretty bl**dy awfully to trigger it anyone care to test this out? It would explain a lot of frustration (but not the bad landings)
  22. Just a small video of my flight into Arlanda today. The cockpit video is live, while the external views are from fs recorder (replay). Unfortunately I couldnt remove the chocks on replay, so please pardon that. Enjoy :)
  23. I am very pleased with the NGX so far. It has great performance, no crashes/ CTDs and all the system work as it should (to my knowledge). But there is one problem though that I cant understand. During landing, right before coming down on the runway, the whole sim freezes for about half a second or a bit more, and then resumes without any further problems. This problem is first and foremost aesthetically displeasing as it takes away the pleasure of a smooth and perfect landing.Secondly it is practically very dangerous as it seems to activate, immediately after the freeze, all of the control movements you added during the freeze, resulting in loss of control. Why does it freeze/stutter like that? It seems like something (NGX? FSX?) is loading something to prepare for something during a landing scenario. Maybe there are some special sound files being loaded. Maybe NGX loads some special ground mode files to handle ground operation (like break temperature, wheel steering...) If this is a NGX problem then I hope it will be recognized as a problem and then taken care off. Robert
