  1. Simple problem: when on P3Dv5, requesting the metar for Gander (CYQX) vPilot returns the message: "Network error: No such weather profile" Really?
  2. hello good night (on Brazil) i have a problem with metar (all world metar are wrong) on Active Sky Next SE yes i use FSX-SE the metar on Active Sky on SBSG (example of São Gonçalo Airport located on Rio Grande do Norte State/Brazil) SBSG 230533Z 18015KT 9999 SCT025 24/21 Q1012 and report in real time on the station METAR: SBSG 230500Z 24003KT 200V280 9999 FEW018 22/21 Q1012 another example of SBGR (Guarulhos Intl. Airport located on São Paulo State/Brazil) real: METAR: SBGR 230500Z 00000KT CAVOK 12/11 Q1021 (wind calm) and active sky: SBGR 230533Z 06005KT CAVOK 17/12 Q1021 i'm new in Avsim and my english is not good 😉 Note: All the airports with wrong metar... are the servers under maintenance or not? this is my question, during the day it's work fine. Or are the stations reporting incorrectly because of Covid-19? i dont't understand hahahahha if you can clear this doubt I am grateful I would not like to spend money for nothing
  3. Opened ASN this AM (June 6)and checked weather at KAVL. All METARS are headed by 28 and show (of course) wrong weather. FSX real world weather shows correctly (low visibility and fog). What's wrong ??? Dave Hinson
  4. Hi, Would like to ask if I am doing something wrong on that: Rex Weather Force now provides a metar_report.xml file, that is updated regularly. As I wanted pilot2atc to get the weather from this file instead from NOAA, in the WX tab of the options I linked to the directory (XXX:\rex weather force bla bla\export\ ) and checked the option to use REX. But... nothing happens. Tried different locations (in sim), did this on different times (in sim and in real), disabled UAC, started as admin, blah blah... Pilot2ATC simply doesn't show me the weather. ATIS tells me it's not available and the alt setting is always 29.92. The second thing: in the options traffic tab if the checkbox is checked, traffic warnings keep coming when taking off and landing or passing low in the vicinity of an airport. But if I ask for clearance to cross a rwy I often get cleared into departing traffic. This feature doesn't work (at least in MSFS) at all... 😞 and the third thing: How do I put "new" airports and airfields into the database? MSFS has many airfields that doesn't exist in pilot2Atc. I tried to run the new "makerunways" for fs2020 and then let pilot2atc pick up the date from the files. But I ended up in like 3 x 2 hours "reading data" with 2 x empty database in the end. The third time it obviously turned out better, but still no new airports. And yes... I checked the files manually. The airports are there... Any ideas how to solve that?
  5. Good Morning everybody. I don't know if this is the right place but I just wanted to introduce you my newest flight computer app, just released on the App Store both for iPhone and for iPad. With MyAeroCalculator you'll be able to: - get current METAR - get Transition Level (where valid), also automatically for Italian airports - barometric conversions - calculate Crosswinds and Headwinds - calculate TAS and Ground Speed - convert between °C and °F - get Heat Index and Wind Chill - convert between Km and Nm - estimate T/D and descent rate - convert between liters, gallons, lbs, and kgs The app can be also improved with further features, just let me know what you think could be needed the most! You can find the app right HERE Clear skies, Cristiano Esposito
  6. After two beta rounds with about 30 forum users, I'd like to invite everyone here in the forum to try out Ventura Sky, now that it is in a pretty solid state. Minor code editing is required during the installation process, that's why I decided not to post the file to the usual outlets yet. I am waiting to hear from Joan, if he'd add official support for Ventura Sky in his NOAA plug-in, installation would truly be plug and play, and that would be a good time for an official release. A user manual with detailed installation instructions is included and should do for now! Ventura Sky Beta 3 is free. It's possible to test Ventura Sky without having SkyMaxx Pro and RWC installed - it's fully functional, however, there won't be any clouds. Official screenshots in this thread: http://www.avsim.com/topic/494639-coming-soon-ventura-sky-for-x-plane-1050/ You can get the full Beta 3 package here, or if you'd just like to take a look at the manual, click here (Corrected) Here is a summary of what Ventura Sky can do for you: Interpolation of real-weather visibilities Smooth shifts (10m per frame in reference mode, 300m per second at 30fps) between visibilities reported by the NOAA plug-in, enabling a consistent, immersive weather and atmosphere experience in X-Plane. No more slap-in-the-face visibility changes on short final, or at anytime during your flight. Visibility limitation Solid visibility limit (25700m or 16sm in reference mode) below 10000 feet, independent from cloud layers (as opposed to standard X-Plane, where visibility will be set to unlimited once you pass the first cloud layer). The limit helps blend autogen and night lighting into the haze, increasing the visual consistency, and as a bonus, it improves performance significantly. Altitude based visibility at high altitudes Above 10000ft (in reference mode), your visibility will be based on your altitude, slowly increasing as you climb, decreasing as you descend. 100sm visibility will be reached at about 40000ft. Once you descend below 10000ft, the nearest METAR station visibility provided by the NOAA plug-in will be deployed seamlessly. Atmospheric scattering will also be interpolated during this transition. Sky colors and aligned lighting The Ventura Sky sky color set as been aligned with (SkyMaxx Pro) cloud lighting and improved atmospheric effects, creating a color calibrated, homogeneous atmosphere at all altitudes and all times of the day. The sky colors have been adjusted to give you a pristine, clear blue sky at the reference limit of 16nm, lower visibilities will gradually receive humidity.
  7. This AM - New Orleans KMSY - 1200Z : National TV weather showing 0.2 sm visibility FSX Real Weather showing 1/4 mi vis, fog Simbrief showing 1/4 mi visibility, fog ASN depicting CLEAR vis, - Flightsim also showing clear. What's wrong ???? Post submission: Never mind, should trust ASN. Weather mode was set to manual, not live. Should learn to check myself before asking.
