  2. Hi simmers 😃 ..as it was in the good old FSX days ?? We will see what the future says, perhaps all the aircraft that CS have now provided for the MSFS in the form of good exterior models will now gradually be joined by the matching good cockpits - that would be great ! If you want to see the shots in the best resolution then please click on the picture !! cheers 😉
  3. This is about the closest you'll get to me flying an airlner in the sim hehe. I've been known to fly an actual airline once in a blue moon. I also don't like the typical big airport to big airport so I'm doing a private BBJ flight from Rockford IL to Queens (LaGuardia) NY. The route is KRFD ETG MIP4 KLGA at FL410 - did about 440 KTAS with a nice tailwind nearing 500 knots. Hope you enjoy these fancy schmancy "airliner-ish" shots 🙂 Parked at the SW corner we'll load via the stairs Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Up and away leaving this predominantly cargo hub Untitled-2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-3 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr This is KRFD by Xwind Untitled-4 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr View of Lake Michigan and the Windy City in the distance Untitled-7 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Climbing into the upper flight levels as we pass the Orchard Untitled-8 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Climbing through opposite direction traffic... can be a difficult part of the ATC job... as closure rates are upwards of 15 miles a minute Untitled-9 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Detroit on the left, Toledo on the right Untitled-11 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Cleveland OH and Burke Lakefront CLE/BKL Untitled-12 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr I really like this pic approaching the Allegheny Mountains - I'm a bit north of that so in the areas of Altoona, Phillipsburg, Harrisburg PA etc Untitled-14 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Turning on the STAR as we continue descent - I always wonder where everyone else is going... 4. Only one today, but i like it - on Aerosofts Oslo Gardermoon ( ENGM ) with a good working GSX profile.. If you want to see the shots in the best resolution then please click on the picture !! cheers 😉
  5. So now we'll set off from KLGA in our nice new Hercules. Oh what fun I'm having <grin> There she is, waiting patiently Starting up Moving out and away! Weather clearing as we move off north up the Hudson And on the western side of the river, just below the nose, is Nyack. A fine place to visit, and probably to live, too, with a really attractive arty enclave of shops and such down towards the river. I remember several very good secondhand-book shops there, where I picked up quite a few little gems on my two or three visits. I seem to remember that maybe the Prudential has (had?) a big data centre outside town? So there you go. Quite possibly more than you ever wanted to know about KLGA and my book-buying habits. Hope you enjoyed the trip.
  6. Hi simmers 😃 Some snaps from a livery i like pritty much on this A300-600P.. If you want to see the shots in the best resolution then please click on the picture !! cheers 😉
  7. Got this to replace my original FeelThere version. This version is quite magnificent, for my tastes. Beautifully modelled and nicely detailed, it really does create the vibe of a newly built/refurbished set of buildings. You can almost smell the paint drying. And the surrounding setting is quite splendid as well. I have a very full set of addons for the whole NYC-Long Island area (airports, bridges, DD's city, and other bits and pieces) and this is a very welcome addition to that environment. With the whole lot enabled and a heli or similar it all makes for a very realistic tour. Given my taste for ground level details, I spent several hours just droning around this airport taking snaps, and then took a brief flight out from it in the C-130 Hercules. I shall post two sets of sightseeing pix, and the third will have the flight out pix. Weather set to a bit murky, to add atmosphere, and all pix 4k and best viewed full screen as usual. Oh, and AIG Traffic in use to add a bit of life. Enjoy or ignore, according to taste! The approach to departures What I love about a well modelled airport is that it can capture the mundanity of air travel. Or at least that's how I see it. I'm sure if you don't fly / haven't flown much, then airports and flying are still wonderfully exciting things, but I burnt out my own excitement centres after nearly a couple of decades of business (but cattle class) travel. So my memories of it all are a mixture of wonder and wondering when the hull we're going to finally get to take off. And the airports themselves hold that same sort of mixed memory. Fond memories of some places and occasions countered by the memories of (not) sleeping on a bench overnight due to being snowed in at Glasgow, or sitting in a lounge for almost 13 hours at Copenhagen waiting for my flight home, for example. Which is why I bother taking shots like this - and this - This airport is populated, and with reasonable looking pixel people, which is nice. Never used KLGA myself, so no idea how busy it gets, but I suspect busier than shown here, although perhaps this is because it's relatively newly re-opened? Normally, I would say this all looks a bit new and shiny, but I guess in this case, that's pretty accurate and rather well done I like the setting here as well. Don't know enough about the topography here to know if this is considered part of the East River or Long Island Sound, but we will explore it a little bit shortly getting a bit busier in here now If you look closely (and same with lots of the pixel folk in this airport) it would appear that a lightning fast phone snatcher is at work at KLGA! Looking out from the end of this terminal And now, via the magic of pixel power, out in to that view and off to explore the waterside a little For me, the idea of just sitting in the front of your big tube and concentrating on landing the thing here seems an enormous waste of time. There's this whole fascinating world down here that is much more interesting than all those buttons and dials. But each to his/her own. I'm just very grateful that I can do this now. Been a long time coming, but now it's here - wow! Citi Field - what I believe was previously, or, I guess, simply occupies the same site as, Shea Stadium ("yeah, yeah, yeah!") We'll stop this first part here. Next part will head back across the river to explore the airport some more, and then we'll actually take a flight out from there in part three.
  8. Just a Little Trip...from Corona, CA to Winslow, AZ. Hopefully, you enjoyed these images, your commentary is greatly appreciated...Darryl
  9. Second set of my tour around MK Studios' KLGA. Just been out to Citi Field, and now heading back across the water to the airport Back to the terminal we left at the end of the first set Manhattan in the distance Back inside the terminal complex now and we'll work our way round to finish at the Tower One of the upper level lounges access to that upper level lounge And although you probably won't see it without a monster screen, in the distance awaits our Herc, and that's where we'll be in the next and final post in this set
  10. Got an email announcing the new Aerosoft Lukla, and went to check out the default version as I know it's one of MS' hand crafted airports. The Aerosoft version looks very much like just a few minor animations added on to the default, so for now I'll stick with the default. Probably not for ever - I'm a sucker for the likes of a few cattle wandering around the perimeter etc - but I'll probably wait for a sale. Meanwhile, here's some shots as a sort of balance for my recent KNQX post! Parked up in the Cockspur Phenom (another sale item recently). No idea if this would be a feasible aircraft for this place, and frankly my dear, I don't give a dumb. Weather not looking good, but makes for some fine views. Definitely a candidate for the "beam me up" approach. It's be great to beam in for maybe 10 minutes or so, just to experience the place, but actually travelling there? Gotta be crazy. These buildings and this weather make me think of a really depressing 1950s school environment here in the UK. Sort of like a mountainous version of Southend. Great to be able to see this sort of thing in the sim though. The wonders of MSFS again. And the view looking back down from those hills And this looks like a grey mess, but if you look on a big screen the light on those distant peaks is rather magnificent (IMO) The beginnings of a break in the weather in the distance Any sign of a frozen Julie Andrews? Hey, if it keeps improving I might be able to get out of here Not generally a fan of mountains (same with islands), but trying to spend more time exploring such places. In both cases, I enjoy them more up close, like in this set.
  11. Hi simmers 😃 Yesteray i did a longhaul from PANC to Seoul RKSI what took 8h 20m of flightime. The flight was beautiful with no problems with the inibuild A300-600 V.1.1.1 - just to say.. But before i had to do first some Aircraft Maintenance for this flight. Worker on the APU.. After all the work was finished the EFB shows this, i did Tires, Brakes, APU, Engines, the hydraulics were not necessary at this time.. Goeing out of PANC.. If you want to see the shots in the best resolution then please click on the picture !! cheers 😉
  12. An expensive week. Wasn't expecting this, but had to get it - been missing this in MSFS. Bit overpriced for what it is, but nicely done. Looks great and flies ok for a klutz like me. Single livery only, with a threat of livery packs to come via the Marketplace, but hopefully there'll be some on .to as well. Somebody mentioned the sound in another thread. I normally have the sound turned down quite low, but I turned it up to check this out, and although I have no idea of what it should sound like, it seems very quiet to me. I have a vague memory of somebody doing a sound pack for this back in the P3D version, but I could be mistaken. So, great to see a halfway decent version again, even if it is a bit pricey. Happy to have it, myself. A few quick shots, down from Orlando to Palm Beach Intl No documentation either. CS forum says something along the lines of it being a very accurate model so go and grab a manual for the real plane! Or to paraphrase - "we can't be *rsed to write one". Not a big deal for me as a committed non-pilot, the checklisty/pad thingy works fine for the basic animations I want and the essential controls seem ok. CS seem to be producing some ok stuff of late, even if they are still apparently focussed on charging a fair bit. I also bought their KC-46 a few weeks back on the Marketplace, and I may yet grab their KC-77 tanker/freighter from there as well. Won't suit everybody, but if you just want a basically flyable and well modelled Herc, it's pretty good / ok / a rip off (delete according to your own CS bias or otherwise)
  13. Flying from KOCF to KTPA in the FSW C414. OCF has a nice little freeware option available at the usual spot. TPA is by Verticalsim. Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr N110VE is a new livery from FSW. I recently gave it a big overhaul though with fresh paint/polish and some better metal qualities. 14. Hi all, found some nice and detailed scenery for the little archipel Helgoland in the northern sea. Scenery is by superspud, can be downloaded from flightsim.to. There are 2 islands, one is Düne with the airport EDXH and the other Helgoland where the village is on. Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas
  15. Hi Terry, here's some pix of the interior for you. Had to use the drone camera to get in there, but I will experiment with camera settings next time. Looks ok to me, but you'd know how realistic it is, I guess. Couldn't find any way to open any of the doors/hatches etc apart from the EFB. There is a "ramp open" button in the cockpit (second picture) but it's not clickable. None of the handles on the ramp or parachute doors seem functional either. So pretty much a "look - don't touch" kind of thing. Again, that's fine with me, but you may feel different. No options for any cargo or paratroopers as far as I can see either. Anyway, some pix for you ramp button in middle on right (Location is AYTI, Tapini)
  16. Hi simmers 😃 Waiting for my approval to start at KLAX.. If you want to see the shots in the best resolution then please click on the picture !! cheers😉
  17. First of three posts from an exploration around Sydney. YRAY is the Sydney Seaplanes package from Pyramid8Studios via Orbx, plus FlyTampa's YSSY and Orbx's Sydney cityscape. ALtogether they make up a pretty impressive environment. Unfortunately, a lot of the MS/Asobo PG around here is pretty poor, or at least it was today. I still never know if particular areas are just badly done or if it's just that the servers are having a bad day/hour/week or whatever. I spent the whole afternoon just pootling around, took literally hundreds of shots, but I've pulled out a few to share. Basic trip starts at the Sydney Seaplanes setup, which is very nicely done. Lots of animations and detail, and just my kind of thing. Then off to the harbour, and a tour round the Luna Park, which is also upgraded with the YRAY package. Again, some nice detail and animations but unfortunately backdropped by some of the worst PG I've ever seen in the sim. Impossible to get the sort of images I wanted without showing masses of truly awful c*ap in the background. Then off around Sydney itself, again, the modelled stuff in the Orbx package is ok but some of the PG doesn't bear close inspection, and then on to YSSY. By this time the sun is going down and the lights coming on. So at that point, once it was dark, I took a quick drone visit back to YRAY and the harbour to grab some night time shots. So spread over three posts, but hopefully some of you will enjoy the trip. I certainly did, and will be back there in a boat at some point. Anyway, starting at YRAY - Looks like a nice place to chill with a cold one (or two) I'll spare you any more shots of the crowd, so let's head off Didn't actually spot any sharks around here, but there is one later . . . Head under the bridge, and parked in front of the worst PG you'll ever see, is Luna Park amusment park I have a real soft spot for this sort of place, and the tackier the better. All down to being raised as a kid in Southend-on-Sea (a complete misnomer as it's actually on the mouth of the Thames, one of the grubbiest, muddiest, most industrialised (back then) and polluted rivers in the UK) where candy floss is considered a gourmet delight. So now, let's head off to the big city! One for any sports fans. Nice touch here is the changing display on the big screen in the cricket ground And to finish part one, off to YSSY
  18. Saw that EDNY was added as a hand-crafted airport and went to take a look. Grabbed the DO-31 but haven't read the manual yet and the buttons I had mapped for the Harrier and Osprey don't seem to work for it so I'll need to actually read the thing before I can do VTOL. But other than that a hot-start works fine for now. The airport and its surrounds look pretty good to me. Lots of the sort of detail I like. I'll shut up now and just post the pix. Suspect there'll be some good exploring to be done with this update. And the DO-31 will be fun once I've got my controls mapped.
  19. Just in time for the weekend, we are happy to inform you that the v1.1 update for the PILOT'S Boeing B-314 is now available. There has been an extensive overhaul of the VC textures, as per the feedback we received. We have also changed and greatly improved how the flying boat now handles on water, here is short video to illustrate this: A special thanks to Stearman948713 for his tweaking of some of the contact points! I'll leave you with a few screenshots showing the new VC textures. Jerome
  20. Couldn't resist this one. FTE's new Tornado, out and about over Germany. Chunky, but good looking to my eyes. Got the same sort of feel as the F-15.
  21. Just got the update for KNQX via SImMarket. Very nice, and a free update to boot! So this is just a quick drive on to the base and a look at what must be a really good posting for the folks there. Love the sign on the gate here ("No firearms allowed on military property at any time") - seems a bit counter-intuitive! I assume these are the accomodation blocks. Looks pretty acceptable to me! Another working day Just popping out to get some beers Had a few trips to Florida, always amazed by the sunshine (as a Brit, we don't get that sort of sunshine here. Ever), but a bit disturbed at the thought of some of the other weather.
  22. In case you’re not already aware, we have now released another update, PILOT’S B-314 - The Clipper v1.55 is now available! The PILOT’S B-314 for MSFS is now also available via Aerosoft, JustFlight and simMarket. The B-314 is now in the Marketplace cue, I’ve been pressing the Marketplace Team for a release ETA, and at present they are unable to commit to a specific timeline. I would like to extend a big thanks to FlyingsCool5650 for the suggested overhaul of the camera views, these how now been incorporated in this latest update! Through much trial and error we discovered that there is a bug with the Center fuel tanks. I have now recoded the fuel tank logic and replaced the two Center fuel tanks, the B-314 engines will now no longer suffer from any sudden fuel starvation due to the Center fuel tanks not feeding the engines correctly. I have also modified the Fuel Tank Gauge logic, for some reason these had originally been coded to a percentage value instead of a gallon value and thus behaved incorrectly. Many thanks again for all your valuable feedback, I trust you will enjoy this very latest update, our 6th since the initial release 6 weeks ago. I leave you with some shots of the B-314 moored at the magnificent Hamilton Island. Jerome
  23. Hi all, this short flight is my special little route to test aircraft since FS9. In those days there was nothing on the ground in between Pit Meadows and Bellingham. Than Holger Sandmann did a few lc files for it, was an improvement. And today we have it all photorealistic, great. Installed the KBLI airport by Fly2High because the stock msfs didn't impress me much and looks good now. The Bonanza comes in a nice classic livery by Ryan Butterworth, can be downloaded from flightsim.to. Thank you very much for viewing! Cheers Andreas
  24. Little known, because it doesn't exist. But it sounds like a proper 1960s limo, perhaps a signature version of the Super Snipe maybe. Anyway, just got an email from IniBuilds that mentioned the Horten Ho299 for sale. Had to rush straight over and grab that one! Always fascinated by some of those German WWII experimental aircraft. Nasty bunch of folk but they seemed to know a bit about engineering and design. At the same time I'd also spotted a payware version of the Secret Studio's Humber Bridge. I have the freeware version (from flightsim.to) and the bridge itself is fairly similar but the immediate landside scenery is new for the payware version, and it was cheap and I like to support this sort of thing. So a quick blast off from EGNT and up the river to gawp at the scenery. Not much flying, as is often the case with me, but I love the level of detail around this bridge package. And for me anyway, the Horten is a real thing of beauty. Dialled in a bit of weather I'm always impressed by bridges. 'specially bigguns! I'm obviously still well in touch with my inner child. Now I realise that if you're zooming past this area at FL200 and 300 kts or similar this sort of thing will be lost on you, but this is what makes the sim for me. I just love this sort of detail and am happy to spend ages wandering around with the drone cam exploring down here. OK, back to the flight I continue to be amazed, delighted and incredibly impressed by MSFS and the various bits and pieces available for it. The sheer scope of it all is incredible - pretty much the whole world available in this sort of detail. And I know it's all very much an individual thing and everybody has their own preferences etc, but I read (well, glance at) some of the threads in here bemoaning this or that developer and the perceived inadequacies of a particular aircraft or airport and I wonder if I'm using the same sim. We really have never had it so good! Although my inner cynic will now be waiting for a post from someone claiming how a real Ho229 pilot they know has stated categorically that the flight model of this thing is inadequate, and furthermore the cockpit switches are not making anything remotely like the correct sound when clicked. Hmmm, maybe I'll actually start such a thread and see what happens . . .
  25. I just love the PNW area... it's got beauty in all directions. I'm flying back "home" to Shady Cove from Beaver Marsh (2S2) in my Husky. Shady Cove Airpark (OG31) is payware (really cheap though) from Orbx. This is a lovely freeware paint from DarkAngel: https://flightsim.to/file/62421/asobo-a1c-husky-n859ds Leaving in the morning...
