Hello everyone, I recently got three cheap monitors and have set them up though nvidia surround. I have turned on wide aspect ration in the fsx.cfg. However, when I go into the sim, the center monitor looks ok, but the left and right monitors have major distortion. They stretch the image out, like a fisheye. When wideaspectratio is turned off, the distortion goes away, but then the sim is too zoomed in and with ezca at most zoomed out, the panel is still to big. My resolution is 5132x900 with bezel correction. How do I get rid of the distortion? Thanks in advance, 1251452 Also, when loading the some 2D panels in the ngx such as the main panel or overhead, the sim crashes. When loading the aerosoft, the cursor flickers between a pointer and a busy circle, which happened before when trying to load the ngx main panel (2D), rendering a massive frame rate drop. How do I fix this?

A lot of people fly FS with 3 monitors. A common known issue with widescreen monitors are the side distortion effect on the left and right monitors. While searching the AVSIM forums, it appears that a solution to this problem is in development for Prepar3D called Prepp3D. I'm not sure how it works but I think it involves some work with shaders. I think the DX10 Fixer does something with shaders as well. However I was wondering if anyone know if a possible solution to this distortion problem can be implemented using the DX10 Fixer? I did find one video on YouTube of someone flying 3 widescreen monitors and he had no side distortion. The user in the video says that he only changes zoom to 1.00 to fix the problem, but as many of you already know, that does not completely remove the distortion effect. I have posted a link to the video below. If anyone knows how he was able to remove the side distortion in his video, a suggestion on this thread would be welcomed. Hello everyone, My birthday is coming up and I have been saving for a three monitor setup. I currently have on my rig, an Intel i7 4770K @ 4.1, Nvidia GTX 750, 8gb ram, 2tb hard drive 7200rpm. When I first built the rig, custom for fsx, I skimped out major on the gpu to save money, as fsx does not use much of it anyway. However, now I am going to try to use Nvidia Surround for a three monitor setup. What I want to know is, how will the system react to the new hardware? Will I see a major drop in FPS in fsx? WIll other parts of the system react negatively? Also, since I am new to the entire field of three monitor surround, I plan to get the following monitor http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VA2037A-LED-20-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00AV4NXFY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1423955415&sr=8-4&keywords=monitor or http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C8T5KOW/ref=psdc_1292115011_t1_B00AV4NXFY A bit cheaper, (important as getting three means I save 30 bucks!) Which would you recommend? is the extra 30 worth it, or can I get the cheaper monitor for the same result? What I want to know is, is there anything wrong with the monitor, past problems, died quickly, uneven coloring, etc. Refresh rate and response time's effect specifically in FSX. Will the setup have problems like lagging, screen tearing (whatever that is), etc. Sorry if I am coming off as a noob, being my first experience with three displays and all. (I currently use two CRT monitors my school used 20 year ago!) Thanks in advance, 1251452

Hi guys! I'm happy to hear that the Aerosoft airbus has arrived, and I have a couple of questions I would like answered (if possible) before I concider purchasing it. If I posted this in the wrong section, or another topic of similar nature already has been made, I apologise. Here are my questions: 1. I am using nvidia surround to expand my virtual cockpit across 3 screens. Has anyone tried the a320 with a similar setup? Are there any known problems? 2. The regular a320 x had some issues with fsuipc making it a big hassle to fly because I had to treat it so differently to all my other addons (separate axis configuration tool etc). How compatible is the new extended version with Dawsons FSUIPC? If you could help me shed some light on these questions Id be grateful! Sincerely, Andreas S.

Something has gone out of whack with my Nvidia surround setup (GTX780 on a quad core with 16 gigs ram ). I origianlly configured my monitors so the main monitor is center and out side monitors are L & RH sides. 2,1,3 It works fine in DCS.. XPX was loosing my render menu off the screen due to me having resolutuon on span incorrect and when it went to full frame the menu disappeared off the bottom, out of sight. -- and I had to physically drag the airplane to the center screen out of full screen mode. ( this started last night ) It was originally in the center, TIR was a mess, and in span mode the view was terrible.. ( I did a lot of searching for that problem and will know if it works once I fix my current problem. In trying to figure out how to get the airplane on my main monitor ( in the center ... not on the left ) I fiddled with the Nvidia hot keys CTRL ALT 3 and 1 to switch back and froth from span to 1 screen to try and get my menu screen to stay visible and stay in the center - all good until I hit span mode and it's back on the left only.. The long and sort of the story is, that in 2D span, cockpit is on the left screen (only ) with span off it is in the middle screen.( but IIRC I dragged the screen there when I fired up XPX ) Something is telling me that XPX wants what ever monitor number was on the left as the main monitor - regardless of how I originally ( thought) set up the system to designate the main screen as center. ( I'm thinking it used to be #1.. but now it's #3 and something has completely reversed the monitor order - and thus swapped what ports display what monitor #) again, DCS aircraft had no problem landing in the middle of 3 screens - just XPX is not playng well. I would think 2.1.3 is is a logical position or what ever it takes as long as my main monitor is in the center and that monitor port is spanned. It gets worse.... Now when I backed out of x plane - my nvidia software is designating my HDMI port ( on right monitor ) as 1, the 2 on the left and 3in the middle. ( the order is totally screwed up from what it was ) or it wants 3,2,1 i can take my pick! i went into the windows monitor set up and things are all out of whack 2 3 1 with two as main display ( and I think it has moved 2 to the far left according to the screen icons ). How do I force this system to have the main display in the center again and have 2 and 3 on the outside. It has re-arranged my 3 monitor ports to a different order some how. And the HDMI port as a main screen is not an option because it is noticibly different in color and black level and never has been able to match the two DVI ports ( 3 identicle monitors ) - so I can live with it being off to the right, but having that as monitor port 1 that the nvidia card or software is forcing now is just not gonna fly! I'm sure some one has been through this mine field. I'd like to ideally have the order 2 1 3 and have the airplane in the middle and the wingtips out each respective window. I'd settle for what ever order I should have them in to have the span workl and XPX show up on the correct monitor - as long as it's not bass akwards in reverse order. I've been screwing around with x plane for a little over 2 days now and have encountered everything from totally screwing up my trackir plugin settings and not being able to get my aircraft back (I'm out in left field somewhere) to only seeing a shadow on the runway under me with cockpit 3d view and TIR and not being able to get in the cock pit at all ... ( even with the trackir plugin ). - To total screwed up position of the aircraft in span mode. ( I had just loaded a bi-plane and I have a hunch that might not have been compatible with the cockpit view and TIR ??? i did read about this also ) Regardless, even with a known 3D cockpit I am grounded until I figure this out. What do i do now? Thanks for any help. Wayne
