I recently acquired the latest mission pack from STEAM, "Arctic Rescue" (20 missions). When looking at them I found that the flight (.FLT) files were "compiled/coded" and totally unreadable. This is something I've never seen before. However, if you run a mission and save it, the resulting flight file is normal! Has anyone seen this kind of flight file before? Cheers, eskil

You will need to climb to 9,500 feet ASL to make it over the Sanetsch Pass, which is located very close to the Sion airport. Once over the pass, it’s a beautiful descent into the valley, where you will overfly Gstaad while maneuvering to land at the short runway of Saanen. You won’t be able to see the runway of Saanen until already on base, so listen carefully to the flight instructor, who of course is with you again for this leg. She’ll help you navigate and handle the radio, but once again it will be up to you to safely arrive at your destination. You are the Pilot in Command! Chris Klein - Vertical Studios View Video

Hi everyone, I fly FSX on a Macbook Pro Retina 15" on Windows Bootcamp. Everything works fine and I get decent FPS, yet I have an issue with sound. The music overlaying the main page stutters and breaks, and the voiceovers for the missions do the same. All other sounds (such as aircraft noises and such) work fine. Please can someone help me out?

I'm having quite a few glitches in trying to fly missions in FSX, mainly those associated with Acceleration. Is this the correct place to discuss those? One that is especially troublesome is that I have no communication at all with anyone - atc, the carrier, the lso, etc. The briefing for the carrier tutorial mission, for example, speaks of messages coming from the LSO during the final approach to the trap. But there is nothing - no text message, no audio. I'm sure it must be something I have not set up properly, but at this point I haven't found what it might be. I also have not communication from my wingman on missions involving two jets. I'm supposed to get some kind of directions, but they never come, so the missions always fail. Can someone lend me a hand on this? Thanks. Dewey

Now I'm an IT guy, not a coder (too sociable, no beard, and I have a wife :Big Grin: ) so i don't know what i am talking about, but Kevin MV Gibbage does, and I suspect some other lurkers here..Please note, Kevin; that bit about coders is a joke One of the things I like about flying is a sense of purpose. call me picky, but simply sightseeing is not always my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong..I love flying AK as it is so beautiful. I love wilderness, BUT I like to fly for a reason, and get the lovely vistas along the way. Reward-based gaming/flying, let's call it. It's why I play AH So, my point: I, and a few others were really looking forward to some location-specific missions in AK. SAR; relief missions; mining supply etc etc. This is now never going to happen. MS is also not, for the foreseeable future, going to relase the SDK. How easy, and how much access to the SDK would one need to create a mission? I'm guessing full access, but still asking the question..It would be great, for instance, if, as a gesture to the people who paid for FLIGHT and DLC, to allow say a member of the team to accept submissions for new DLC mission content? I dunno..I know FLIGHT is dead, and MS have left the room, but I can't help feeling that, somehow, there is some life left in FLIGHT in an ongoing sense, not just as abandonware... If a limited subset of the SDk was in place, perhaps even an online mission creator? I dunno..Probably loads more work for somebody who doesn't really feel the vibe... cue the "it's never gonna happen" posts Glass half full, me...
