So I flew in to Barcelona today from Nice Côte d'Azur. A short hop and a very pleasant one in the mighty 747-8i. Arriving at El Prat I was pleasantly surprised with the comfort and the facilities. Want to hang out in the terminal watching planes arrive and depart? Latin VFR got you covered! 😁 Want to spend some time in a jetway, inspecting the awesome Queen of the Skies up close? No worries, Latin VFR has this and many other fun features at Barcelona Intl sorted out for you. Perhaps chill out for a while before departing for your next destination, talk to some other travellers or pilots? No problem! 😅 So why don't you hop into your favourite airliner and visit this iconic airport? If you do - you've guessed it - Latin VFR is ready for you! Disclaimer: This post is in no way affiliated by Latin VFR or their partners. I just like their product 😉

In my own search for airport glory I have compiled a list of Payware companies that I am aware of that make good quality airports for the United States area. I have no desire to fly overseas or in Europe so this thread is only for US airports. If you know of anymore airport makers and what airports they make please add it to this thread. Super high quality Freeware counts as well. FlyTampa ------------- Chicago Midway - KMDW Buffalo - KBUF Boston Logan - KBOS Tampa - KTPA (I did not include any of their legacy airports) Flightbeam -------------- San Francisco Int. - KSFO Phoenix Sky Harbor - KPHX Washinton Dulles - KIAD FSDream Team --------------------- JFK Int. - KJFK Los Angeles Int. - KLAX Dallas Fort Worth Int. - KDFW Fort Lauderdale Hollywood - KFLL Las Vegas McCarran - KLAS Chicago O'Hare - KORD ImageSimulation --------------------- Atlanta Int. - KATL Denver Int. - KDEN Charlotte Douglas - KCLT San Jose Int. - KSJC I am aware of BluePrint Simulations but they are off my list as I don't like it when people hide fine print and then when you buy their products they won't work on a 64-bit system and you out your money. No refunds. I also think their airports look to sterile, like a clean pristine shiny white hospital ward. Just my opinion.

To finish off the picture gallery of French airports - here’s LFST Strasbourg and LFRB Brest. Although my exploration of France 🇫🇷 is done for now, I’ll be sure to come back soon! Strasbourg is situated by the Rhine at the eastern border of France with Germany in the historic region of Alsace. It’s historic city centre is beautifully rendered by photogrammetry, where the iconic Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg is visible from far across the plains of Alsace. The airport has a single 2400m 7874ft rwy. Approaches to runway 23 (seen in the pictures) has nice views of the city, whilst approaches to runway 05 over the hills is also scenic but a bit more challenging. Both directions feature ILS. Brest is a port city located on the western edge of continental Europe in the region of Brittany (French: Bretagne). The main runway is 3100m 10171ft, and runway 25L has ILS capabilities. There’s also a much shorter 700m 2297ft runway. I first flew in to Brest yesterday in a Bonanza G36 Turbo from Jersey, in horrendous weather. Overcast over 600ft, strong winds and icing conditions made the Bonanza a poor choice (no anti-icing capabilities). In comparison, the outbound trip to Gatwick in the A320 was an absolute breeze (same weather).

Another French airport depicted in pictures! Having a blast discovering France in various aircraft. This time I've arrived in Clermont-Ferrand, which is another well rendered airport by France VFR.
