  1. Hi, I have the Bundle PFPX + Topcat, but I'm having a problem. PFPX freezes all the time I try to set the Aircraft Performance File to integrate with Topcat. I made a video to show what's happening: https://youtu.be/6oDkdJldo54 Anyone had the same problem? Any idea how to solve it?
  2. Hi, I export my flightplan from PFPX to: - FSX format (.pln) - PMDG 777 format Then I load the FSX .pln into ASN: I would have 3 questions: 1) I don't understand why all my flight plans have FL180... which turns to be the transition altitude and not the cruise altitude? 2) I know it's a dumb question but do I have to change manually within ASN: Cruise KTS, Climb FPM, Climb KTAS, Descent FPM, Descent KTAS? 3) I read that ASN has an interpolation feature. So I understand that it is capable of detecting the position of the aircraft. So why do I need to load a flight plan? Does it help to have a more accurate weather?
  3. Hello Guys. Well I´ve wrote an little software to help me to organize the gates of the airports that I use to flight from/to. I´ve called My Gate and maybe is usefull for someone. The software is a simple data base that help´s me to know what gate is set to that kind of airplane, if the gate is used to domestic or international flight, witch airport that gate is and if the gate is already configured on AES and GSX. In addition, I´ve put a way to see all schedules flights in your PFPX. The software is very intuitive. As sayd before, is a very simple software made by me without any help of beta testers, so, if there is any kind of problem, please let me know. The software is totally free and I only ask you to download from my webpage: http://www.spilfred.com/mygate I hope you enjoy and if you have suggestions please send me an email to support@spilfred.com. Fred Matias (Sorry about my english)
  4. This is a question for those who use PFPX and the PMDG planes. Recently I switched to PFPX for my flight planing, and I really like it. Coupled with TopCat, it really plans the flight using not just the routing but everything else in between. And then it exports the plan to my PMDG aircraft. But right now, I'm a bit confused about how to use this application with the 737/777. If I run PFPX first, and use it to populate the pax, cargo and fuel, then I have to go into the FMS and manually change the data there. OR - should I launch FSX and the aircraft, create the load figures (fuel, pax, etc.) and then go to PFPX and enter that data manually? PFPX doesn't differentiate classes or types of pax, PMDG does. So I'm asking if anyone up here has a preference with this stuff. Would it be better to build my load on PMDG and then carry it over to PFPX, or create the figures in PFPX (i.e. random) and then manually enter them in PMDG? I'm going to post this to the PFPX forum, also.
  5. In another post Al Jordan listed all of the data necessary to create aircraft TopCat templates for all PMDG 737 types. For those of us with only PFPX this contains a lot more info than we need. I've stripped out just the weight data needed for PFPX and created the attached PDF document that I thought might be helpful for creating your own PFPX aircraft templates. Again, thanks to Al for his work in pulling all of this information together.
  6. Hello, guys I'm doing a little research on how to fly the NGX with step climbs, thanks to our new toy, PFPX. Before PFPX, I used to just select a cruise FL around 360, setup the FMS and then go to the progress page, check witch was the optimal FL, set that to the new cruise FL, and the set the next FL in the step climb line to do a step climb. Now, for example in the flight I did today, PFPX gave an initial cruise of 16000 due to an airway limitation, after that a step climb to FL280, 80 miles after this, an optimal FL of 360; and after quite a while another step to 380. My question is, how is it managed in real life? If I set 16000 as cruise level in the PERF INIT page, then I can't set the other restrictions in the waypoints cause FLXXXS doesn't seem to work with this FMS version. If I set 380 as a cruise level then i can set the restrictions in the waypoints but then the engines will remain in CLB performance until we reach FL380; and it is not suposed to be that way, right? The last option, and I think this is the only way in the NGX, is to set the initial cruise altitud at 16000 and then to the steps climbs manually until 360, and then use the step climb line on the CRS page to do the last step. What do you guys think? 7. Hello, I just purchased PFPX and have been trying to build a simple plan from KJFK to KMIA and no matter what I do, I keep getting this error when validating the flight ®ROUTE152 FLIGHT NOT APPLICABLE TO IFPS What am I doing wrong?.. This is happening with every single flight plan that I have tried to create... also, how do I export to PMDG? Any help will be appreciated Thank you

  13. I just purchased the -8i expansion pack and am looking to plan a flight for it. The problem is, I can't seem to find a 747-8i template on PFPX. Even worse, when I try to create a template for the -8i using the -400 preset, I can't edit the MTOW to 987000 without it automatically reverting to the -400 MTOW of 875000 lbs. Can someone help me with this? Thank you in advance.
  14. Since submitting a ticket did not resolve this issue, I am reaching out to the swarm for possible clues on this one: So I have downloaded the newest installers for the 77L and 77WL, uninstalled, reinstalled (as was advertised by the devs in preparation for micro-updates) and now suffer major problems with the OC and the 777 product. 1) The OC can not repair the liveries for the 77L I had installed because it is unable to "load the back-up file". 2) The 77W is missing from the OC and the sim entirely, despite installing properly and without error messages. 3) The install somehow messes up my Visual Studio C++ runtimes, as PFPX starts to randomly crash and bug out (like not being able to add aircraft into the database). This is usually resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling the Visual Studio 2015 C++ runtimes, both x86 and x64. It still does not fix my grievances with the 777 though, as I am unable to use either variant as before. I could delete everything PMDG-related from the sim folders, but am reluctant because of the accumulated hours on different airframes and not wanting to mess up things further. In addition to my hardware specs, I am running Windows 10 Pro x64, my sim is not on the system partition and I always run everything FSX related on the Administrator account. At this point I would love to downgrade my OC and revert to the old installers, as these worked without a hitch.
  15. Hello, I have put in a few flights on the 747 now, and I have never got the winds uplink to work. I've seen this thread on the issue but it does not solve my issue. I'll describe everything that I do to get the data to upload. I create the flight plan in PFPX and export it. I then load the flight plan into the 747 by using the request route feature. After I load up the route, I get the message saying "WIND UPLINK READY". I make sure that the weather file is located in the P3D/PMDG/WX folder. I also make sure that the flight plan is loaded into ASN. Then, I finish off all of the performance issues and then go to the VNAV DES Forecast page and on the bottom left I see (>SENDSENT), but no data actually appears on the page. I never get a prompt to import the data. The page stays blank the whole time with with the (>SENDSENT) near LSK 6L. I've never had a problem importing the wind data into the 777 (in FSX) however. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks,
  16. Hi all, I am currently flying the Aerosoft's Airbus serie IAE engined aircrafts and for a while now, I have decided to became a more sophisticated flight planner as well. The first thing I've done was to install PFPX and in time I learned quite a lot from it. It gives me pleasure to use it but I cannot use TOPCAT with PFPX, (I did not even buy it) since it doesn't support any Aerosoft aircraft. So I wonder if you have some advices of any alternatives to TOPCAT. Also there is a performance sheet printing feature in the aerosoft's Airbus as well and I cannot be sure if such an add-on is really necessary for realism. I am waiting for your advices. Best regards, Enis
  17. I use Professional Flight Planner X (PFPX) to plan my flights and I'm very curious about the meaning of two parts of the OFP (Official Flight plan, the viewable, ".txt" version of the flight plan). In the fuel section towards the top of the OFP, right under the spot for "Captain's Signature", there is a spot where it says "CLB: 250/310/84 DES: 84/320/250" I know that they stand for Climb and Descent but I don't understand what the numbers mean next to them. I've looked all over the internet and I can't find a single answer.
  18. Iv tried every combination of Hold, Cargo, Cargo Hold, Capacity, Limits, etc but i cant find what the structral floor weights are for the holds are. Any one know what the Max cargo capacity is of a Pax (109) variation?? iv hit MAX on the FMC to load it, but it just takes the load to MZFW, i just wanted to update the PFPX files so its correct... So 3 holds, what max weight can i get in them, and if you have the data what was your source, (iv tried searching the 1600 page (LOL) FCOM but to no avail. Liam
  19. Hi, I just purchased the -300ER expansion for my PMDG 777 using P3D earlier this evening. Works and looks really great. First flight attempt for me is KSFO-NZAA. Basically, I use PFPX + TOPCAT together and figure out my fuel planning, it works great with the -200. I am aware that there is no -300ER extension for TOPCAT, so please let me know if my issue is caused by this. So, for my flight...; I just let PFPX find the route automatically, and then entered a random ZFW as I always do, followed by setting up ETOPS. For the ETOPS, I don't think I am 100% correct but I try to use the lowest ETOPS time possible (I have a couple of them I set up in the menus, 120min,240min,etc) and use the recommended airports until I get coverage over the entire ETOPS portion of my route. This time, I got a message saying I was way overweight... long story short, even with 0 payload, my KSFO-NZAA flight is overweight using my ETOPS setup. I ended up just disabling ETOPS for this flight, and adding a random ZFW. Here were the numbers that PFPX gave me. EMPTY WEIGHT 167,829 PAYLOAD 52,171 ZERO FUEL WEIGHT 220,000 // 237,700 MAX FUEL 126,987 // 145,523 MAX RAMP WEIGHT LIMIT 346,987 // 352,400 MAX TAKE-OFF WEIGHT 346,477 // 352,400 MAX LANDING WEIGHT 240,591 // 251,290 MAX UNDERLOAD 5,413 // LIM RMP So here is my question: How does the real flight do it? According to flight aware, it is currently airborne using a 77W (which is the same as the -300ER as far as I know) and I don't think they can "avoid" ETOPS in real life... My ETOPS planning, after several attempts, still added 40 000 KG of fuel to my flight (which is probably where my mistake is), making me overweight. I thought maybe my PFPX didn't have the right numbers for the -300, but they seem very correct. It had estimated I would arrive in NZAA with about 20k KG of fuel, and my FMC currently indicates I'll be there with 25k KG. I know the TOPCAT part doesn't have the proper numbers, but the fuel planning of PFPX should. Everything matches up with the numbers I found on Wikipedia. I know this is more of a PFPX / planning question than a PMDG777 one, but if anyone more knowledgeable than me, please let me know why I can't even fly the route with 0 payload without being overweight. Thank you very much! Regards,
  20. This is a quick tutorial on how to setup and use PMDG 777 SP1 Datalink function in conjunction with PFPX and ASN in an integrated and automated workflow. This is simply a suggested workflow that I use, I don't claim that this is the only or the most proper workflow for integration between those applications. Hopefully you find it useful and can customize it based on your own personal preferences. Initial Configuration In ASN select Auto load simulator flight plan, we will use this feature later in the process. In FSX, load PMDG 777 SP1 and make sure the following options are selected: MENU > PMDG SETUP > AIRCRAFT > EQUIPMENT on pages 12 & 13: MENU > PMDG SETUP > OPTIONS > SIMULATION: For FSX PLN FILE FOR WXR option: Choose CREATE AND LOAD TO FSX The worflow steps Assuming you have no active PFPX weather subscription or if you prefer to use ASN weather in PFPX, open ASN and choose WX Configuration > Save Weather File. That saves a global weather file that PFPX can use in the next step for proper route and fuel planning. Open PFPX, make sure it uses ASN weather (not its own weather subscription). Create the flight plan in PFPX as usual, it only needs to be exported in one format: PMDG route format The above action creates a flight plan in PMDG format (.rte) and places is it in [FSX]\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS. In this case it will be [FSX]\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS\CYVRPHNL01.rte 3. In FSX, inside PMDG 777 SP1 use the RTE > REQUEST ROUTE feature to load, accept and activate the flight plan we created in step 2 (e.g. [FSX]\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS\CYVRPHNL01.rte). Now everything that PMDG 777 SP1 requires for different weather uplink connectivity is done. You only need to read on, if you'd like to know how all that magic between PFPX, PMDG 777 SP1 and ASN happened. By loading the flight plan in PMDG 777 SP1 FMS, there are a few things that happened behind the scene, courtesy of the new features in SP1 and integration to ASN: When PMDG 777 SP1 loads the .rte flight plan created by PFPX, it automatically creates and loads a flight plan in FSX format (.pln) to FSX. This is based on the options that we selected in step 3 above. The location for this file is [username]\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\WX.PLN Step 'a', in turn, triggers ASN to load the flight plan automatically. This happens because of the option we selected in step 1 in ASN. Step 'b', in turn triggers creation of a weather file by ASN, that weather file is the file that PMDG 777 SP1 requires for the weather portion of datalink functionality, ASN will create that file in [FSX]\PMDG\WX\xxxxyyyy.wx Everything we did above is to get the following weather file (auto) generated for PMDG 777 SP1: [FSX]\PMDG\WX\xxxxyyyy.wx For all weather related uplinks in PMDG 777 SP1 to work, it requires a WX file in [FSX]\PMDG\WX folder, the filename is xxxxyyyy.wx where xxxx is ICAO code for Origin and yyyy is the ICAO code for Destination. Regards, JohnJ

  22. Hello everybody, I have a question regarding the PMDG T7 in PFPX. When creating a profile, there are multiple options: 1 Aux Tank, 3 aux Tanks... How to know which one we have to select? Thanks!
  23. Hi. Help to search a profile PFPX for "Learjet 35A".
  24. Hi, I've searched the world wide web on how to plan a polar air route on professional flight planner x but to no avail!! Any kind person out there who could give me step by step instructions on how to do it on PFPX and then fly it on PMDG777, and any quirks I should look out for? Thanks!!
