  1. Hello everyone, the A.T.S. team is proudly to announce our next project for X-Plane: the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 & MD-11F. First of all let us say that we understand very well your concerns and doubts about a new project declaration when our first and actual project about the MD-82/83 is still to hit the market, so why we're doing so? Because the graphical part of the MD-82/83 is 99.9% complete: of course we keep that 0.1% for last minute fixes (if needed) resulting from the beta test phase and further upgrades, but there's absolutely no reasons to keep an excellent graphical artist doing nothing while I'm developing and testing the final pieces of code... looking at previous posted images all of you are now aware about the graphical level we want to achieve, and looking at the declaration date of the MD-82/83 project (April 2013) you can imagine how much time and effort is needed to reach that level. Other than that, for this new project we’re going to have a new resource for the art department and if things goes well we’ll have even a new resource that will help me with the code. Absolutely no time and no development efforts are, has been or will be taken away from the MD-82/83 project: MD82/83 has 100% of our time, now and mainly after we'll hit the market, so totally no worries about something such less support and/or loss of interest because a new project... for all of you should be now crystal clear that we at A.T.S. are not interested to hit the market as soon as possible with unsatisfactory products, our priority is to develop study level products and giving 100% support to our customers. Back to the MD-11, we already retrieved a good amount of official documentation and we're in touch with some active and retired MD-11 pilots that are interested to collaborate with us, so this is something whose foundations were already started not something that will start from now on... obviously there're no images to show right now and Parsec will need some time before to show something, but in this very moment we believe it's important to let all of you aware of what we'll create right after, and somewhat alongside, the MD-82/83. Thank you for your kind attention. Best regards The A.T.S. team.
  2. Hello, I bought a boxed version of your PMDG MD-11 and I have a little problem with it. I'm using Windows 8.1, so I already know that there are problems with disconnecting joysticks. But I was able to fix this bugs with a tool, so now: When I start a flight with the MD-11, after some seconds/minutes I can't control the throttle any more. This problem only appears with the MD-11 and only with the throttle, I'm still able to use the elevator or aileron. I hope for a helpful answer. Regards from Germany
  3. I recently purchased the MD-11 for the freighter and I can't hear any engine sounds at all. When in the VC, I can hear the packs, and all other systems that you can normally hear, but when I go to external view, I can still hear them and no engine sounds. Even when I go to AI traffic or different tower view, the sounds are still heard. It is quite frustrating because I want hear the engines. It is also quite unrealistic too. Even when I am in cold and dark, I still hear the packs and AC air blowing in. Help would be much obliged. Thanks

  5. Good day everyone, I am having a consistent fatal error with FSX, right after selecting PMDG MD-11 in the plane selection menu. The game is freezing as the plane attempts/begins to load the AIRAC database files. It never progresses farther than "0" in loading the AIRAC files. I have checked over my dll.xml file which seems to be fine. I am running Windows 7 Enterprise, on a Macbook Pro via Bootcamp. i7 CPU, 8 Gbs ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M Windows Event Viewer shows 3 errors. Furthermore, I do not have any problems flying with any other planes, default and addon freeware, pre-PMDG installation, or post-PMDG installation. Any thoughts? Cheers!
  6. Hey, I really have a big problem with the MD-11 on FSX. I installed this addon on my Laptop some months ago. I runs there. But now I have a new PC. After installing it I wanted to check out the LoadManager. I just saw the plane but without the seats of the main deck and the Cargo deck without the boxes. The LoadManager was unable to change any weights. I don't know why. Then I thought I try to load and to fly the plane first. But then after choosing the aircraft it loads and loads. There was no plane to see on the page. It was just black. Then I waited a while and then I became the message: It is a fatal error occurred. FSX was automaticilly closed. It uninstalled the addon a lot of times but there was always the same problem. I flew another plane first. Then I checked the menu bar. When I opened the addon file there was no PMDG file to see. PLEASE HELP! I would realy appreciate that!:)

  8. I wish Mr. Ruth would undertake an MD-11 complete with a virtual cockpit - he did such a good job of the DC10.
  9. Hi, I've recently upgraded to FSX Gold Edition. I've got the PMDG MD-11 combo version and really enjoyed this bird on FS9. I've decided to make my simming a bit more realistic by building a throttle quadrant (very basic) for the MD-11. I was able to use FSInterrogate to find 3 offsets which I was able to use to figure out the logic for when the autothrottles are engaged or not. These offsets are however not visible in FSX or they are completely different. Now before I get stoned for asking about offsets for the MD-11... I know the issues around this. (more or less) But, why were these 3 offsets findable in FS9 but not FSX? Are there any chances to provide just the offset(s) required for seeing when the autothrottles are engaged or not? Hell, I'll even pay for them. My motorised MD-11 throttle quadrant is now pretty useless (lifeless). And I honestly don't want to go back to FS9. Any info would be greatly appreciated. PS: If you want me to provide the 3 offsets used in FS9 then I can... just thought it might be against the rules to post them here. Thanks and regards Jean Joubert
  10. Hello fellow simmers! I recently bought the PMDG MD-11, and I've got to say, it's an amazing aircraft. I absolutely love the way it handles and all of the systems. But now.. I found out that after programming the FMC, starting the engines etc. and getting ready to depart (which takes about 20 ~ 30 minutes), the game just freezes, my cursor changes into a the hourglass icon, the screen goes white and a new window comes up saying "A fatal error occured" and "Restarting Flight simulator X" (Or FSX.exe, not sure since I'm not planning to do all this again just to get that error again.. ). This is very frustrating since I just want to land this thing instead of programming/taxiïng and not even being able to actually fly it. I hope someone can help me out! Other installed FSX addons: PMDG 737NGX (with 737/736 expension), PMDG 747-400, CLS a340, Aerosoft Airbus Extended X, CS 777, CS 767, CS 757, FSrecorder, FSDT GSX (demo version), EZDok and World of AI. Yes I have put a lot of money in my hobby and I'm planning to keep doing this. :-) And could there be an addon conflict? I am running FSX on Windows 8.1 64 bit version, compatibility mode set to Windows XP (SP3) for FSX. Greetings!
  11. Dear all, I just download PMDG's MD-11 last night and when I install the aircraft it apears with problems in external model as shown in the picture below. The tail and parts of both engines simply dispear in the external model. I´ve already try to re-install the aircraft but the problem persists. Does anybody knows how to fix it? Thank you! Raphael Martello
  12. Hi, I've recently upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and have been flying the 737NGX for quite a while without any major issues. Ending a flight in the 737NGX with ESC results in a FSX CTD. I simply press CTRL-C to exit straight out of FSX. No CTD. Anyhow, let's move on to the MD-11. A couple of days ago I decided to install my MD-11 again. All went fine with the installation and activation until I selected the MD-11 in FSX under Free Flight. The usual "AIRAC loading" screen which pops up when you select the MD-11 didn't show. Clicking on Fly Now placed me inside a "Cold and dark" cockpit, with a twist. Everything was dead... displays, controls, sound... everything. I then decided to check the MD-11 Load Manager stand-alone application. It crashed with a weird error. Here's the entry from the Windows event log: Activation context generation failed for "D:\Games\FSX\PMDG\MD11_LoadManager.exe". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="9.0.21022.8" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis. There were also similar entries for PMDGOptions.dll, PMDGEvents.dll and PMDGSounds.dll. Running the MD-11 inside FSX didn't produce any errors, but as long as you stay in the "dead" cockpit the Windows event log is bombarded with the above event entry... the only difference is that it's now referencing the PMDG_MD11.DLL instead of the MD11_LoadManager.exe. This led me to believe that I'm missing some Visual C++ files. The MD-11 installation did install some or other C++ redistributable, which was annoying as it was downloaded during the MD-11 install. So I have no idea which version this was. I assume it installed the 2010 redist 64bit. FIX: What I did was to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17. The file is called vcredist_x86.exe. This is the 32bit version. The MD-11 Load Manager started to work and the MD-11 came back to life in FSX. Just thought I would post this for anyone else who might be running into this issue. Jean Joubert
  13. Hi, I've had this happen twice to me already, and it has also happened to a friend of mine. I use ActiveSky 2012, and I am flying through bad weather, usually a thunderstorm, at cruise. I then get a message saying "Ice Detected", so I turn on the anti-ice, and the warning goes out. But then, moments later, I will start to lose altitude, and won't be able to hold speed, even at full power. I'm wondering if the conflict is with ActiveSky. Sorry if this has been solved already, but I want to get to the bottom of it. Thanks, Ryan
  14. I had a quick question. When I try to land my MD-11, the lcd flashes idle clamp and i am unable to increase or decrease the throttle. How do I turn this off??
  15. Hi guys, today I would like to install my PMDG MD-11 (boxed version), but I got the fail "FS9.1. missing, please install FS9.1. Update" (not word-to-word). But I am also not able to install the FS 9.1 update, because of "fail34", so what to do right now? I still tried the idea under regedit, but I don´t have the path called Microsoft/Microsoft Games/FS9. I am just wondering because on friday I just had a nice flight with the MD-11, but today I got a fail and want to re-install it. Now I got all these fails... Anybody has an idea? Thank you very much for your help! :-) Best Regards, Sebastian
  16. Hello Community! MD-11 is getting attention again! This is good news. it is a show to the makers of this noble aircraft, that they really did something right. Even after so many years of its publication, it is still in good use of the simmer community, including me. I just love that aircraft! I was wondering, where should I write, or from whom could I could request a weather radar integrated into the MD-11 cockpit, like they have in the B737- and B777- series? I am sure that that little extra detail would boost up it's sales, as well as ASN's sales.
  17. I apologize in advance if someone has posted this before (I thought I remember reading it a long while ago but searched and couldn't find it), but I am having the following issue... As I am approaching localizer capture, as soon as I press the APPR/LAND button on the MCP (I usually do this when the localizer beam is one dot or less off) the aircraft suddenly and over-dramatically banks towards the localizer beam (causing it to go past it) then back in the other direction before finally intercepting it (i.e., if the beam is slightly off to the left and I am turning right to intercept, as soon as I press APPR/LAND instead of continuing the right turn and intercepting the aircraft suddenly banks to the left "towards the beam," overshoots it, then banks dramatically back to the right.) I assume this is an issue and the real aircraft does not do this? I have never noticed this with any other addons, including other PDMG addons. Thanks Michael Demers
  18. Dear simmers, I have played a lot with the PMDG MD11 and its quite fun to fly ( even if its hard to :P ). Now I want to take it to a next level and make something from the MD11 cockpit. I want to build a Throttle Quandrant to add more realism to the flight. I have searched and searched and came up empty. I have really found nothing related to the dimensions or structure of which the MD11 throttle quandrant is built of. Im doing this as a summer project with a friend of mine who is going to build the throttle quandrant of a Boeing 737. Im hoping you guys could help me in any way possible because the summer is getting closer :P Hope to hear you soon Any help is welcome Greetings FOwout
  19. I have installed the PMDG MD-11 aircraft into Prepar3D. I did this by fixing the FSX registry entry to point to P3D. It works very well, up to a point. So far, P3D has crashed 93 and 105 minutes into the flight (the first time with REX 2 connected, and the second time without). Has anyone else seen this behaviour and/or knows how to avoid this?
  20. Fellow Captains, I created a package with EZDOK profiles for the passenger versions of the following PMDG aircraft: * MD-11 * 737 NGX * 747-400X * 777-200LR * 777-300ER - They all include walkaround , cabin and cockpit jumpseat views. - The 747-400X profile may be practical as a starting point for an EZDOK profile for the new PMDG 747 v3. I intentionally didn't create in-your-face superzoomed views, but kept the viewing angles as natural as possible, as seen from the pilot's viewpoint. So these views are not 2d panel replacements. However, you can make these yourself of course by simply adjusting the views I created, or create new ones. The big advantage of my views - as opposed to the default PMDG views - is that I zoomed in to 90% while still maintaining usable views. With this 90% zoom the runways look a little bit wider and the buildings appear closer to your aircraft and less distorted. Also the round parts of the cockpit look a bit less oval. Good to know: These profiles are made at EHAM (Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, The Netherlands) so at EHAM you'll sit in the middle of your chair with the yoke centered. However, when you load the aircraft at another airport the views may shift slightly due to the way FSX handles views. One disadvantage of this is that sometimes the knobs may become unusable because your mouse won't change into a hand anymore. I did some testing at various airports to make sure that you haven't got this problem in most parts of the world: FACT (South Africa) PANC (Alaska) SECA (Quito, on the equator) WSSS (Singapore, on the other side on the equator) If the mouse still becomes unusable, you have to shift the views a bit yourself to make the mouse cursor change into a hand again. One positive side of this: you can finally use the [ Seat.......................Adjust ] checklist item and make small adjustments to center your forward views when you doing your preflight! Install: Just load the camera set of the corresponding aircraft version. This option is available from EZDOK EZCA 1.16 and higher (currently 1.18.7) TIP: In order to free up some available keys and prevent unwanted actions it is a VERY good idea to delete ALL key commands you actually don't use, both FSX, PMDG and other key commands. Otherwise you could end up adjusting the aileron trim while switching views for example (I speak out of experience...) To download the package: search for "PMDG made EZ" in the AVSIM library. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PS: Please don't ask me to explain how EZDOK works and how to create or adjust views. Just read the manual, so did I ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
