I read somewhere that there are several different databases out there for the Garmin one for North America and another for other places in the world. How do we switch, for instance in my case To an alternate database that includes New Zealand? Or Europe, or Asia? The rxpGTN environmental variable Mentioned in another of your posts? I did read the 10 page manual and thought I thoroughly perused all the posts here on the RXP section, so if I missed it, my abject apologies. Also Will we be be able to import flight plans and user way points? By the way...nice hooks into Garmin's core! I was spoiled by F1GTN750 and frankly didn't want to consider flying X-plane11Beta without it... until I saw you guys had come up with your own code to exploit the Garmin trainer.… I moved from being a beta tester, to a purchaser and I am Lovin' X-plane11 now!...and very possibly considering turning to least at an oblique if not 180° from the outlandish investments in P3D and Paid DLC because of you guys...AHHHHH the trials of an OFAA* with empty pockets. Dingus and Eugene send their love. Chas *OFAA ol' fart Aviation Addict

This video is showcasing the beautiful landscape of the free (donationware) X-Plane 10 scenery New Zealand Pro created by me (a few months ago). Its my first experiment with a "larger" video, as I haven't done much (well, nothing) in this area before (especially as I am on Linux ... but I was surprised how polished video tools are nowadays). The scenery can be freely downloaded from my website: http://www.alpilotx....ew-zealand-pro/ Music is by Mike Andrews from http://audiofarm.org/mikeandrews. Titles are: softness strings and guitar

As every World Update(WU) contains a lot of POI's to discover in better object-quality than the regular scenery, also the latest WU12 offers a lot of POI's to explore, hereby 25 of them on 20 shots(=max. allowed per post). Click on each picture for the name(s) of each Point Of Interest in the New Zealand WU.

Here is a video I made this evening to showcase the magnificant New Zealand freeware scenery created by Alpilotx downloadable from his website: http://www.alpilotx.net/ In this video I fly the Carenado Centurion CT210M II from Milford Sound to Queenstown, New Zealand. The aiport I arrive at in Queenstown was created by the equally talented Chris K downloadable from the x-plane.org website. I recommend you watch my video on youtube itself in full HD. Please click to watch. For some reason I cannot embed the link normally from youtube. Please click the link to play. It took me 30 minutes just to get my avsim post to accept this link. For some bizzare reason, only youtube links are not showing up when I post. Anyway enjoy reason I made the video was to finally show off X-plane during the daytime and how good it can look! It's not only good for night flights! It's add-ons like this both freeware and payware that keep me coming back each day to X-plane 10!<br /> Cheers Steve

Evening Gents! I awoke this morning to an email from Ryan saying there was a new fictional livery that I might be interested in checking out... As we near the end of beta, I'm reminded what a fantastic job PMDG have done with the external model. The reflections, the subtle nuances of a modern day airliner, are all there. What a freaking cool-looking airplane. Enjoy! Not long now...

Finally went for a flight in NZ! And the ORBX scenery looks great! I did a fairly standard NZ domestic route, Auckland to Christchurch.

I've been getting into the Black Box Simulations A330 and A340 addon in it's latest version (0.81.5)... The developer has a bit of a history and the addon was mediocre at best in it's earlier versions. But it's pretty damn satisfying right now in P3D V2.5... Here are some shots from random flights. A340-300 Circuit Emirates A330-200 leaving Dubai RNZAF A330-200 MRTT flying Auckland to Christchurch Hope it's not an overload of Airbus .

The thing I like best about MSFS is exploring different parts of the world in different aircraft. For the last couple of weeks I've been flying in New Zealand. The country is absolutely perfect for GA flying, with its varied landscapes and challenging airfields. I was lucky to have fair weather for the whole trip except the final descent into Christchurch with a cloud base of 400ft and reduced visibility. I started at Kaitaia, the northernmost airport on the North Island. After a sightseeing trip around Auckland and a very hazardous landing at NZKE Waiheke (610m strip surrounded by thick forest), I followed the Eastern coastline for a while before stopping at Rotorua, then flying past Mount Ruapehu on the way to Wellington. I then crossed over to the South Island from Wellington to Nelson, then went south down the West Coast, crossing the Alps from Franz Josef to Mount Cook. Naturally I had to visit Milford Sound, and eventually I went all the way south to Invercargill then up North via Queenstown and Glentanner, ending in Christchurch. Departure at dawn from Kaitaia to Auckland in the DA62: Fast and low in the Bonanza V35 on the way to Waiheke: The stunning North Island coastline near Pauanui Beach Approaching Takaka, South Island in the excellent Van's RV-14: Final approach into Karamea: Heading South from Karamea to Murchison: The majestic Southern Alps on the way from Lake Haupiri to Franz Josef: Crossing the Alps from Franz Josef to Mount Cook: Departing from Mount Cook to Milford Sound visiting Haast, Makarora and Martins Bay: Crosswind leg coming into Haast: Getting ready for departure at Milford Sound: Over the remote wilderness of the Southern part of South Island en route to Te Anau: From Te Anau to Invercargill: Visual approach via Lake Wakatipu into Queenstown: Departing Queenstown in the G36 Bonanza: At Glentanner with Aoraki / Mount Cook in the distance: Over Lake Tekapo on the last flight, en route to Christchurch:
